Quote from: michaelbechtold on May 14, 2023, 23:04:17Locus 4, beta, burns 24-36% of battery capacity/hour when recording a track, screen off, no guiiding or alike
I'm currently travelling & track recording many times per day with latest beta & no obvious change from about 4%/hour which has been similar/ same rate over the last few years.

No hierarchy in the JSON file? If I type "accommodation" for example, should I also expect to see hotel, hostel, motel, camping?

I think I've seen the same behaviour. hadn't mentioned, as thought it was just me. 2 points with same icon & name close together. One was my point, and in a folder, the nearby one I couldn't edit or delete. was quite odd.

Quote from: Radim V on May 10, 2023, 21:22:28@Andrew Heard - offline points and their functionality is not affected at all by this new online search. If it is somehow broken in this version, that is another matter :-(
@radim - thanks, but I'm confused between LoPoints(offline) & new search Offline places - a better example maybe - LoPoints search for cafe & 1st two are within 1km of me (both have "cafe" in the name by the way), whereas from Offline places the 1st is 8km away?

And as @freischneider has written, sometimes a "category" is in the list of search results, but sometimes not, and not in the"cafe" example.

and same/ similar motivation for my "toilet" example

No pun intended, but am I missing the point here... from Ireland, Killarney (probably any place will do) - main menu > LoPoints(offline) > toilets > many to be found - correct.

Now new Search > Offline places > the nearest is 7km away - stupid, and if there is trailing space character in search text then there are no results!

Quote from: TapioBut I didn't ask Locus to show something else... IMO that makes no sense in a search context.
And tapping those points (without without really knowing what they are) makes the search results disappear.

Speaking of "making sense" - sometimes the whole bottom window is just not useful. Of course depends on the results, but maybe you can add something useful, like distance, idk... Screenshot related.
I'm using Search more & more while cycle touring, now not crashing, and agree 110% with @tapio.

I'm finding similar - tried online address search for "laundromat" in Ireland but the closest points start 1,000km away in Denmark! A Google Maps search correctly finds a point 1km away.

Quote from: TrulloF on May 09, 2023, 08:22:55I get lots of crashes in connection with point/track menu
very similar to me ;-(

PS. quick test - appears fixed in 4.16.0.3

4.16.0.2 after displaying point details, either from new search or old LoPoints(beta) then tap the 5-dot position icon on the preview map @ the top of the panel, LM crashes every time. There is no option to generate a report.

Offline places - sometimes all it displays is this name. Not able to enter any details. Switch to another search type then back to offline places, and now a textbox is displayed.

The Search hamburger menu sometimes seems unresponsive (or slow) to a tap. Is it really needed to jiggle this icon everytime?

I just had a crash while in the Dashboard editor for no good reason. I should have created a crash log ;-( Hopefully not related to the bug I reported to @menion a few weeks ago which we thought was fixed.

@Viajero Perdido have you tried the latest beta 4.15.2.5? I had similar (not exactly same) experience with 4.15.2 but was fixed in 4.15.2.3.

dosn't work. When selecting a preset always the third is selected.
@Gerhard57 - well spotted - confirmed here too

Quote from: lor74cas on April 15, 2023, 13:33:53I am more and more convinced that the webplanner must have 1" plus LIDAR data (Sonny's DTMs). There is too much difference between what locus compute with LIDAR data on the same trace computed on the webplanner.
If, for reasons of occupied space, it is reasonable that not all the 1" data be downloaded to the mobile phone, but only those of the most used areas, I don't see why on the server hosting the palnner it is not possible to have this data for all areas where they are available.
a new help topic?

Ireland V1 - excellent timing for me Sonny - thanks! About to cycle tour over there.

If would be great if Locus Web used these DTMs for the route planner, say for Gold level users - certainly a premium feature.
