Interesting new feature to generate shaping points in planner for imported tracks.

I guess it's difficult to find a balance between to many or not enough points.

@CabrioTourer - check out how http://brouter.de/brouter-web allows total user control of balance of points - Load > Load Track as Route > Tuning > Fuzziness slider control - one side very few shaping points, other side of slider - lots of shaping points - no need for system to compromise because user decides - very nice system IMHO.

...So I promised a long time ago some kind of customization here > and this is ideal adept > allow to define order of these buttons.

Eg toggling from the OAM map to the Satmap shows an empty map instead. Map picker says "Adaptive - Base map".

I have a similar experience to @tapio. Here's my theory: Locus doesn't remember 2nd last map after app exit, so first long tap toggle displays blank map. It is necessary to manually select a 2nd map, then the long tap toggle will work correctly. So question becomes, should Locus now remember current & previous maps at exit & restore these settings upon execution so that long-tap map switch works across app instances?

@tapio maybe you misread my last post, or I wasn't very clear? Double tap the Dashboard button to access the editor. I do sometimes find double taps are slightly unreliable, interpreted as two single taps.

Thing is, there's many photo folders, so what I would have to do is going to a photo app, find folder,...

@tapio this is just a naïve suggestion, I use an app called F-Stop; with just 2 taps all the photos from all Android folders are visible in one screen. Probably other "photo apps" are the similar.

@menion - is there a problem with the Help system? When I add a new topic https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/add there is no Submit button so I can't save the topic. It has only been like this for max 2 weeks since I last added a help topic. I was trying to add a new topic about the RSS feed links no longer working - click the link results in error EXCEPTION_ Class 'Forums_Service_Forums' not foundException on line 15 in file etc..

I hadn't noticed until now, but the help desk RSS feeds may have been broken for last 7 months according to my news aggregator Feedly. To reproduce: from web browser > Locus Map help desk main page https://help.locusmap.eu > click on any of 3 RSS feed icons (Questions | Ideas | Problems) > error page with exception & stack trace (attached).

Привет Pout, were you able to load the theme as a zip? Locus reports errors, I just managed to make it working in unpacked format. пока пока 😉

ZIPed theme worked for me too.

Are there any topics to vote/ support regards saving shaping points in GPX files. It's crazy that these valuable points are lost during export.

I notice in the latest beta a change in bottom menu when a track recording is stopped. Now the 4-button bottom menu no longer contains the dot-dot-dot menu on the right hand side - 1st screen capture. So after stopping it is no longer possible to directly export or hide the track. Now instead after stopping, the visible track must be tapped, and a slightly different 5-button bottom menu is displayed (the original bottom menu?) - 2nd screen capture, which does still have the dot-dot-dot menu on the right hand side.

Also note other inconsistencies - only the 2nd menu has the "i" button.

Please add back the dot-dot-dot menu.

@tapio - thanks - I now have the OAM v4 & OAM v5 maps for my region, and the results are quite interesting/ useful?

4.5.5.3: I have a single ZIP theme. I select the v4 map. I tap the Map Themes button and the list of themes is correctly displayed - internal General theme + single external theme. I then select the v5 map, tap the Map Themes button. The green message is not displayed, instead a blank side panel appears (note I am testing with a tablet in landscape mode).

@menion - useful info? Shall I create a log file?

4.5.6: tap Map Manager > select the v5 map > return to main screen. But I *think* the v5 map isn't selected/ tap has been silently ignored, because when I next tap Map Manager: v4 map is still selected.

All my testing is on an Android v11 tablet, but on the Android v8 phone the v5 map is working fine. I copied v5 .db & .map files to tablet 2nd time in case slightly corrupt, but same behavior as already described.

Attached are examples of a "point visibility count" bug. It is likely a very rare instance, and I can't reproduce it, but thought I'd share it anyway for some fun. I think it is likely some incorrectly cached database count of visible points. In original case, count=1 but actual visible=0; in another case count=0 but actual visible=4. When I tapped on "show all" then "show none" the count was finally fixed.

By timestamp I mean that the tracks recorded by gps and imported into the planner have no time references. It is not possible to make simple assessments

@lor74cas - do you mean display of timestamp in the chart popup? RWGPS makes this aspect so easy. Would be great to display the timestamp at any point of the track. +1

At present long-tap is either ignored, or displays the address (settings > controlling > tap & hold. I use the latter. But a more general system could be long-tap > context menu > whole range of menu options, not just address.

Unhelpful track stats - I don't have a heart rate or cadence sensor. Display N/A (Not Available) or better, don't display if N/A or even better, allow configuration.
