probably been mentioned before, but every time I use online search I feel I'm battling/ pushing uphill; example search for close-by road in Web Planner - first three suggestions are on the other side of the earth; why aren't these suggestions sorted by distance to the users position?

Lemmy if you are able, try editing config.cfg in the Locus app folder with plain text editor.

My settings:

thanks for the report regards BlueStack, but to be true, since Windows sub-system for Android work perfectly

@Menion - I recall long time ago BlueStacks was an LM suggestion. I spent a long time trying to get Windows sub-system for Android working, and posted a few comments/ questions for help, but no one helped. Maybe it's easier now. Is there an up-to-date procedure for installing it?

Another example of inconsistent online search . Screen caps from the web planner but identical results in LM4.

Search for "Lower Crescent, Belfast, Ireland" - the closest Belfast result in 1.3km away although unrelated to "Lower Crescent". Note I had positioned map to show Lower Crescent only a few metres away. Why not sorted by distance? Also note LM4 displays the distance but not the web planner.

BUT the important point, search for "Lower Crs - now the correct results are displayed, but still not at the top of the list given they are the closest, and the "best match".

Results displayed as "Crescent" but actually best to search for the abbreviation "Crs".
My Locus online searching experience is often a real hard battle ;-(

@ Gerhard: For me, the number of points was also not correct at first. After I have switched off all (with the new brush icon) and then have shown again several points, the number is now correct for me.

exactly same for me - I think LM & SqLite database had been out-of-sync due to LM crash(s)

- opening of side panel has a small moment of stuck, not completely smooth

for me (as previously posted) it is larger moment of "stuck" - many seconds, yes an older device sure but non-beta side panel opens immediately

- pic expert settings - value might be strange, don't know. I better leave it like it is

5000% is same on my 3 devices, strange but I believe OK

I also would suggest using the "30/16500" numbers as feedback after the long click, but what about graying the "30" out? Greyed out icons or words are normally understood as "inactive". That would indicate that the 30 tracks are inactive at the moment but still loaded. A second long click would display the "30" in black again

agree but with the small number font height I wonder whether grey or black will be distinguishable/ obvious?

The secondary function, by the long click, is the temporary hide of all points/tracks.

@Menion the new long tap doesn't provide any visual feedback. You don't know whether anything has changed or the long tap has done anything until you return to the map. Could the long tap also return directly to the map?

I don't mind either way, as it's a good visual reminder of a temporary situation

can't imagine how this may be possible. Maybe you used theme extracted, not in zip form?

@menion will test better next week, 2 devices, Only 1 with error, probably my issue.

Presets ... hmm, I do not like problems that contain the word "sometimes" . Please try to find a reliable way to simulate it and I'll gladly look at it.

@menion - I think I have a reliable way to reproduce (for me) but will wait until finished trip to provide good steps for you.

thanks for the tip on long-tap in Google Map - that works & is a GREAT "work around". until the latest LM Online Search was released, I've never bothered with online search or even Google Map. The offline POI have been sufficient.

I'm happy to "agree to disagree" whether the initial online search is within the visible map or not. I would rather see list results sorted & displayed by distance (method of sort could be a setting/ personal preference), and in which case Barcelona would never be shown, and the map wouldn't be zoomed out. if we do compare with Google Map then it doesn't zoom out by a huge distance

or even... have the "Barcelona"(s) in the list BUT only change the zoom if & when that item in the list is tapped?

I don't think Barcelona for "Bar" is that irrelevant.

@Radim - maybe the search should consider the current zoom level? Barcelona may be relevant if close by, but not when 2000km, and the map is zoomed out to display, non-existent map/ no offline map even exists. This zoom-out to 2000km happens on most searches which is bad.

Did you check why a share from Google Maps doesn't work? This workaround would help alot.

You could create a help topic for voting, but I like the new colour scheme.

4.16.0.2 after displaying point details, either from new search or old LoPoints(beta) then tap the 5-dot position icon on the preview map @ the top of the panel, LM crashes every time. There is no option to generate a report.

Offline places - sometimes all it displays is this name. Not able to enter any details. Switch to another search type then back to offline places, and now a textbox is displayed.

The Search hamburger menu sometimes seems unresponsive (or slow) to a tap. Is it really needed to jiggle this icon everytime?

If would be great if Locus Web used these DTMs for the route planner, say for Gold level users - certainly a premium feature.
