When I open this example URL in my web browser, it displays the correct POI.

I guess that is about PlaceIDs and requires API-usage, if possible at all.
This can not be simply decoded or parsed like simple MapURLs with lat-lon. Currently only sharing a nearby set marking seems to be of help.

Hi guys, sharing points from Google Maps does not work for years as I know. Somewhere in 2021 maybe even later, they changed the format and the information app receives can no longer be simply converted to any text or coordinates.

What about then at least adding support for PlusCode? That can be copied from Maps with one tap and surely be parsed by Locus search without ambiguity?!

it took me quite a long to prepare a new version even there aren't any major changes, just a few very interesting tweaks. Well, the new map-screen content panel of course ... thanks for a big help with it. Hope it will be a useful tool for everyone.

thanks @Marek, and the issue reported many times, of search results from > 10,000km away at the top of the list, when there are closer matches on the map < 10km away?

This is not forgotten, just there is no "fix". There is tons of work to determine relevance of results and: Not everything is under my control. Also the rule that closer "match" is more important is oversimplification as we (not just me) agree. I may do some tweaks but proper solution takes time.

we will be publishing a new final version to Google Play this week so please wait for it. There is currently no Beta version with fixed "Google Maps share point" behavior.

Latest Google Maps. No improvement with Share to LM4. Exactly the same poor behavior.

But in the other thread they said it's fixed - new version just isn't out yet.

Those are the changes:
- The OAM background from ZL 8 up now is rendered from the July 2023 edition of Christian's OAM vector maps (YES, OAM goes on - thank you, Christian!).
- Increased and earlier visibility of offshore energy and power sources for ZL 4 to 8, while reducing visibility of the land based installations for those low zoom levels.

which version of Google Maps app are you using? It seems that there were changes in what is Google sharing from app.

I though "like here" > "like in this case". Anyway does it happen also with the latest version? I'm trying various combinations with the latest Beta version and no such issue detected, damn.

Suggestion: Blue background also for points and tracks, if at least one is shown. White if 0 or temp. hidden. Helps orienteering of the eye.

Transparency helps here. Unfortunately, the colors are then no longer as strong

How about only displaying the pattern, e. g. arrows? This is what I do.  Arrows in slope colour.

New beta crashes on every launch.

it is complicated. The app disables everything possible when the screen goes off to save power. I'm a little worried to modify here something, to be honest.

Anyway, I've found a place where it may be improved and a little speed-up. So next version ...

I would like to keep the whole top panel visible (otherwise it will need a bigger change in the UI), but disabled auto-hiding is of course an issue, so consider it fixed!

Long-click to toggle themes > because you still need to open the side panel, I think it does not save too much time here.

thanks for the explanation of "your embedded waypoints use-case". Understand. Interesting is that your "refresh bug" works . Anyway it is similar to the "Hide other tracks" feature we discussed yesterday on the help desk. I do not have a big problem with creating such advanced functionality, but I have more and more problems with finding some logical place, where this activates. We all know that app is really complicated for new users and I have to be more careful when adding additional functionality that makes it even more complicated, sorry.

Problem with theme > I've tried your theme "Tapiola" > works. Then closed Locus Map, removed the subfolder and started app again. The app throws a warning that the theme can't be selected. After manual selection, seems to work correctly. So no problem.

thanks for the report regards BlueStack, but to be true, since Windows sub-system for Android work perfectly, I do not use any other emulator. I've tried BlueStack some time ago and it refused to run on my PC. Because it works as expected on all known Android devices, then ... thanks for understanding.
