Hi there,

I'm not sure which maps do support an embedded kind of legend and if/how it is possible to show this in Locus - I did not find anything.

Since WMS maps do support legend info, is it possible to show this somehow?

A simulation mode is always a huge benefit when playing around with GPS apps. Usually if you search for such an app
you are not outside or have perfect GPS reception. I think it would be a benefit if new users could try this immediately and see how the system reacts in a real scenario.
Having a simulation mode like this, where you can basically create the GPS input with the map center yourself, is a really cool feature in my opinion.

However, the parameter needs a bit more explanation, and I would remove the speed setting (in the user visible settings) so you can just toggle simulation mode and the map center reacts as a GPS sensor (more or less). I think that would be pretty nice. The speed setting adds unnecessary complexity imlho (or is there a scenario where you need different speeds for testing - does the system react differently?)

0709 found it, it was the default setting for moving speed in the config file - apparently the default is 0 which does not trigger the Navigation stuff... I'm unsure though what exactly it is for

Alright then it works the same was as in Orux, that's fine

The only thing that would be useful (also in this example) would be a color that could be specified
as 100% transparent as many overlay maps I saw have a white background :/
The blending modes are not necessary in my opinion

First of all, I'm aware of:

However, I've got the following WMS Service:

The Layer "Tourenkarte Neigung" is meant as a slope gradient map for ski touring in my area (see screenshot below)
The problem with it is that it of course is meant (and only makes sense as) an overlay, not an individual map.

And my question is: How can I make use of it?

Is the provider to blame that they do not support transparency? However, if they would, wouldn't this be a fixed opacity setting which is rather useless?
In QuoVadis and other mapping apps I can use any map I want as overlay, and select the opacity and transparency color myself. I think this would make a lot of sense in such a scenario..

Or is there another way?

I'm currently trying some of 0709's tcx files with the morse code tts file.
I noticed that I do not get any voice output apart from "Let's go" for all kinds of navigation.

I'm not sure what the problem could be but note that I am trying it without GPS reception by following
the track to simulate it. It works as far as the directional arrows show up in the top left, but no voice
if I get near a course point or a junction in the "on the fly" navigation mode (not sure how this is called, if I calculate the route directly in locus for testing).

If I enable the notification settings (Waypoints, Out of track, Next Point) in the Guiding Menu, output seems to work for Guiding Mode. But how do I enable this in Navigate?

Anyone got a clue?

Very valuable and innovative in my eyes (just think about bike messengers)

I think a simple search for: "No big interest in TCX - http://help.locusmap.eu/search/TCX" is not very fair - most of my biker friends would adore such a feature but have no idea how to technically get there (TCX), so they won't come up with such questions.

Gibt viele Möglichkeiten, was für dich passt kannst nur du rausfinden und hängt davon ab was du genau willst

Also was ich eben vergleichen will ist in dem Fall das oben besprochene Guiding, wie dus erklaert hast und aber auch sowas wie in dem verlinkten Thread besprochen wird: Das ich mir zB. eine Route/einen Track erstelle und da bei bestimmen Abzweigungen diese turn infos einbaue - ich bin nicht sicher wie man sowas am besten macht?

Guiding ist mir klar, nachdem ich gerade auch brouter integriert habe, probiere ich das gleich mal aus

Sorry du hast recht, ich habe nicht gesehen das bei Guiding keine Abbiegehinweise verwendet werden.
Ich will nur eigentlich beides mal ausprobieren, also auch explizit mit Abbiegehinweisen und habe mich gefragt was man da am besten nimmt um diese Hinweise zu integrieren

Im Übrigen habe ich eine Fußgängernavigation auch noch nie ernsthaft benutzt.

Nachdem der oben verlinkte Thread trotz gutem Englisch sehr verwirrend zu lesen ist, schliesse ich mich mal hier an.
Ich moechte mir einen Ueberblick ueber die Moeglichkeiten verschaffen, deshalb evtl. ein paar redundante EInsteigerfragen:

Ich vermute es ist sinnvoller bei der Planung den Track/die Route gleich mit Abbiegehinweisen zu versehen anstatt
das automatisch machen zu lassen. Das Abweichungspiepsen kann man dann ja nach Lust und Laune an und ausschalten nehme ich an oder? Wenn ich richtig gesehen habe laesst sich ja hier auch ein Radius einstellen.

Wie werden diese Abbiegehinweise eingegeben, gibts da eine Anleitung oder ein Video fuer einen Ueberblick?
Was ich immer schon suche ist etwas bei dem ich im Idealfall garnicht lange aufs Telefon schauen muss, zb 1x pieps = rechts, 2x pieps = links - glaube das ist aber eher Wunschdenken
Wenn ich das aus Joachaims post (oben verlinkt) richtig herauslese kann ich mit Locus nicht manuelle turn instructions hinzufuegen, oder?

D.h. wenn das automatische zu viele Infos ausspuckt muss ich es ueber gpsies machen?

Das hab ich schon ausprobiert, ich kann die Anzahl einstellen, auch nur mit einem aendert sich nichts..
Ich werde dazu wohl mal einen zweiten Thread starten, hier scheinen das ja einige zu verwenden
