Ok, get it. But have to ask again: Will you have a look at the back/forward button problem in editor I described? I have a vague memory we talked about this sometime ago, but you couldn't easily reproduce it?! Is that still the case? - Because for me, I can reproduce it with 100% certainty everytime when there are points close together. It's especially easy if you have a section where you came back along the same track.

What is new here? I tried the editor, and as far as I see, the buttons behave exactly the same. Furthermore, an old bug is still there: If several trackpoints are close together and I try to quickly "browse" through them with the buttons, inevitably after a few taps the selection gets lost. That's quite annoying, especially as it happens when points are close, so it's hard to select the last point again.
I hoped that would've been fixed, but either not completely, or something else...

Is the intent for preset change planned anyway or should I add an idea?

Two tiny things:

• New settings: Icon for "Controlling" and "Points & Tracks" is identical. I think, Controlling can keep the plain cogwheel, and P&T should get the small "point bubble" or track icon overlayed
• The intent description https://github.com/asamm/locus-api/wiki/Action-tasks-(Broadcasts), track_record "stop" doesn't mention the profile name. If I remember correctly, this was added in the latest beta - it should be documented and described what it does

[Activate Preset]

Just back from hiking in Scotland, hope it's not too late for some wish for next version
I didn't get the chance to try out the new intents yet, but I'm looking forward to it. However, I'm missing one: "Activate Preset" (by name). With this, intents would be able to set anything that can be done in presets. Furthermore, adding new settings to presets automatically makes intent more powerful.
Case in point: I now have Tasker setups for Hiking, Biking, Car Navigation, etc. that are able to setup all aspects of my phone, start Locus/recording, etc. Only to have to display a popup at the end "Please choose the correct Locus preset now". With such an intent, it would finally be possible to to have a 1-click solution.

And another tiny thing: As you're improving point filters, could you also amend the track filters with a "Activity type" selection?

I don't think it's new, but I just stumbled over it and it's so small, I didn't want to open a topic in the Help Desk:
When splitting a track, the new sections have an empty description. I think the intuitive thing would be to copy the original description to both sections - it's always easy to delete it later, but more annoying to having to copy it. And worse, if you check "Delete Original".

3.30.3, Locus Store:
The "My history" and "My subscriptions" screens are empty. I don't have subscriptions, so that's fine (although I would prefer some kind of "You have no subscriptions" text), but I definitely have a history.
Everything else in store seems to work (e.g. Check for updates, Buy LoCoins, etc.). I also had a case where after clicking a few things in the Store, I suddenly couldn't get out of it anymore (clicking back arrow/button didn't take me back and in the end I had to kill Locus), but I can't reproduce it now.
But the empty history is definitely a bug.

PS: Works on my S5neo (stock Samsung ROM), but not on my Note4 and S4 (both LineageOS) - so perhaps something with the OS? All have working Google Apps, though, and as I said, everything else in the store works fine.

One last, totally unnecessary thing about the startup screen: Why is everyone calling it a Star Wars screen, when it mentions a "warp core", which is a Star Trek thing? And the matrix is in there, too.

No, but seriously: I find it funny, too, but I get how it may make the app look not-serious-enough for some people. Especially, if startup fails, people new to Locus might feel being fooled when the last thing they see is "Initialising warp core" (or whatever). Now Menion says in that case another more serious message appears, so that would be ok - i didn't have a startup failure.
So my two cents: Discussion is tedious for us power users, but for newbies, the whole thing might give a slightly wrong impression about Locus.

1) Thanx for getting black status bar back - prefer that, too
2) I must admit I can't reproduce the FC all the time as written, but it happens ever so often, after long or short pause, starting Locus from launcher or recent apps scroller alike. Not really annoying, but definitely new. Need a debug log?
3) On my S5neo, the startup screen (the scrolling Star Trek/Wars thingy) does not show at all, instead for a short time I see the default map button setup, before everything's as it should be - see attachment.

Strange behaviour with new version:

• Start Locus: OK
• Exit Locus by tapping "Back" twice: OK
• Start Locus again: Force close
• Start Locus again: All fine

Can be repeated indefinitely - every time after Locus was exited (not just sent to background), Locus FCs, but after that works again.

Edit: Reproducible on Galaxy Note 4 and Tab Pro 8.4, so probably not a fluke...

One more thing about the icons:
Why are the "Locus (Track)" icons hardcoded only for tracks? Many of those would make perfect sense for folders in the Points section. Even "Tennis" would make more sense there. I don't see a good reason to restrict the user here...

for me track folder for now include tracks and for these activities/icons i can´t see any meaningful recorded or planned track.

Regardless, I'm all for more icons, even if some activities don't seem to make sense. But for me, most do. Point in case: Bouldering - of course the bouldering itself is probably not recorded as track. But in the mountains, you'll often have an approach, so you want a track folder with your trips to boulder spots. Makes perfect sense to me.
Having said that, I can do without tennis 

@Menion: While you're at it: Could you add some kind of icon for "Mixed" or "Undefined"? When travelling, I often have tracks where I walk, take the bus, etc. but it doesn't make much sense to cut the track into pieces. Right now, I use the Couch icon, but that doesn't really fit... Perhaps a simple question mark...

track statistics..still ok so far (uphill/downhill are great for snowboarding-statistics)
but track waypoints..IMHO the list-view/overview is still limited in informations to me:
- no numbering on the very left
- no number/amount of all waypoints
- only details after clicking on a single point: to start, to end - not within the list
- maybe % (reg. tracklength)
..and sure, I got a 'big' display (OnePlus3, 5,5" 1920px x 1080px)

I agree with combined uphill/downhill value being basically useless.
And yeah, the waypoint list could be made more useful. I'm also missing multiselect, e.g. for deleting several waypoint at once - just like you can multiselect/select-all in the normal points list.

Right now, adding waypoints "after the fact" is quite tedious... So please vote there, I already convinced Menion that the proposal makes sense

A little proposal: I remember that a while ago you made a little survey to find out what settings users need most in Preset system. I'm aware that the exact definition and expectations of "sync" probably differ from user to user. Off the top of my head, the following questions arise:

• Sync only between devices (same user)?
• Sync between different users? With permissions (Read or Read/Write)?
• Always complete database, or tracks/points separate, or even on per folder basis?
• If sync between users on folder basis, is it ok to only sync whole database among devices of a single user?
• etc.

Perhaps another survey would be helpful to find out what users really want so you have a better basis for technical decisions.

If I may give a - in my view - example of a very well-done sync: The database app Memento not only offers own cloud space (another source of income), but also manages the sync very well. So far, I never had missing entries or the like, even when syncing with other users.
