Or it is time to think (Menion) or it could be possible to generate a functional "Lite" version of Locus.
Only maps, points, navigation, geocaching.

Without trainers, sensors, bicycles, Fitnes, LT, chat, health records, Boats, planes, heart transplants .... and I do not know what's all in Locus.

Hehe, I know several people who won't touch Locus Map because of its complexity. A geocaching Lite version could be a solution for them, but personally, I like a lot of functions. But they have to work. Not able to add waypoints last week was very frustrating.

I also want to see a rock solid and reliable Locus Map. I do all my logging with GSAK as I don't thrust anything else at the moment. My wife is doing all logging with Locus Map and she experience strange error messages popping up from Locus that an error happened and "something" is stored for offline logging. But when we afterwards search, we cannot find anything stored for offline logging and everything seems to be correctly sent to the online api at groundspeak. Or so it seems :-)
The first thing I wish is more meaningful error messages when something goes wrong. A small popup which last half a second before it goes away is not user friendly and it does not say anything abot what is wrong, only that "something" happened.


And I find betatesting Locus Map is extremely difficult. Personally, I am testing on my live geocaching data. I don't want anything to go wrong with that. I don't want to come home from a trip and "test" 20 or 30 geocache find logs and 100-150 TB logs and experience a lot of trouble. So I mostly use GSAK for this as I know it works.

Hi guys,
two days spend on problems with app install & license over Google Play and the problem with Geocaching Live API on 4.x devices, nice. Both issues out of Locus Map.

I will today publish new Beta version 3.34.3.5 and tomorrow, please excuse me on 12 days (hike in Albania). Not sure, how much I'll have access to the internet, we will see ...

If you will have usage for Locus Map during these days, please use this Beta. Completely new system for login into Locus Store, completely new small "toasts" system (that will hopefully satisfy Google requirements), test support for WMTS maps (temporary caching like for WMS maps only), new main Live tracking screen and some smaller changes ... testing is definitely needed .

Btw. I'm leaving tomorrow after launch, so if in Beta will be any serious problem, I'll be still able to create new version in the morning.

visible "own icon" on the map is because of "Show my last send location" settings in Live tracking profile.

Serious error in PRO version 3.31.1. I would rather describe a more complex problem in Czech:

Při každém přepnutí pomocí "přednastavení" Locus v průběhu procesu zhavaroval. Po novém startu byly některé předvolby jako třeba: mapové téma a dashoboard nastaveny správně, ale jiné jako třeba: záznamový profil ne. V průběhu jízdy na kole jsem si všiml, že se obrazovka neotáčí úplně rovně po směru jízdy, ale s odklonem asi 5 stupňů jednou vpravo jindy vlevo. Zkusil jsem za jízdy přepnout v menu nastavení kompasu na automatické přepínání "telefon/GPS". Kolonka, kde bývá přednastavená hodnota (asi 6.0) km byla prázdná. Vepsal jsem do ní "6" a dal "nastavit". V té chvíli Locus okamžitě zhavaroval. Předpokládám tedy, že pád aplikace způsobuje toto nastavení ať už aplikované ručně nebo pomocí "přednastavení".
1) poslední Beta fungovala správně, proto k chybě muselo dojít až po zveřejnění poslední Bety
2) myslím, že úplně stejný problém už jsme řešili někdy loni na podzim
V této chvíli je verze PRO jen velmi obtížně použitelná. Pokud má někdo v přednastaveních různé přepínání kompasu, bude zažívat krachy aplikace.

- open Tracks tab of the Data Manager
- select a track and open Track detail
- in track detail screen, select a tab other than the Information tab, e.g. Chart
- now rotate the device (e.g. from portrait to landscape)
After screen rotation the tab changed back to Information tab (instead of staying at the current tab).

filter by attributes seems to work for newly imported caches but not for existing caches. Presumably, that's how it's supposed to work.

Online status is currently missing, we should definitely add it.

There are no audio/vibration notifications about unread messages, but we also plan to add these. But you should be able to at least see the number of unread messages in the notification area in Live Tracking notification description.

The only, probably worst documentation I ever saw, is here: https://staging.api.groundspeak.com/Live/v6beta/geocaching.svc/help . Don't expect any explanation or description what functions exactly do ... nothing like this exists. So mostly from names, you should imagine what feature do.

Hi balloni, this text is label for preference in settings > maps and it's meant for a maps. So it's about cache or do not cache online maps for later faster offline re-use.

While we're on the subject...  Couldn't "Attachment" be moved to the far right, past "Logs"?  I never ever use attachments (does anybody?), but always have to scroll past the useless-for-me panel to reach the Logs.

@Condor: G4L seems to get confused if you have both Pro and Beta installed.  Have you tried uninstalling Beta?
