I am having SRTM on the external card and noticed no performance problem in shading (the normal map shading, also the slope shading) at all. Please don't remove the possibility to use userdef places, our SRTMs may be quite huge (23G here).

Yeah, details will be interesting. Fortunately I have already done it, I guess it was some mix of Locus doing it and me moving files with TotalCommander...
What you will have to do is put it into "private dir" on internal or secondary SD (/Android/data/..) at some point because Android 11... and you can store MapsVector and SRTM on both places.
This type of change will unfortunately eat tons of support resources... for ages I guess. Thx Google.

Problem of slowness solved.

Version from yesterday not usable. Showing the map takes like a minute per screen. Tested with OAM Germany map and Lomaps Germany north after Android restart. Oh fortunately I am not out this weekend...
Unfortunately cannot downgrade without uninstall. Also, older beta not on Gdrive....

EDIT. Quick test, copied map to internal SD /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/mapsVector/

and used that. Same slowness!

Ah and on first start it reported that scary file system change. idk why. I was using internal memory already. MapsVector is on external sd.

In the route details. Can I move the "hide" button to the bottom bar?

Haha... For me, "Hide" is maybe the most used command and "Share" amongst the least.

I'm more thinking about and option to put these buttons into function panels - but this also is not so simple task

If they could also stay on map... I prefer the way it is now. Because outdoors, I permanently show the bottom toolbar - which has important other elements. But hey. I should get used to that doubletap-drag zooming.

Für alle, die es nicht wussten - man kann die Routenführung simulieren, indem man GPS ausschaltet, Routing einschaltet und dann das Kartenzentrum an der Route entlangführt.

One or two betas ago, with auto rotation on: after dragging map, it also did rotate off-center positions, now it does not - intended?

My idea is:

a) No indicator if auto rotate is on or off is needed. It feels as useful as displaying "the screen is on".

b1) If dual button is OFF: show the compass needle button all the time. Make it default, it's good for newbies.

b2) If dual button is ON: On auto rotate state, do not show an extra button, but let a direction arrow float around the big button. Or put a needle inside the button and have it rotate. As Freischneider suggested.
Let's see it as a "pro mode". And the pros should know "top is north", so no need for a north marker if not auto rotating.

You maybe just want to turn off "Dual centering button" option again to achieve this.

Also ich nutze Locus nur zu Fuß und stehe mit automatischer Routenberechnung eher auf Kriegsfuß. Nutze ich nicht... Wenn ich abweiche, werde ich früh benachrichtigt und schaue dann nach. Aber zu Fuß geht das ja auch.
Ich nehme an, es führte Dich zurück, da es ein Rundkurs ist? (Und damit das Ziel(=Start) nah?)
Ich würde die Neuberechnung immer auf den Track führen lassen. Doch auch das macht manchmal wenig Spaß, führt bspw. gerne zu einem letzten Punkt auf dem Track zurück, was subjektiv schlecht ist.

Vllt. wissen die Radfahrer mehr.

With "Dual centering button" on, it still shows both buttons when rotation is on, is that intended? You could turn the compass needle off, but rotate that small new icon around the big button.
Also, that extra marker on the compass button, is it useful there? 3 buttons/markers seem overload for me.

Bug? I add an embedded waypoint to an existing track - the waypoints icon is not shown.

EDIT: Ah, I remember, it is an old refresh issue, so not a big thing... I reported some time ago. After restart Locus or maybe only hide/show of track the icon is shown.
