Same global map thing in my migration. But easy fix to set it right manually.

Of course, just thinking about newbies or people being unaware, it's after all a setting that you usually set and forget...

They have been revised for the excellent V5 maps from OpenAndroMaps.

In V5 maps, hike, bike and MTB routes can be displayed and highlighted independently of each other.

IMO that was possible with V4 maps as well. Since I don't know much about v4 vs. v5 - Do you know what's different? What is it that makes them excellent? Thx. I'm also using v5 maps now.

I am not sure. I think, after moving "maps" to the external storage the map in "Preload global map" wasn't configured any more.

Here I zoom from the global map into some random area, which is not cached. Hillshading is on and I use Sonnys 24mb hgt files. SRTM on ext sd (those are "NM" cards on Huawei). Map is OAM V5, Device is Mate20X.
I don't think it was faster on int sd. Definitely alright for me.

Question: How important is the speed for the elevation data ?

I'm using them on ext sd quite a while and noticed no problem at all.

Menion, on start, Locus creates empty MapsVector etc. in the internal storage even though those are configured to external storage.
It shouldn't do that, just to avoid confusion.

I use MS Visual Studio Codium on Windows and TC (+its SMB plugin)/QuickEdit on Smartphone end.

I noticed it needs to reside in a subfolder under _themes (xml files cannot be directly in _themes/) - just mentioning. I think it was different before.
You always pack the unneeded windows lnk files btw 😉

Migration of maps and mapsonline worked flawlessly. As mentioned, percentage indicator is not optimal if it only changes once per file.

Just want to add that I also experienced long waiting time, like 15 seconds. See screenshot.

In Locus finde ich Eisdielen auch, aber da geht es nur in 2. Ebene (Cafe) - wo sich eben nicht nur Eisdielen tummeln. Vermutlich wertet Osmand noch "Cuisine=Ice Cream" aus.
POIdb-UI braucht eh massive Überarbeitung.
Aktuell nervt gerade, dass Asamm bei den Lopoints erstmal ein Suchfenster vorgeschaltet hat, ich klick das immer weg.

Every app which operates with external data (like Locus vs. OAM maps eg) - What is Googles idea here? Only the app itself is allowed to retrieve/store such data? This would be a huge step back (and a huge step towards Apple stupidity).

Will you add other folders to the int/ext system? My Maps folder is pretty big (3gb because mbtiles, Geonames 1+ Gb).

When I click "Set backup directory" to "App default" a message box with frightening terminology appears: "Reset preferences to default values". This sounds like the whole preferences are reset. Better use terminology already in place. "Set backup directory to App Default?".
