Hi guys,

I am having an old Sony Z1 phone as backup. Phone is always off, but when I turn it on it hardly has a GPS fix. Not sure 100%, but it seems like it gets GPS fix super slowly, like "in 20 Minutes".

- It has no sim card
- wifi is on, "Reset A-GPS" works, I get a confirmation that it has been downloaded--- but does not help
- Google location services is set to high precision
- The Locus Satellites page mostly shows like 20 Satellites, but all red. It displays "0/20".

When the device was regularly in use there were no such problems. Any ideas?

EDIT: Now I'm looking like 5 minutes on it and it has 1/16 sats.

Hi,

after there has been path changes to BRouter some while ago, I am still struggling with the profiles2 folders. I have them at 2 places:

a)/storage/emulated/0/brouter/profiles2/
b) /storage/sd_ext/Android/data/btools.routingapp/files/brouter/profiles2

- If I delete a), Locus does not list the contents pf profiles2
- If I delete b), those profiles are listed. But it cannot calculate the route, an orange error message appears (missing data)

So, I need both. Why is this?

It is set to "Locus profiles", because otherwise I cannot manage profiles from within Locus. TBH I do not understand the other option "Brouter profiles", where everything is grayed out. AFAICS I should use the Brouter app then, which seems weird.

OAM hat alle Art von Karten. V4 war ein Segen, weil Ortsnamen nun das richtige Gewicht haben. Hat V5 Vorteile? Die Datei ist so 15% größer als die V4.

siehe Anhang, kann das jemand von Euch korrigieren? Die Felher sind schon lange in Locus, in den Aufnahme-Optionen.

Hi, ich habe mich nie gefragt, welche Wellen GPS nutzt. Sind das Funkwellen? Doofe Frage vermutlich.
Ich hatte immer im Kopf, dass der Empfänger eine möglichst gute Sicht auf die Satelliten braucht.

Grund der Frage: Ich hatte heute mal bewusst das Smartphone in der Hosentasche. Die Strecke wurde dennoch sauber aufgezeichnet. Die Genauigkeit müsste ich mal loggen, aber schlechter als 15m wird es nicht gewesen sein.War im Freien mit wenig Bäumen und Gebäuden, aber stark bewölkt.

Edit: Werde das wirklich mal loggen. Smartphone in Tasche vs. im Freien.

I am aware there were massive power management problems of Huawei smartphones with Locus Map. To my knowledge aggressive power management on Huawei side turned off GPS, or suspended Locus...
I am now seriously considering buying a Mate 20 Pro or Mate 20 X (monster phone, but huge battery!)

I think, the least I have to do is to put Locus to some power management exceptions on Android side, IDK. What I definitely do not want to have is endless debugging of problems...

Are such problems solved? Maybe Mate 20 Pro or X users here?

I usually navigate a pre-made, existing track. It's colored with elevation information.

Now after I tap it and start the navigation, it is usually overlayed by a new navigation track. Which does unfortunately not have the useful elevation colors. Can only be unicolor.

So my solution was to make the navigation track transparent.

BUT here's my observation: Sometimes the underlying original track is shown and can be used by tapping on it, sometimes it is not available at all while routing. Not tappable, not visible.

Edit: It's a bug. Video follows. I. e., only after showing a points info, the original track will be shown.

Usefulness and my acceptance of the locus livetracking would be bigger, if there wasn't wasted space on the target website. I can understand you need to sell Locus client, but still, enthusiasm may not arise from bad websites. As much map space as possible, please! A floating hamburger menu and "buy locus" only inside the menu please.
Also that center/right info extender is too huge.
I'm obviously talking about the smartphone interface.

You must make something really good, because otherwise the Whatsapp+Google maps livetracking is the preferred solutuin for people.

Last note: It improved, I have seen it. But needs to be better.

I want to edit an existing theme like "Elevate". What I want is, I want to have Parking on top of everything else no matter what. So that I can easily find parking spaces.
Because currently, I changed it to display from ZL15 onwards. But still in some zoom levels "P" symbol  is shown, then in another it is not shown because something else is displayed.

So, how is Priority done? Where do I want to look for documentation. "Mapsforge themes" is that the topic?

Priority is a terrible thing in Locus. Like, on a world map, it does not display "New York City", but it loves to display "Dead dog memorial of an unknown NYC citizen", or "Saint George Kindergarten". etc etc

Übersehe ich etwas? Für die Einschätzung, wo und wie lange auf einem Track pausiert wurde, würde ich gerne sekundengenaue Zeitstempel der Trackpoints sehen. Locus scheint da nichts zu bieten. Im Punktpopup ist keine Uhrzeit - und genau da wäre die Info gut aufgehoben. Mittels der Trackanalyse könnte man sich dann einen zeitlichen Überblick verschaffen, was derzeit nicht geht. Von jedem Punkt die Details im eigenen Fenster anschauen ist zu umständlich.

Leute. Niemand mag Deppenleerzeichen. Deppenleerzeichen-Schreiber sind die Schmuddelkinder der Nation. Und o.g. Menüpunkt ist echt schon unanständig lange in Locus Pro. Was sollen nur die Leute denken... daß wir alle Sonderschulabbrecher sind?  Das da oben schreibt man ruhigen Gewissens zusammen.

Ich habe mich da drüben auf https://crowdin.com/translate/menion/ registriert - schon allein dieser schlimme Menüpunkt ist es wert. jedoch finde ich mich (noch?) nicht zurecht. Ich finde den kaputten String nicht.

Frage: Kann ich da überhaupt Korrekturen bewirken, die sich dann irgendwann in der App niederschlagen?

Auch die Verwendung von "&" im Hauptmenü in den Einstellungen ist nicht seriös. "und" sollte verwendet werden.

mal davon abgesehen, dass Locus wirklich mal Tracks nach Hm bzw. Länge filtern/suchen/sortieren können sollte...

Kennt Ihr Software oder Onlinedienste, die das für meine Tracks tun können? Ich habe sportliche Ambitionen und will manchmal nach Anstrengung (hm) sortieren. In Locus habe ich viele Tracks, aber darüber eben keinen Überblick.

EDIT1: Erste Möglicheit, die ich fand, ist http://www.mygpsfiles.com/app/ - aber man muss halt GPX-Tracks hochladen. Da kann man sie dann nach Hm sortieren. 80 Tracks hochladen und analysieren war da kein Problem.

Mein Locus piept s.o.
Derart nervig, dass ich keine Sprachausgabe mehr nutzen kann.
Mir gehen die Ideen aus.

Position gefunden/verloren, Track verlassen, Audiotrainer... alles aus.

Und es piept munter weiter.

Übrigens ist der Dialog zu "Position verloren" schon immer kaputt gewesen. Schaltet man das da ein und definiert die Wiederholungszeit, bekommt man es da nicht mehr ausgeschaltet. Dies nur am Rande.

Habt Ihr noch Ideen, was Piepser absondern kann?

Im Höhenmanager gibt es:

-Keine Verwendung
-GPS-Höhenangaben optimieren
-GPS-Werte ersetzen

Mich wundert, dass ständig empfohlen wird, die GPS-Angaben mit SRTM-Werten zu optimieren. Warum? Es gibt doch jetzt diese LiDar-Daten, die genauer als die bisherigen SRTM-Dateien sind. GPS liegt dagegen manchmal 30m höher. Warum sollte ich die Werte "optimieren" lassen? Einen Durchschnittswert nehmen, wenn doch vermutlich die Wahrheit in den Lidar-Daten liegen?

Oder habe ich einen Denkfehler?
