v1.3.2

  • Track grade codes now as a setting
  • Indicators for unpaved roads (new setting)

Track grades, see screenshot. OSM grades go from 1 to 5. 1=no marker, 2-3=one marker, 4=two markers, 5=three markers.

OK... and now I noticed, in your example the logic is vice versa, you are marking the unsealed road.

Ok, experiments... the problem is consistency. 51.324,7.98681 in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.

Screenshot has mostly Highway:Residential, but road surface is only defined for some of them... (asphalt, the ones with blue lines).

Attached xml line 1929+

Does it make sense stiill? Please test in your area. I can add another option "Sealed road indicators" and default it to off.
And if so, do you really think those indicators should be on higher level roads, (highway:primary etc)?

I think it shouldn't be used in residential areas. I.e. just used for v="track|byway|road|path|unclassified"

Quote from: Andrew Heard on October 11, 2023, 08:02:54One suggestion is to distinguish the road/ track surface eg. between sealed & unsealed.
Hi Andrew, let's please discuss this here. OK, I looked at your test position at -42.51336, 147.64366 in Tasmania.

There I don't see the need to check for road surfaces...? At least for Germany roads k=highway v=primary/secondary/tertiary (in my theme from yellow to dark orange) already imply they will be an asphalt road. Do you think an extra layer, like a dashed line is useful and necessary?
Smaller roads/paths may be in need of your idea. If you have an example position, let me know.

Quote from: Andrew Heard on September 29, 2023, 00:06:58Is the "reversed mileage marks" related to my suggestion https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/30858-display-distance-markers-in-reverse?
You cannot view this attachment.
Oh, seems so, nice feature! IMO the implementation is perfect. Just reverse, no additional option.

Stimmt, es ist beim neuen Ordner vorhanden, kann aber danach nicht gewählt werden. Menion sollte es dazupacken.

Neuen Ordner anlegen und Tracks rüberschieben ist aber auch schnell gemacht.

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.18.+ ( 8/2023 )

Menion, can you add an expert setting which centers the map to the starting point of a track, when clicking see screenshot? I can only speak for myself, but at any time the starting point is of primary interest for me, track center and overview comes second.

One of those ideas...  ;)

Online/Offline Lopoi (Eye toggle) to Presets

Reason: Better working together of Locus with themes. How? Themes can come up with no POI icons at all. I meanwhile have such a Layer in Tapiola. So Locus can exclusively display POI. And it would be convenient to turn everything on via preset.

I think you mean the map centering while travelling. Yes, I think LM never emulated some fake, but smooth map movement. I guess not many people noticed this, because ideally we only sporadically check screen.
The frequency of map centering can be set in expert settings (to include them, longtap hamburger menu). Then in settings, search "map centering".
I'm referring to LM4 but should be the same in LMC.
Long story short: NORMAL.

Quote from: Tapio on August 12, 2023, 10:43:03For some reason, I don't like the presentation of the new searches results.
Would you please elaborate a little?
a) I mean on map
b) Eg search a category like "parking". A lot of other POI are displayed. Didn't ask for those
c) Tap beside poi, on map - under some circumstances the results stay on map, sometimes they disappear. Need to go into search again.
