No problem. Offline Geonames is there for you. Unpacked text files go to Locus/data/geonames/
It is a per-country search. So, for Russia, whole Russia, not only Oblast. Kyrillic is included in the ru.txt file. I searched Спасск in my screenshot. HTH

Hey, I may be weird or annoying, but this very small thing always confuses me...

I am expecting "Select all" on top - anyone else? It is the most likely thing to do. "Deselect all" is probably rarely or never used...

And in point screen it is at second place, in tracks on third...

Minor, I know 😁

Tasker / Call Tasker Task with parameters
August 20, 2021, 14:20:08
Guys, I just learnt, it is possible to call a Tasker task via URL scheme, including parameters (%par1 and %par2 that is).

So we can use that in Locus Quick Bookmarks.

This is awesome, a few of us might have used Tasker Secondary before, an indirect approach without parameters.

Example - see also screenshot:

tasker://assistantactions?task=TaskNameHere&par1={mapLat}&par2={mapLon}

HTH

Here's a good reading about elevation gain calculation which lets us understand why a) it is not trivial and b) why different services deliver different values.
https://www.gpsvisualizer.com/tutorials/elevation_gain.html

Best way as a user is to use a consistent data source, consistent usage of flattening/correction... same software when comparing elev. gain.

Oh! Locus and its millions of options 😁 That's the solution for the gps confirmation window, I am not asked any more.

New update from today... clickable currently recorded track - nice, thx!

This is why: On planning, when at home, I add embedded waypoints to planned tracks... Like "you're halfway through". No GPS needed at home!
I think that dialog is useless at that point. At leastvwhen I add a wpt from screen center. And: Locus has enough capability to turn on GPS when really needed (on recording, navigation...)

EDIT: I notice it comes up with this question probably because of the "My location" default.(screenshot) Hmm, I prefer map center mostly...

Seems like Andrew Heard needs an additional option "always hide". Or just behaviour as before. The only person on earth who has not populated both toolbars 😁

Yes I remember the new toolbar was a bit too wide for my taste, but a) no big deal because double tap hiding often and b) Menion insisted (iirc)

I don't know whether it's the latest beta, but a double-tap on the map no longer toggles side panel(s) visibility.
Not a problem here, Huawei Mate 20 X.

Thx. Super minor - I think the line of the selected trackpoint should look different from the currently selected chart place. Maybe the line of the first one thinner/more transparent. Nitpicking.

Schau mal nach, was Du da hast.

OSM Template in bookmarks: zoom not working. Correct template should have # before the zoom part. This works:

Quotehttps://www.openstreetmap.org/query?lat={mapLat}&lon={mapLon}#map={mapZoom}/{mapLat}/{mapLon}

Now the icons to toggle between track/trackpoint view are at the same place (bottom left) - that's better and more intuitive! thx! Maybe only one split icon would be better, to indicate that this is a toggle. E. g. the trackpoint icon looks like "create a new point".
Also, what do you think about the concept (some apps do it) if you longtap a button, app shows a short info on what the button does.

Dito meine Erfahrung.

Lovely one, thank you.

- Control point alert via intent is working.

- New navigation icon and panel option could go to the navigation options at some point.

- If no navigation icon is displayed, upper panel should use full width.

- Small nav icon is a few pixels higher than the statistic panel.

- Screenshot. Can't we get rid of the top left nav arrow? It is there in any case. Arrow on track plus voice is enough for me. When hiking, 2nd next command is uninteresting.

- It is not possible to show the embedded waypoints screen, endless loading, screenshot.
