Tasker has a command "Immersive Mode", but as for the top status bar, only the text disappears, the grey area stays.
Can't say anything about the bottom bar with home button etc., I use gesture control, so no bar here anyway.

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.11.+ ( 07/2022 )

RE: Fullscreen. Regrettably, but yes. I've noticed hacks and problems in the past, also in other apps (eg Moon+ Reader). Small step back, but we'll survive it 😉

I think you're spot on, you want to change a set of options and the current solution could be presets - if we convince Menion to make maps part of the system. I tried already, but he wasn't convinced.

Btw, do you know longtap mapscreen content button toggles previous/last map? This may help you a bit. I toggle between oam vector vs. offline satmap this way. Have never really noticed the unwanted map shading on satmaps.

Maybe there's a way to create a merger of offline satmap + overlay, idk

Nein.

@tapio - was watching your amazing YouTube videos. It all goes very quickly & it's hard to see what's happening & why. No captions. But all sorts of clever tricks I never knew were possible. Thanks.
Thanks. I am aware of it, they're bad, but cannot invest much time. Should probably press on screen longer, there's a white spot there. I am always considering sharing, but I also know tasks are complex and people with just a bit knowledge of Tasker will need support. That's holding me back. And all sorts of error handling needed if you share stuff.
Tasker+Falcos Locus plugin+Locus = holy trinity 😁

sadly IMHO Locus is not mentioned. I have experimented with all other 6 apps (long time ago) and settled on LM as the best
It's helpful to see what the expectations are. What I take from this is URL you posted, POI are of importance for many users. With OAM poi available offline, Locus has all that's needs, but the usability could be much better. Things like "POI along the route", "POI sets" (define a set of userdef poi categories)... But Menion is aware of.
Aw and that horrible scrollscrollscroll-Add100-scrollscroll-another100... Lopoi screen.

Usability vs. features, the old story.
All cyclists and tourist... after all, want a stupid app capable of... not much..., hence easy to operate. The most successful one would be the one which is most shiny, most fireworks on top of nothingness, where they can put most of their belief in. There's a word for it: Apple.
I prefer competence over fireworks. And I admit, after all those years we deal with IT, I'm pretty disappointed by the users average level.
Sorry for the arrogant hate post, sometimes I need that 😁

I am 100% fine on how presets work. Personally I have zero urge to have them kind of bidirectional - i. e. undo, or return to a previous state.

What I was thinking is "function bar in presets" needs another thought. They are complex to maintain. Let's say you have 5 presets which change function bars, but only 2 kinds of function bars. You always have to make function bar changes in any of those, which have the same style. Maybe function bars need an own preset system, just like dashboards. Or possibly make life easier, like copy/paste whole button setup to clipboard.

In all changes please don't forget the people controlling presets from outside, via intent.
No need for Locus asking which preset to use (one of Freischneiders ideas).

Changing the preset system fundamentally is probably... dangerous. IMO it's more important to rewrite the Lopoi system.

a) "Always on: [X] During navigation"
b) "Navigation: Link with presets"

Genug davon...

@CabrioTourer: Quick Bookmark is something you can add to Locus toolbars/menu.

Additionally there's Falcos Tasker plugin. This one offers another possibility to start Tasker tasks. Since you can send arguments with quick bookmarks, I start map position dependent tasks from there. Not position related tasks from the plugin menu.
