Garmin-Software bspw. war schon immer Müll.

Locus-Fanboy?  -1 für deine komplett unsachliche Garmin-Kritik.

Locus Map (4+) / Re: Locus Map 4, discussion
« on: April 21, 2020, 19:20:20 »
I just found it. On one side I can choose the map and on the other side the theme. Very brilliantly solved.

There may be a better way:
Put all the OAM maps and databases in a new folder that is not part of the Locus hierarchy. So, instead of <storage>/Locus/mapsVector/zzzOAM/ use just <storage>/OAM (the actual path of "<storage>" will depend on your device set up).
Now add that folder to the locations where vector maps are stored:
- map manager
- (+) button
- external maps
- (+) button
- select folder with OAM maps and data
- (✓) button
This won't work with a folder that is part of the Locus hierarchy (though I think that is a bug).
This seems to work for me. I think it ignores the OAM databases for reverse address lookup (address pop up on long tap) and with no Locus databases it falls back to an online search for that. This may be what some of us are wanting.
LoPoints search and display works with OAM poi data.
If you are interested could you please check and see if this arrangement works for you and let me know.

Themes - Vector maps / Re: [Theme] OS Map (v3 maps)
« on: April 20, 2020, 14:24:21 »
I've started porting the theme into a version for v4 maps. It is going well so far, I am transferring section by section.  However, the OS Map theme makes extensive use of many v3 locus extended rendering options that are not supported in v4, so i do not think the v4 version will be as good as the v3 version.  Missing the ability for dash arrays to scale up as you zoom in. This will affect a lot of the theme elements that make it similar to OS maps.

Versions / Re: [APP] - version 3.45.+ ( 14. 4. 2020 )
« on: April 16, 2020, 08:44:54 »
Hi tapio
there is a big problem with setup of profiles. It comes from history and also from the united system across all routing systems in the app. All profiles have to have unique identification that is hardcoded in the application so it cannot be dynamic (like that user say "I want six hiking profiles").

So it is doable, I was also thinking about it and like this idea (to be simply able to define own routing profiles like for example "Presets"), but it is quite a lot of work ... so later ;).

Locus Map (4+) / Re: Locus Map 4, discussion

@poutnikl
- scale ruler in Route planner .. same with the zoom buttons. I've to discuss this with Michal and change the title and description for these functions a little bit and yes, agree, it should.

@jonny.blue
nice search UI issue, thanks. I've not yet tested it on tablets and this is the result :)

@Ricardo Borges
auto-rotation is active as long, as you are centered. Behavior in the current public version is a little problematic as the map rotates even if you move with the map.

@Žajdlík Josef
Ah sorry! My mistake. It was removed by accident, not intent as Libor wrote. Current GraphHopper API does not offer more options for some fine-tunning so I see no option to make it better (from a technical point of view). Anyway, fixed. Btw @tapio, what is the advantage of OpenRouteService routing compare to Locus Map?

---

Quick toggle between routing & manual drawing ...
- extra button ... eh, no, the screen is already too covered by UI, right? ;)
- change in the "+" button ... the current solution has perfect sense I believe
- toggle by long click on the "Route type" button? That's it ... easy, quick and allows to insert more than just one manual button. Once done, long-click to continue in automatic routing.

Implemented, nice discussion, thanks.

@tapio

It was fixed for LM4 alpha and LM3 beta. Stable LM3 free/pro have the bug yet, in my understanding.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Locus vs. BRouter, path confusion
« on: April 10, 2020, 15:29:05 »
For completeness, here are my bicycle and foot profiles, locally generated, named and packed in Android by Linux/bash script sedbatch (my GitHub repo) in termux Linux console.

Skilled users can do it any time to fetch up-to-date profiles, as the script is able to pull profile templates master and develop branches from my GitHub repository.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Locus vs. BRouter, path confusion
« on: April 10, 2020, 14:21:27 »
Using of profiles included in BRouter is older method. The main reason was that some people used the same profiles for OsmAnd and Locus, anyway for me, settings at the top of the "BRouter settings" screen (to use BRouter internal profiles) should be removed.

What I may suggest is to place own profiles in Locus/data/brouter directory  ;). Give it a try, it should work. Then is no need for profiles included in BRouter itself and all is under full control of Locus Map.

Thanks for valuable feedback guys. I'll have to read more precisely the last post and give some comments.

Meanwhile, new ALPHA version 3.43.3.3 LM4 is out with two new search options for the test ;).

Latest version for download.

Locus Map (4+) / Re: Locus Map 4, discussion
« on: April 02, 2020, 23:22:43 »
Experts and novices alike will always suffer from changes, yet changes are key to improvements and progress.
Hence - AGAIN - my advise to spend energy into a 21st century help and function (*) search capability. Android settings in many new devices deliver that: you type a word about what you want to do and get a number of matching functions/settings at your fingertip.
That does not address the ongoing UI discussion, I know. But the overwhelming (yet USEFUL!!!) settings have been a reported pain since years.
(*) each function and setting needs to have a number of keywords and synonyms associated. In the selected language and always plus English.
