Versions / Re: [APP] - version 3.41.+ ( 7. 11. 2019 )

I removed these zoom numbers some time ago for a moment, but on requests, I've added them back.

Seems it is time to remove them completely. "Zoom" as a number is generally nonsense, only what makes sense is how much of the map is visible, so "scale".

Zoom in the top toolbar display "Which map layer is used", not precisely zoom value as you know from OpenStreetmaps. Where the zoom value in this "quick zoom" match scale precisely. So in your case, you have a resolution like when you use any online map at zoom 13, but your vector maps here use data from zoom level 11.

Really really suggest to forget on zoom values and used them only for some bug reports etc. Otherwise, they have no usage mainly in the latest app versions when internally app does not work with zoom values anymore.

I do no like ideas that sound too interesting for me :)

New Beta version 3.41.0.1 ... just publishing.
- improved "Quick www bookmark", mainly added option to specify the preferred application
- in Track screen > waypoints > new option to edit points
- the first attempt to use Instabug for more easy automatic/manual (just shake with the device) bug-reporting for beta versions.

If there will be question on most complicated part of Locus Map, it will be for sure detail screen for points. The over-complicated old system (more than 5 years old code) with "view" and "edit" in the same screen and huge complexity. I need to split these screens and simplify ... and it will hurt, sorry. In this version is the first attempt simply just for track waypoints. More will come ...

EDIT: John, may you share a link you use? I'll check it.

@menion Thanks. A hidden corner of Locus I'd not explored.

@tapio
hmm probably better this url, thanks. Anyway keep in mind, that I'm able to change it only in samples. In already existing definitions, this won't change.

And @john_percy, we talk about a nice small feature "Quick www bookmark".

Btw. this was recently improved and now supports also Android based intents, like mentioned google.navigation intent. So in this case, it may look like

Code: [Select]
google.navigation:q={mapLat},{mapLon}
which immediately starts the navigation app on current map center > very handy :).

Generally, it may be used to some kind of inter-application communication if the second app is able to handle "intents".

@balloni55
I know about this issue and was never able to find out a reason why this happens and also how it solves. Your method seems to cause this always, perfect! Still not sure why this happens, but will be solved in next bug-fix version, thanks a lot!

Presets: perfect.

Czech in TTS is more interesting. Write to me please what is language of your device, language set in Locus Map and TTS engine and language in Locus TTS settings. I'll try to set the same to simulate it ... thanks.

"Live tracking" - Evtl. eindeutschen, ergo zusammenschreiben.

ufff ... I just tried to change something with hope ... :)

So version 3.40.2 is out as Graf Geo wrote. I'll not answer on the post above as hopefully all reported issues should be solved. Thanks!

Is there a change in action task track record stop with "autosave = on" and no name (don't know if this is relevant). It now gives a track save dialog, before it just silently stopped and saved the track.

I fight with the custom setup of language since we changed app format (since 3.38 version). Still not perfectly solved ... little weird that with the latest two Beta versions, there was no change. Anyway, I'll test it rather once more, thanks @balloni55.

@tapio
problem with centering does not happen in Beta, right?

@Andrew Heard
Not sure if this is equivalent. Maybe consumption will be a little less than during movement. One thing is internal sensors (rotation, gravity etc.) and second thing is that equitation to compute GPS location often works on iteration method and when you do not move, location does not change => compute is faster => less consumed energy. Just guess.

"style" (missing in your reference)
Thanks, added it
Anyway because MF project seems not to be dead like in times I started to write own modded version, I'll instead contribute changes back to the official version.
Good news :-)
BTW, are you planning to update the V4-maps engine to mapsforge 0.12.0? This finally adds curved path text rendering, which is great for street names:

Just want to say that applying presets to routing preferences, and resetting afterwards, is a stroke of genius. It's suddenly made presets really useful. Well done.

I just wish it was possible to choose map in presets and not only the theme ........

@tapio
Now it works that right at the start of navigation, settings that are included in automatic preset are saved (made a backup) and at the moment you end navigation, old settings are restored.

@Žajdlík Josef
ah thanks, it seems to be small down-arrow that should be on the right side. I'll look at it.

@balloni55
it is possible (issue with the icon). Main start activity of Locus Map has changed in Beta so this switching cause this small mess.

Geocaching: 25kb looks still little hight to me, but as I wrote, maybe you have too much trackables in your inventory?
Favorite point ... I think that upload of draft and also offline logging does not support favorite points (on gc.com side). Hmm maybe I should add some note about this into app ... thanks.
