Maps / Re: [MAPS] - Vector maps (with terrain contour lines)
« on: May 05, 2012, 12:11:24 »
Hi,

thanx for maps with contour lines!!! Really great job.

Sebbo on this forum did a job just as well as you. He generated a map covering the area of the whole alps. You can find his map here http://gps.sebbosweb.com/. Would it be possible that you use this map and generate contour lines as well?

Maps / Re: vector .map Germany weekly; regions daily

I just downloaded alps.map. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Thank you very much.

This map is perfect for me and for other people doing transalp crossing by bike or by foot. This map is also perfect for people riding bike or do hiking in border regions in the alps and in "Voralpengebiet". The map gynta proposed would included the frensh alps as well, but there are no transalp trails in this region. My friends and I think this size and region is ideal.

Vector maps with contour lines would be really appreciated! Not only for me. If you do not have time this week maybe next week. I'm waiting such a long time for this feature so it does not depend on one or two more weeks. :D

do you have the possibility to generate a map of the alps? Wien to Grenoble would be perfect, Mulhouse/France to Villach/Austria would be sufficient, too as mapforge map. Especially for trips in the border area or for transapl trips on bike this would be great.

Your service is really appreciated!

Thanks Pit

@sebbo, sorry for PM, I just found the adequate topic

Troubles & Questions / Having more than one vectormap on display
« on: March 30, 2012, 18:42:50 »
Hi,

I live along the border of Germany and Austria. It would be very useful to see more than one vectormap at the time. With mapforge 0.3 it should be possible to show more than one map. What is to do to select 2 or more maps in locus?

Thanks pit

Themes - Vector maps / Custom rendering style
« on: March 30, 2012, 18:37:42 »
Hi,

with Locus 2.2.0 it is possible to use custom rendering styles in Locus. But there is only one style "osmarender" to choose. How to get a different style?
Thanks

Tools / SRTM files
« on: March 05, 2012, 19:45:26 »
Hi,

I read about "offline altitude calculation from SRTM files is implemented as most wanted Idea on getSatisfaction ... (and bonus is direct automatic download of missing files from internet)" as a new feature. But I don't find a possibility to load the SRTM files in Locus. Can anyone give me a hint? Thank you

Wishlist / Import possibilites for *.img format in locus
« on: December 30, 2011, 17:14:26 »
Hi,

more and more download possibilities for maps disappear for locus user, because of the traffic they produce on the server. One the other hand there are lots of possibilities to download OSM maps in garmin .img format can be found in internet. If Locus could support these .img formats for open maps this would be really very helpful. Do not support import of Garmin native maps (Maps bought from i.e. Garmin and "locked" to a special GPS device). This could cause a lot of trouble with the map providers.

Thanks a lot for locus

Troubles & Questions / two vector maps in display
« on: September 09, 2011, 16:30:12 »
Hi,

I'm living on the boarder of two german federal lands. And I'm using vector maps for navigation. Locus can display only one vector map at the time. But if you are walking along the boarder of two federal lands you have to switch maps every 15 min. I know that there is a switch to change maps quickly, but anyhow if it would be possible to show two different maps simultaniosly in display it would be much easier to navigate.

Thx pit

Troubles & Questions / Wanderreit Map Tile Download
« on: September 09, 2011, 16:22:22 »
Hi,

the administrator of wanderreit map (www.wanderreitkarte.de) says Locus is not using the approbriate format for downloading tiles from the server. Allowed is only one tile. Locus is downloading two tiles simuntaniosly. Therefore downloading is extremly slow and downloads stop very often. Please change to only one tile.

Thx pit

Discussion/New features / Re: vector maps
« on: July 08, 2011, 16:27:15 »
Thankx for vector map download offer! One problem for me specially with vector maps is following: I'm moving along the border from two german states f.i. bayern and baden-wurttemberg. But I can check only one vector map for viewing in my android. How can I see both maps on screen at the same time?

Thank you!

Using the garmin vector format would be great because there are a lot of maps from openstreet map in garmin format i.e. wanderreitmap. It is not illegal to use *.img the format from garmin. The user has lots of possibilities to use standard osm maps. So please think about support of garmin format.
