I notice Locus pro "kind of" has a inclinometer in the compass screen down the bottom

the screenshot in mine the inclinometer shows 341 degrees and 356degrees

Is there a reset button for this? when I mount the phone in the car its already on a angle which makes the readings not correct to show how far my car leans over.

It also would be good not to have it go from 0-360 degrees, better if it works like a proper inclinometer which you can reset to 0 center once the phone is mounted to the car, and the car is on a flat surface so you can check on your current angle later on when driving around tracks. When i lean left it works good for angle - but lean right and I get crazy 350degree measurement :D

More like this is possible with 0 being center, and leaning either way starts at 1 degree...then 2 degree...then 3 degree etc
like this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=processing.test.incmeter

Maybe its not supposed to be a inclinometer - in which case can we have a inclinometer added maybe later on? doesnt have to be fancy - whats already in locus would work if it didnt go to 360degrees and had a reset to 0 setting

It only has to go to about 45degrees for left and right lean - at which point the car would probably fall over anyway hahahhaha

Troubles & Questions / Re: Brouter track colour
January 06, 2014, 01:53:47
Yes it does help me!

Thanks very much Menion - thats a easy way of getting the colour I want :)

I did option 2 and its working great now with pink instead of red :)  So happy hahahhaha

Voice guidance doesnt worry me, I drive slowly on dirt tracks offroad and dont need voices (I use locus offroad mostly - the tracks are still on the map though so brouter works good)

Troubles & Questions / Re: Brouter track colour
January 05, 2014, 11:59:53
Thanks Tommi

I think maybe i misunderstood how Brouter works  - I assume it just creates a route then I guess? (my screen looks different than the one you linked to)

Its in "guide" mode at the moment and its pointing me to the road out the front with bright pink arrows - Im not sure if that changes if Im actually in the middle of the road or if it would stay the same

As long as this is normal behaviour for brouter thats no worries - Im happy just to have offline ability for navigating and can deal with the colour to have that great option of displaying a new route without mobile signal easily :)

The result:

From my location looks like this

As long as all is as it should be :) Thanks mate

Troubles & Questions / Brouter track colour
January 05, 2014, 03:47:27
Probably a dumb question but I cant figure it out

I use bright red colour for displaying all my recorded tracks, and I use bright pink for the "navigation" and "guiding" colour

If I choose to use for example "mapquest" for the "compute source" and i tell it to navigate to a place - the navigation track to follow is in bright pink - which means its easy to see with my recorded tracks also showing on the screen

BUT
If I choose Brouter for the "compute source" and choose to navigate somewhere - the navigation track shows as red - the same colour as my recorded tracks. This makes navigation very hard as I cant see the track at all with my other tracks also showing on the screen.

I cant figure out how to change Brouter colour to pink instead of red. I choose pink as the colour in the navigation and guiding sections but Brouter ignores this setting? and I cant find any other setting for Brouter to change its colour?

I love the update with how you select areas of the map to download.  Sure beats the old rectangle way of selecting a area  :)

Nice work mate thanks for all your great work

Thanks mate,  that link explains it all. Guess I will wait patiently for the store update and the option to be enabled in pro version

Wishlist / Found this unfinished option
December 22, 2013, 07:07:57
I found this extra icon which i added

but when I click it - I get this

Is it possible to finish this option so it works? as it sounds very useful when Im out and about trying to find places :)

I use Locus Pro

I would prefer it defaults to GPS personally as otherwise it won't work at all for me (I use locus nowhere near wifi or cell tower signals quite alot, it's a safety issue I reckon if it doesn't for users like me)

Why don't you just change the existing Locus options so it won't use GPS at all? Or your saying it won't remember those settings each time you load locus?

If I turn my phones GPS off when in range of phone towers - locus still seems to be able to locate me, I assume using wifi etc? as the circle around my position changes colour (perhaps its just using the last known GPs co-oridinate - now I am curious lols)

Yeah the settings are all inside the "track recording" settings section for what you want.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Deleting part of track
November 21, 2013, 23:33:18
Ive tried quite a few track editors - and believe me locus is really easy and really intuitive to use compared to most of those! hahahaha

Even the first time I tried splitting + merging + deleting part of a track I found it very very easy using locus and I didnt even have to look for instructions :)

Alot of those other computer programs have 30 thousand options which makes it hard even finding which one you want, locus is nice and simple and easy to use I reckon - Perfect :)

PS - Editing seems very fast here but maybe thats my quad core phone working well

My screens generally intermittently on and off for photos while recording and also track checking yeah that would definatly affect my battery use

Other features / Re: Offline POI database
November 20, 2013, 21:19:42
Has this feature been released into the latest "pro" version yet?

If so, is it possible to add "Australia" to the POI list as well?  Most of my Locus useage is out in the middle of nowhere (no phone reception/internet available) it would be handy to have more POI that I can use when Im bushwalking or offroad 4x4ing in outback australia.

If the whole of Australia is too big a file - my state of New South Wales (NSW) would do the trick :)

Troubles & Questions / Re: Deleting part of track

I was amazed when I first found out that locus supported this kind of track editing.

Ive always struggled finding a computer program that does track editing in a easy way  - but it turns out Locus can do it, and Locus can edit tracks easier than any of my computer programs!!  Locus is now actually my preferred track editor

Nice work Menion I gotta say, very impressed :)

Meant half of daylight hours sorry. Actually to nail it down more exactly - I generally start my trips at around 7am- 8am, by around 12o'clock noon Ive already used half the battery.

When im tracking, I have screen brightness on zero, wifi turned off, mobile data turned off, sync turned off and "power saving" turned on the phone to try and get a little more out of it. But I am generally taking the odd photograph as well

I made a system to keep my phone charged on longer bushwalks :D

Goes in my backpack for bushwalks. I dont really lose battery when plugged into that as it charges at the same rate my home electricity charger does (1.6amp+ charge rate which is as fast as it charges at home plugged into the wall socket)
