Hello Menion

Sorry, but with your comment you crossed a line you should not cross.
I'm wasting your time? Thats really funny. I think all the users here who tested the navigation system invested much more time for testing it and finding bugs than you for programming it.

Last time I explained the problem in detail step by step, it was to much pictures for you and no track.
http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4533.msg36620#msg36620
Than I posted the track to the explanation one day later and it was 7 times downloaded. Also from you? And reviewed with the explanation?

I personally like Locus alot. I have great respect for your work and possibility to have direct contact to you here in the forum.
But you should also respect, what your users are doing here. You get so much support, bug findings, ideas, productive discussions and so on. And we are all not earning money with it and do that in our free time.

I assume that sometimes you are frustrated when you implement a masterpiece of programming and nobody recognizes it. And we users are sometimes frustrated, if some "easy" operations does not work and we cannot understand why.

So lets get over the frustration and come back to a respectful working together.
I apologize for the aggressiv undertone and hope to get the problems sorting out.

What else than the track and explanation you need?

Bye

Hello

Change log: Bug-fixes: fix: convert trackpoint to waypoint now use correct index on track (in case of more trackpoints on on place)

No, doesn't work!!!!!
What do you need Menion? Pictures? Track? Money? Training? Holiday?

Sorry, 3.8.2.4:

The order of the navigation waypoints is not mentioned because it is not fixed.

Is Menion releasing every in between step 3.8.2.x?

Hello All

New version: 3.8.2.5

- turn on screen not yet tested.
- navigation waypoints order when manually added on overlapping tracks  :-[ :-\ :'( :(

@Menion: After complaining about to many pictures, did you download and review my track? http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4533.msg36645#msg36645

Thanks

Hello Willy

Sorry, its difficult to understand what you mean.
"In idea the more logical time shifted one trigger pro instruction screen sequence."
What do you mean. If you want, you can explain it to me with PM.

"...Pse free setting to only ONE command...",
If you mean:
1. Customizable amount of instructions before turn (1, 2, 3) -> in settings
2. Customizable time/distance of instructions before turn (15,35,300sec. or only at 20m) -> in config file for geeks
3. Customizable screen off timeout Xsek plus Xsek/m after turn -> in config file for geeks

Agreed.

"Your idea...maybe +15 m after turn and NO extra + 5 seconds ! That I would have supported !", Ok for me. It doesn't matter if its 10m+5sec or only 15m. Come on. It doesn't make sense to discuss about this.

I agree in principle to have as less display on time as possible but I have to find my way.
With customization opportunity my setup for biking would be:
One instruction 20sec before turn with display on at this time (at 5m/s it would be 50m before turn), display off 15m after turn. Thats it.

Hello Willy

I do not understand your PDF totally.
What is the number in the column "15 seconds".
Is it meters or seconds?
The yellow area is screen on, 15sec standard on time, right?
Where are the different instructions before a turn? 200m, 30m, turn?

My experience with the origin idea of simple 15sec was:
1. I often have to switch on the display manually, because I'm not sure where to go
2. I often have to switch on the display manually direct before the turn, because the display went black
3. I often have to switch on the display manually after the turn, because I don't know if I took the right way.

Take this into account and the display on time is the same as in the last/newest version, but I have to switch on the display manually 3 times.

The funny thing is, that the idea is 2 years old.
https://getsatisfaction.com/locus/topics/automatic_display_off_after_reaching_next_trackpoint_xm

So lets just test.

And I agree that a customizable setup (time, amount of instructions, distance of instructions) would also be fine, but not priority now in my opinion. Wrong instructions at the wrong time should be solved far before this issue here.

Thanks

Hi Menion

Good comprise.
Don't give up on navigation. It's the unique feature offered.
Fix the order of the waypoints and we are at 90%. About the other 35% you can care later  8).

Thanks

Thats the smallest problem.

Hello

Its like Willy wrote.  http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4506.msg36315#msg36315

Explanation: This is my test track. Created with MapQuest instructions plus manually added ones in Locus.

There is the "way there" (green arrows) which should be the englisch word for "Hinweg", I mean the first way to go after the start.
And there is the "way back" (red arrows) which should be the english word for "Rückweg", I mean the second way to drive back to the start/end.
There are three interesting points/crossings/junctions.
Blue: On this trackpoint ("way there", green arrow, low count number) I added a manual navi waypoint "Right". On the way back (red arrows) MapQuest creates a navi point "Left".
Way there:

Way back:

Wrong arrows at the wrong time.

Violet: Way there (low number) manually added "slight left", way back manually added (high number) "slight right".
Way there:

Way back:

Fine

Yellow: Way there manually added "Straight", way back MapQuest created "Left".
Way there:

Way back:

Wrong arrows at the wrong time.

Ergo: With only manually added waypoint it seems to work but not with mixture of created and manually added ones.

Hello Menion

Great, Thanks. When do you release the next version?

Thanks
#58
Hallo Menion

Did you read my post http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4533.msg36420#msg36420

Manual added navigation instructions do not work. The instructions are not integrated in the track in right order.

Thanks

Hello Menion

Hopefully it's not a new information for you.

Hello All

I don't know right now where to put my feedback. It has also something to do with
http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3318.new;topicseen#new and
http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4506.new;topicseen#new but I think it fits best here .

Topic: Feedback from testdrive with current version 3.8.0

Track was created within Locus with MapQuest Routing with instructions and a part of the track is overlapping ("8 shape").
1. Adding and deleting of instructions works fine. Great. EDIT: Maybe not, see Video. Way back should be right (like arrow on the track) not left like spoken and direction arrow. Its exactly this problem (http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4506.msg36315#msg36315)
Each trackpoint has an individual number (1, 2, 3 ..........). See picture. Here see point number 34.

Question on that:
Is it assured that a manual instruction is added to the point with the number showed in the popup?
Example: I have a overlapping part of a track. First I follow point 30 to 40 and on the way back I follow the track part in the opposite direction from 80-90. If I choose point 88 and add a instruction there is it assured that I get the instruction only on the way back?
2. Voice instruction timing: I get one at around 200m, 20m and right before the turn. In an older version the one direct before the turn was gone. Now it is back. Was something changed? It is ok for me. Customized amount/distance of instructions would be fine. See http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/navigation-limit-the-total-orders-by-user-editable-navi-order-distances
3. Display activation: Its much better now. I would say for now. Leave it like it is. Further tests will show if we need more optimization
4. strict route navigation: not good, sorry. I will try to explain. I startet the track at the beginning. In the overlapping part on the first way everything works fine. Than I stopped navigation on red dot. On green dot I want to start again and drive back. In this situation Locus does not catch the right "part" of the track (way back part). Even with button "next track point" it always takes points from the "first" way. With "next track point" Locus jumps back the points to the start from the first part of the track. There was no opportunity to tell Locus that I'm on the way back now. What can we do?

How is the start of navigation is initiated? If I click on point 67 on the track to select it and than click start of navigation, I assumed that Locus start from point 67 on. Obviosly it does not.

Over all, I see a clear improvement for biking.

Thanks
