Ich gehe davon aus, du redest über das Routing mit BRouter.
Ja, bei meinen Versuchen heute ist mir auch aufgefallen, dass er manchmal einfach nicht den direkten Weg gehen will, obwohl ein direkter Weg vorhanden ist und er ihn mit Zwischenziel auch verwendet.
Leider habe ich keinen Vergleich zu einer älteren Version, weil ich bisher MapQuest verwendet habe.

Ich nehme an, genau wie ihr, bin ich noch großer Fan von Locus.
Für Fahrradnavigation "offroad" gibt es nichts Vergleichbares.
Die Featureliste ist einmalig:
- Openandromaps, MTB Theme
- Hillshading
- Konfigurierbare Ansagen
- Automatisches Display on/off
- Strikte Routen-Navigation
- Nicht "Auf Strecke fixieren"
Zumindest die letzten vier Features sind nur auf massiven Druck hier im Forum entstanden und haben das Programm erst befähigt ordentlich auf dem MTB zu funktionieren.

Stichwort Routenplanung. Funktionsumfang ungeschlagen:
- Openandromaps, MTB Theme
- Hillshading
- Überblendbare Strava Heatmap
- Bilder transparent als Overlay (Karten von Trailcentern/Bikeparks zum Beispiel)
- Mehrere Routen während der Planung anzeigen, unterschiedlich farbig
- Routingfunktion
- Manuelles Löschen und Erzeugen von Abbiegehinweisen
Auch da wieder wesentliche Funktionen durch Druck aus dem Forum implementiert.

Und jetzt wird mit diesen gesamten Features speziell um Fahrradfahrer geworben. Ohne das Forum wäre das Programm diesbezüglich noch in der Steinzeit.

Und jetzt kommt das Deprimierende. Es geht einfach nicht weiter.
Locus könnte der Benchmark für Routenplanung sein:
- Besseres Handling (UI) bei der Routenplanung
- Diese schei.... Zwischenzielpunkte verhindern oder automatisiert entfernen (Liste aller Punkte)
- Einzelne Anweisungen mit einem Klick löschen und neue einfacher Hinzufügen
- Ordentliche Abbiegehinweise (BRouter, übrigens ohne diese komischen Zwischenpunkte).
Also bis auf den letzten Punkt alles kleine kosmetische Verbesserungen.
Und es passiert Nichts, garnichts, das ist echt deprimierend.

Und dann noch so Zeug wie das mit BRouter, das geht aber doch nicht richtig, echt schade, ist sehr vielversprechend.

Ne, so war's nicht gemeint. Ich hatte nur herauslesen müssen, dass eine frische Installation das Problem lösen könnte. Ihr beide habt drüber geschrieben, ohne es mal vorzuschlagen. Egal, hat ja auch nicht funktioniert.
Aber irgendwas passt da noch nicht.

EDIT1:

I changes the parameter in trekking.brf "assign turninstructionmode" to 2.
after reconfiguring brouter and starting Locus it looks like this:


perfect.

And now the strange thing. When I delete my route points and I begin to plan new with some further track before, the same track looks like this at the second attemp:

Its not ok anymore.

What happens there? Is the connection between Locus and BRouter stable in every case, every time?

EDIT2: And if I end the route creation mode in Locus and start it new, the first time routing it works right.

And sometimes when I place a point after point I do not get any routing. Than I delete the last point and repeat it and then I get a routing again.
Something is not right between Locus and the routing engine.

I think we need your help.
I'm playing around with BRouter turn instructions, but my beta version (3.16.2.12) doesn't want to use them.
Even with a completely fresh setup on the phone and only Locus Free (Beta) installed, I always get the instructions generated by Locus. See picture two here.

If I set from_via_to points and let BRouter generate an GPX with the app it looks like picture one, perfect.

So Brouter works but not within route creation mode in Locus. Brouter is activated in the setup.
Do I have to config something else? Config file? Something in navigation setup?
Some files in special folders?

Nachdem ihr mit konkreter Hilfe etwas zurückhaltend seid, habe ich eure Zeilen interpretiert und Folgendes gemacht.
- Backup
- Deinstallation Locus Pro
- Deinstallation Locus Free
- Verzeichnisse aus dem Programmverzeichnis auf die SD-Karte gesichert (Ich war mir nicht sicher ob Cursor und Themes im Backup drin sind)
- Hab das Programmverzeichnis komplett gelöscht
- Locus Free aus dem Store neu installiert.
- Unter Einstellungen auf Brouter gestellt (kein Backup wiederhergestellt)
- Und ich bekomme selbst mit dieser völlig nackten, frischen Version unnötige Abbiegehinweise wie oben im zweiten Bild zu sehen.

Was jetzt?

Und was kann ich jetzt tun?
Ich habe natürlich die Beta und die Pro auf dem Smartphone.
Ich bin zwar durchaus in der Lage das richtige Programm zu starten und auch den richtigen Router auszuwählen, aber die BETA und die Pro teilen sich ja Programmdaten. Vielleicht ein bisschen zuviele. Was kann man da machen?

Hab mich erinnert. Hab jetzt From_via_to points gesetzt und mir ein GPX von der Brouter-App erstellen lassen. Ergebnis ist das gleiche wie vom Web-Interface, also echt gut.
Aber bei der Erzeugung der Route in Locus funktioniert es nicht.

Im Routenerstellungsmodus in Locus habe ich "Route berechnen" gewählt, Profil Fahrrad schnell oder Fahrrad Kurz und hab einen Haken bei "Berechne Anweisungen" gesetzt. Funktioniert nicht, macht sehr viele Anweisungen bei jedem Knick im Weg.

Wenn ich den Ordner Profiles2 lösche und nochmal die APK aus dem Zip installiere, wird kein neuer Profiles2 Ordner angelegt. Ich hab dann nochmal den Profiles2 aus dem Zip ins Programmverzeichnis kopiert, kein Unterschied.

GPX über die BRouter-App? Ja ich weiß, irgendwie geht das, ist mir aber zu kompliziert.

Ich hab jetzt im Web-Interface nochmal ein GPX erstellt und dieses in Locus importiert mit Haken bei  "Punkte mit Track zusammenführen". Sehr gut, keine unnötigen Anweisungen und im Locus Style integriert und definitiv nicht das Gleiche, als wenn ich dieselbe Route in Locus erstelle.

Also als erstes habe ich BRouter aus dem Store installiert.
Dann hab ich die Daten für BRouter runtergeladen (die rd5 Datei).
Dann hab ich die 1.4.1 APK runtergeladen und installiert und die anderen Verzeichnisse aus dem Zip drüberkopiert.
Dann BRouter App -> trekking -> Server Mode -> Bicycle short and fast -> dann kommt die anzeige bicycle_fast -> trekking 0 => exit
Dann Locus Beta 3.16.2.12 => Routenerzeugung => BRouter Bicycle Schnell => "Berechne Anweisungen" => dann routen. Es werden an jedem Wegknick Anweisungen erzeugt, so wie "früher".
Was mache ich falsch?

Schön, dass es bei Brouter weitergeht mit Erzeugung von Abbiegehinweisen.
Dazu ein paar Fragen und Erfahrungen:
- Ich habe zunächst mit dem Web Interface und dem Parameter "2", wie hier beschrieben, ein GPX erzeugt und in Locus geladen. Ich sehe danach in Locus Abbiegehinweise, die jedoch als "normale" Punkte behandelt werden und nicht zum Track "gehören". Diese werden auch getrennt in den Punkten gespeichert. Soll das so sein? Über die Qualität der Abbiegehinweise kann ich noch nichts sagen.
- Ich habe die aktuelle BRouter App aus dem Store installiert und mit der Locus Beta probiert. Es werden zwar Abbiegehinweise erzeugt, dass sind aber die, die durch das Häckchen in Locus erzeugt haben, also nicht wegedatenbasiert. Wenn ich das Häckchen weg nehme gibt es keine Abbiegehinweise. Muss ich noch etwas in dem trekking Brouter Profil ändern? Muss ich irgendeine andere APK nehmen von Brouter und nicht die aus dem Store?

Today I drove the route from this thread.

Navigation with voice instructions and display on/off works great.
1. But after around 2/3 of the tour, the route to follow changed color from normally red to very transparent and I can hardly see the small black arrows to find my way.
Explanation:
I setup my navigation route to be red with 50% transparency. Normally the route changes to a higher transparency (100%?) behind your current position on the route (Not in simulation mode with deactivate GPS, right? => Bug, on other tracks it does, see thread 3 below).
I my case suddenly the route in front of me changed to high transperency and cannot be seen anymore.
Maybe it results from the fact, that parts of my route are overlapping and driven twice?

Does anybody know this issue?

EDIT: Possible explanation. The route is merged from two routes after each other. Between the end of the first one and the beginning of the second part there was a gap ("gaps allowed" during merging). In simulation the route is highly transparent after this gap. Even after filling the gap the problem still persists.

There is also something strange in simulation. See the red color above the cursor. The color of the track changes parallel to the movement of the cursor. And after reaching the gap it goes on from the gap (end of video below the direction arrow).

2. At the end of the tour (3h) my smartphone responds very laggy in Locus on all inputs. It seems that something accumulates during the tour and slows down Locus. Maybe the recording of the tour.

Does anybody know this issue?

3. And the height diagram in the dashboard is not working properly. At the beginning of the tour and also at the beginning of a navigation simulation no black dot is appearing. After a few km it does appear, but than it has an offset to the real position on the profile...

Problem 1 and 3 seams to be a problem of the route file.
I have another track here where the height profile is working from the beginning and the color "behind" the current position is also changing in simulation mode and there is no track color anomaly at all. See:

I reimported the TCX file (buttged.tcx) and all problems are gone.
Height profile works from beginning, track color changes behind current position and whole track in front is coloured correct.
Seems to be a bug in native track/route data of Locus.

Thanks for your participation on this topic. I think a discussion about it is very helpful.

@john_percy: As zossebart wrote BRouter doesn't generates instructions and routing in Locus is sometimes not very handy, especially on a small screen.

@Michal: Thanks for highlighting it. If we didn't find a path around the helpdesk in the past, we wouldn't have configurable automatic display on/off, manual instructions, ability of Locus working with "8-shaded" tracks and tracks with overlap, configurable turn instruction distances, short: we wouldn't have a working navigation feature for MTB right now.
So hopefully we can go on that way ;-).

I think problem 1 is adressed by the ability to add manual instructions until the map data will be perfect. Closed.

I think planning a route without via points is not applicable in most of my cases.

@zossebart: Your assumption of me as an mountainbiker is right.
There is a nice area with alot of trails (e.g. around "Friesener Warte"). You can see  the MTB_scales on the map and so you know, that they are worthy to try. And then you go to GPSTourInfo, GPSies and so on and you look what routes are there already in the area. With this information I make a best of route in that area.
And this would look like this:


Planning without via points? Leaving via points on the map? No instructions but generated instructions by a semi intelligent algorithm? Doesn't work.
