To be honest, im mostly interested in loading some vector map files from different sources, like MapDroyd or OsmAnd. Are building some universal engine, which will be able to load differenet vector map formats? Or it will be focused on one particular format?

I just want to say, I had this error a few times, so its good that you are aware of it. The additional thing I found is: when you click to continue the recording, the blue arrow icon disappears. So the track is being logged, but there is no "head".

Good to see your happiness Menion! Best luck with vectors. Your app is going to be one big, perfect all-in-one machine.

I would say, that this auto-GPS is sometimes annoying. when I'm not recording a track, and I will exit the app by using HOME button instead of BACK ARROW(and confirm that i want to exit), gps is still ON and eating the battery. that is great in some situations (if i dont want to lose gps fix, Locus will keep it for me). but is there a chance to some additional option "turn off gps when not using it and user not in the app"? or maybe: "turn off gps when not in the app and not recording"? maybe some configurable time delay of that?

Auto GPS-ON works for me now. Did you change anything in the new version? If not, it looks like when I used GPS ON/OFF quick icon button, it activated auto-GPS-ON.

unfortunatly for me the suggestion to leave GPS switched on in Locus does not work all the time.

I have the same issue. It very tiring to turn GPS On everytime i want to quick find myself on the map.
I'm sorry that I doubled the topic here http:// .

menion: im recording tracks everyday. its my favourite feature. so I have them a lot. and the new are coming pretty fast. I love to visualise them on my PC on Google Earth. and every night I have scheduled an automatic synchronisation of different folders in my phone with my dropbox account. So it would be great to synchronise Locus export dir with my dropbox in this way. Next day I will wake up and see my tracks on my PC:)
Remember, some of the people are using this feature a lot, even if they are not posting here that they are:)

of course I knew that, but maybe some external one? not associated with You and the Locus. And Im mostly looking for some not standard ones.

Troubles & Questions / Maps sources repository

Is there any place where people are posting/publishing their own custom map sources and the XML that is being used to load them? Is there any repository of them?

PS. Why didn't you add to Locus?

Troubles & Questions / GPS Off, when opening the application
« on: May 19, 2011, 12:25:50 »
When I'm staring the app, GPS icon is showing in my Notification bar. But inside the application, GPS is off. I need to navigate to GPS/Satellites icon/window to manually turn the GPS On using the button.

Why? What is the point of that, why GPS is already using my battery, and GPS inside app is turned off. Can You make some option in Setting to make it permanently On?

3D Skyplot mode is beautiful. I really love it, but it should be a little bit more enhanced. I have a few ideas.

- Add possibility to zoom in/out
- Maybe put real/predicted orbits of the satellites?

There is no possibility to see in what direction the user is looking/going, so you cant see when these shown satellites are.
So maybe it would be nice to add the visible/known satellites to "Locus - addon AR"? I would be cool, and finally I would be able to see from what satellite i have good/weak signal, and then analyze where that satellite is and what obstacles are preventing from getting a better signal. Please, consider that. That would be awesome function. Maybe You have some ideas how to combine 3D Skyplot with addon AR?
