Im the user of OpenCaching.pl and to load a caches into Locus I need to download them in form of GPX - thats perfectly fine. The problem begin, when I don't have internet connection if the field. Suddenly I'm discovering that some of the caches doesn't have the spoilers images cached in offline mode! Even if an hour before, I saw these images cached there! I can see only a small, blue icons with question marks. Menion, can you somehow parse the loaded GPX file, search for images links in it, then automatically download those images permanently, or at least keep them saved until the point/cache is deleted from Locus?

Don't even ask me in what critical situations I was pissed off, when I realized, that I can't see these pictures, when I was in the middle of the forest with no internet connection.

Wishlist / Quick "Guide to" button
July 02, 2012, 12:58:45
I'm very often using Guide to option, but it needs to many steps to set the guiding to the new point. Now I need:
1. center on the desired place,
2. long click on the center of the screen,
3. wait until the label of the place will appear,
4. click on the label,
5. click on the (two arrows and circle) icon
6. from the menu, choose Guide on

This is rather long process wiith many unneccesary steps. Won't it be better to just add some quick button somewhere ( "Guide on to the center of the screen" ). There should be also quick "Guide off" button

That was annoying from the same beginning. It can be seen especially when Map auto-load is turned on. Maps are curtaining each other. Ok, they will always do that, but the white margins are making this very unpleasent and chaotic to look at.

These margins are unnecessary. It would be great to make them disappear somehow. Unfortunately, when Im creating the slitedb atlas,

[attachment=1:19k2dftl]20120702_014912.jpg[/attachment:19k2dftl]

I can only cut off the whole tiles, so the margins are always there. Aren't there any way to use transparency in the sqlitedb format, or GEMF? I would like to create the atlas with transparent margins, and then let the Locus to respect this transparency and just don't show it. Or maybe Locus would be able to search/scan for the white margins automatically and just don't show it?

Here is the mirror wish post at GetSatisfaction:

Hi.
Maps overlays option is great, it can be very useful and it was long awaited. Se we are all happy it works great now. But it is not ideal. Transparency/ translucency is not perfect, because even if the background of the layered map is white, it will cover a lot of details from the second layer. So my idea is to introduce "Multiply blend mode" which will make the layers perfect. All of this is shown on this picture, I hope it is readable:

Implemented / "Output API"
February 29, 2012, 06:22:29
Hi. Can you add some functionality that will further support the developers? I would like to write some plugin which will RECEIVE information from Locus and will react on this information. I see it as broadcasting a lot of Intents and my plugin would be listening for these Intents. There should be an option to turn off/on this feature. I would like to see all meaningful event like: new gps position, time to arrival changed, speed changed, new navigation instruction, everything that can be useful. This feature would open a lot of new possibilities! What do you think?

Troubles & Questions / Changing map still slow
February 29, 2012, 05:51:17
I'm pretty sure that changing between two online map sources was faster before version 2.

Hi. Why "Reset A-GPS data" is always successful? Even if I turn off all internet connections? This is at least strange.

Declined / Time to arrival
January 06, 2012, 13:52:53
It would be cool to see 'time to arrival' instead 'bearing' in Guide On and Line to GPS lines. I don't need bearing, but time to arrival would be really useful. Instead of looking at time rings, user will have a chance to see predicted time which is left to arrive at the target point. Of course the perfect situation would be to make it configurable. User would have a chance to choose which information he wants to see at the end of line.

Troubles & Questions / Sharing KML/GPX when exporting
September 09, 2011, 12:07:00
Hi. I was sharing my track (KML) to dropbox and I discovered it being zipped and then uploaded. This is wrong, because the zip file has always the same name. When I'm sharing two different tracks (one after another), one will be sent in this .zip, but the second one will ask me if I want to overwrite the previous one.

*** There should be possibility to share without zipping ( because I want to share the track, not its zipped version. What if somebody doesn't have unzip app? He will not be able to oppen my track )

*** There should be option to zip the file, but that zip file should have the same name as the track has + .zip at the end.

*** There will be a reason for using zips when there will be possibility to zip more then one together into one package

*** There should be also possibility to share a track from the menu when clicking on the track on map screen

Troubles & Questions / Vector addon - small bug
September 06, 2011, 01:51:40
This is very small and unimportant bug.
When you don't have Vector Addon and trying to add a new Vector map you will get the message: "Blah blah download 'Locus - addon'". This string is too short so the name of that addon is cut off.

Problem is occuring when:
- Map Auto-Zoom is ON
- GPS in ON
- I'm not moving ( but my position is slightly 'floating' )

What's going on?
I'm suddenly getting maximum zoom, probably because Locus is recognizing position 'floating' as small movement and is using Auto-Zoom feature.

I think Auto-Zoom feature should work only if Auto-Center is ON. And should be less-sensitive, especially to differentiate between real-movement and position 'floating' when not in move.

I would like to have an option of automatic colouring of certain track cathegories. Eg: Plane track - black, Car - Red, Foot - Green. Of cours it would be perfect to have possibility to configure the colours. Now I have dozens of different tracks in different cathegories, and I n eed to give them colours manually, which is almost impossible with the color picker ( almost impossible to choose the same colour twice).

Instead of manually entering to GPS Status every few days to downlaod GPS Assistance data, it would be nice to have this functionality in Locus. In one app I even seen the possibility to downlaod specific data for certain region of the world.

Implemented / Beep on GPS signal LOST
June 07, 2011, 13:36:03
Sometimes im losing my signal and Im not aware of that. I'm thinking that my track is still being recorded, but it's not and Im discovering that when Im trying to save my track and there is almost nothing to save:( If there will be some beep when the signal is lost, I would be able to take a phone closer to the window or take if from a bag to increase the chance of finding a signal. BTW, beep on GPS signal found is really great!

Hey.
Is there any place where people are posting/publishing their own custom map sources and the XML that is being used to load them? Is there any repository of them?

PS. Why didn't you add Mapy.cz to Locus?
#16
Hi.
When I'm staring the app, GPS icon is showing in my Notification bar. But inside the application, GPS is off. I need to navigate to GPS/Satellites icon/window to manually turn the GPS On using the button.

Why? What is the point of that, why GPS is already using my battery, and GPS inside app is turned off. Can You make some option in Setting to make it permanently On?

3D Skyplot mode is beautiful. I really love it, but it should be a little bit more enhanced. I have a few ideas.

- Add possibility to zoom in/out
- Maybe put real/predicted orbits of the satellites?

There is no possibility to see in what direction the user is looking/going, so you cant see when these shown satellites are.
So maybe it would be nice to add the visible/known satellites to "Locus - addon AR"? I would be cool, and finally I would be able to see from what satellite i have good/weak signal, and then analyze where that satellite is and what obstacles are preventing from getting a better signal. Please, consider that. That would be awesome function. Maybe You have some ideas how to combine 3D Skyplot with addon AR?

Implemented / Auto-export of tracks and POIs
May 16, 2011, 18:19:36
Zdarec.

I have one wish, can You add functionality to periodic or when-new-added auto-export of tracks and POIs. Im syncing my GPXs and KMLs with dropbox, so it would be great to have it automatic. Beside that, it would be also useful to overwrite old export, not force the change of name (as it is now). Each track has 7 copies, all withe same size but different names ...001...  ...002... ...003... ...004... ...005... ...006... ...007... And this amount will increase.

Dik kamo!
