With Android 2.3.6 the functionality of using Locus with hardkeys and disable lockscreen worked fine with SGS2.
With the four hardkeys volume up, volume down, power key and home button I could "wake up Locus" directly to screen, after display was off. Specially the home button was my favourite while cycleing.
After upgradeing to ICS 4.0.4 only the Power key works as expected. The volume controls up and down don´t wake up Locus to screen anymore and the home button though wakes up the screen with a very short tap, but within the next second the taskmanager starts. So you have to tap back for closing the taskmanager.

Any advices to disable or to prevent the taskmanager to start, are welcome.

[battery drains from 100% to only 36%]

Today was my first cycle ride with Locus 2.5.0. I used vector maps without 3G and display most off. But on the road, after only two hours the the battery drains from 100% to only 36%.  :shock: In between my tour I rebooted the phone, because I thought there is anonther app in the background. But later with only Locus started to record the track, the same behaviour as before. I controlled only a few times, up to ten times I think my tour with display for 30 seconds each time.
Back home, I closed Locus waited two hours and the battery drains only 2%.

For compare: with Locus 2.4.x (2 or 3) battery losed only up to 10% per hour with the same maps and same controls with display.
Please have a look.

I loaded some OruxMaps maps onto the sdcard for Locus. Can this be a problem, because locus tries to read maps in background?

beside Cloudmade and Mapquest there is a third routing engine "Yours". What is it? Can I configure it by myself?
P. E. with this projekt: http://map.project-osrm.org/ ? Or is it possible to add others directly into Locus?

1. Moving direction line isn´t shown anymore, even it´s marked in settings
2. While recording a track in older versions the recording taps (Start, Stop, add waypoint etc.) were always shown at screen. Now they go the background and have to be activated by tap on menu "record a track". For me older versions worked better, because it was faster to add a waypoint, while being on tour.

Es soll angeblich auch in der Sonne noch gut ablesbar sein.
Und wie sieht es mit der Trackaufzeichnung aus? Es hat den gleichen GPS-Chip wie das Note (Broadcom 47511 mit Glonass), welches ich mal getestet hatte. Im Prinzip waren die Aufzeichnungen gut, aber m. E. nicht besser als die des S2 mit Sirf IV. Vor allem gab es an einer Stelle (vor einem Gebäude mit viel Stahl) immer wieder Reflexionen, so daß die Aufzeichnungen dort nicht zu gebrauchen waren.

I imported from http://vermessung.bayern.de/opendata/do ... e_gpx.html 500 Freizeitwege of Bayern. This works a while. So get a cup of coffee in between.
After having seen enough I wanted to throw them out. OK, go to tracks, filter imported, all shown. But if you want to choose all, Locus crashes until I threw out about 350 tracks by hand. What you can do is: Mark 50 or 80 tracks by tap on each and delete marked tracks.

sind die Taps auf Android 4 vertauscht? Auf dem Defy habe ich mal Cyanogen 9.2 installiert. Beim Beenden ist die OK-Taste rechts. :?:
Gleiche Locus Version auf dem S2 (2.3.5) ist die OK-Taste links.

I added the cycle routes to Volatile theme.
The theme should work with all maps, but only shows the cycle routes with the great maps from kechi61 (viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1990 or http://www.openandromaps.org). !! Other maps won´t show the cycle routes. !!
If you don´t want to use cycle routes you have either to use "normal" Volatile theme with kechi65 maps or other maps p. e. from jurajs viewtopic.php?f=43&t=1839
Howto: Unzip and do as described in viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1739 (thanks to brotbuexe).




Let me know, if it doesn´t work.
@menion, feel free to put it into Locus shop, but only if it works.

Hi,

I played a bit with cursors and created a red one based cursors_scinkk_basic_orange but with a small  change for movement cursor.
It works for me with SGS2.

Place the cursors_RED.zip to Locusiconscursors and choose it in Settings/Maps-Objects & .../ Maps Cursors



Maybe that it is not correct (to large or to small) for all Phones so let me know.

nachdem ich vergessen hatte, Locus im Haus abzuschalten, war am nächsten Morgen das Phone quasi ohne Akkuleistung.
GPS-Auto aus war abgeschaltet.
Habe es jetzt eingeschaltet
und  Aktualisierungsintervall auf 60 Sek
und max. Suche auf 900 gestellt.

Heißt das, wenn kein Empfang innerhalb 15 Minuten (900 Sek), schaltet das GPS ab, auch wenn der Empfang vorher (draussen) noch da war?

Ansonsten Frage: Habt Ihr einen Tip, wie der GPS-Empfang sinnvoll eingestellt wird?

Inspired by some users of this forum, I changed my older attempts a bit to the "Volatile"-theme.

What I did:
1. deleted the slopes
2. added contour lines, Volatile theme works with all maps, but contour lines are only shown with jurajs "contour" maps (viewtopic.php?f=43&t=1839 )
3. added refs to higher prioritized streets (motorways trunks primary)
4. changed color of wood and military *.pngs
5. changed color fof leisures and buildings
6. made paths, tracks, cycleways (blue) more visible for hikers and bikers.

(Volatile = not for eternity) feel free to use and change it.

Please try the new map overlay function:
Choose p. e. OUTDOORACTIVE map for your map. Goto functions/map overlays, choose
Online map "OSM Cyclo" as overlay and set opacity to 60%. Now you have the OUTDOORACTIVE map with all cycling relations. Very very nice. :mrgreen:

Funktionieren bei Euch die (Online) Google-Satellit- Karten am Mont Blanc und südlich?  Am PC geht´s. Bei Locus kommt die Meldung existiert nicht

is there a chance to add Soviet maps to Locus or provider.xml? They are old, but in some regions, if there are no OSM maps they may be helpfull.

Is there any (dutch) openstreetmap user, who can verify, if the IJsselmeer is correct mapped?
I wonder about the marshland and white water in the vectormap of the netherlands.
If you use online openstreetmap instead it looks, as there is no marshland, but all water..

I just played a bit with the render theme. This theme is a little more pale then the osmarender style. If you want you may test it.
Please copy the zip file to your /Locus/mapsVector/_themes and unzip it.

I changed some colors and patterns.

I calculated a route from Muenster (Germany) to Hamburg. Afterwards I added the offline and online altitude.
Online (Google) seems to be ok, but offline?  :shock:

kann das mal jemand verifizieren?
Neue Tracks werden bei jedem Neustart von Locus 2.1.0 immer wieder angzeigt, obwohl ich sie jedesmal abwähle.
Für die aktuelle Locussession sind sie dann nicht auf der Karte. Aber bei jedem Neustart kommen sie wieder und müssen erneut abgewählt werden.
