Troubles & Questions / Locus/ logs Folder
April 23, 2014, 18:55:04
Whilst doing a clean up of my phone I noticed that the Locus/logs folder had approx 1GB of files all named gps_data_[1398......].raw that appear to contain NMEA data.
After checking settings and making sure the Record NMEA is not set, also playing around with how I connect my B/T GPS to Locus, I found that they are only written when I connect by internal B/T manager. If I use an external B/T app (Bluetooth GPS Provider) these files are not written.
I have tried it with 2 GPS's, a Qstarz 818XT and a Dual XGPS150A and the results are the same.
Is it OK to just delete these files?

I downloaded WhereYouGo  a few months ago as there is a WhereIGo cache in my local area, but didn't use it as there was no off line mapping that I could use. Last night I got an update through Play Store allowing me to use the offline Vector maps from Locus. My question is, Menion is this being developed by or has a new developer taken it over?

Thanks balloni55 and menion, that explains why the attachment photo didn't upload. :)

Gave it and the new version of Geocaching4Locus a good testing today on Bodmin Moor, worked great, not one problem. Only one thing I am not sure about, how do you add an image to geocache log?
#66
Yes, the description would be more accurately " Automatically load additional waypoints when  cache is selected for display on map"

Sorry, just checked the last Pro version and as you said it works as the test version. As it was just one selection in the past (all or nothing) I never noticed.

Like balloni55 I have a problem with Automatic waypoint loading.
If I have no caches selected and make a selection in the Automatic waypoint loading in the Geocaching settings, when I select  caches the waypoints are shown.
Deselect all selections in  Automatic waypoint loading in the Geocaching settings , and the waypoints are still displayed. Even a restart doesn't hide them.
The only way to hide them is to deselect all caches and reselect again.
It is similar if I have caches selected and choose to show waypoints. The only way to display them is deselecting caches and reselecting them again.

Edit:-
One thing I forgot to mention, the GC Offlinizer now scales any images to fit the window. Happy with that. :)

After a little search of the Forum found this thread

Should never have my map switching problem again, after putting all maps in a new sub directory.

Today whilst on a route around a reservoir I noticed something strange. When guiding , if I moved my map away from the current position and then pressed the   " Show current location"  button the following happened.
1.The screen would flash to a map view I didn't recognise. But it was so quick to get a bearing on.
2. The screen filled with the caches visible at the zoom level I had previous selected and a bearing line. But with no map features and a cross hatch background.
3. The screen would flash and everything would be as expected.

The whole thing was over in 2-3 seconds

I think the problem was my doing. :-[
I have a series of downloaded Bing Ord Survey Maps covering the whole of the SW UK. I had selected the one corresponding to my home location prior to going out. But when I arrived on the Moors , (on a different map), as I have Auto-load maps of the same type selected in the Maps-advanced settings, the visible map was for the area.  But as the home map was still the selected map, on pressing the show current location button it would jump to the home map center prior to going to the GPS location. The reason it had only happened a few times was that  I switched to a Vector map to see if it did the same, which it didn't. But on switching back I had selected the right map.
I have just tried it in reverse on my phone to prove it, and yes it behaves the same.

Sorry for my stupidity  :)

@CaptKaos2: sorry, but this happen just once? I'm not sure I can imagive what exactly happen to you, but if it repeats more offten, we should try to solve it

It happened 3-4 times, but since yesterday I have tried to recreate it, but can't.
Hopefully on Saturday I will be in the same area I was yesterday and I can test it again.
It may be a problem with the Downloaded sqlitedb map I was using. Though that map I used on Tuesday and the problem wasn't present then.

I updated my SG SIII to version 2.20 pro last night, first thing I noticed was I lost access to all my cache databases. But a phone reboot brought them back.

Just took the latest test version for a run. The problem mentioned by Ivolino about screen being unresponsive when using a dashboard has gone. Worked well with my dashboard all day.

If you mean delete button is the remove button in the following quote from balloni55, I can't see a use for it, why would I need to delete a log.

one additional question, in "Logs" the 3dot button" behind a log i am able to "remove" the log. what is the benefit of this option?

As for clearing the filter. Can you code it to just be specific to the one point scenario, as there are occasions when I wish to keep the  filter on.

EDIT3:
i noticed a peripheral behavior while using the testversion.
If I open a cache via GC4L - Livemap, the import works as expected.
If I import a cache via GC4L - GCcode, locuspro automatically open to complete the import. ???

This has happened to me, I realised it was due to my setting Locus Pro as the default for opening caches from email, downloaded, etc..
