Implemented / Re: Waypoints edit by dragging

I understand correctly. Recorded track, or imported or created by your own ... all have same behavior in Locus. So it doesn't matter on source of track. Point editing is just not possible. I just expect that when you draw your own path, so in time you save it do database, you're sure, path is OK, so no more editing will be needed. I'll try to think about it, but cannot promise (mainly because I really do not see this as important feature and it is a little bit complicated for me to create)

no no, you're not missing anything. This is not currently possible, and I'm not if will be in future. You may delete wrong point on recorded track. This is way how to remove wrong point from track. Recommended method to edit track is on computer with some software or on GPSies web site (where you can directly upload track from Locus)

hmm quite interesting. I tried you file and NO Problem! ... weird. So only what can help me is some log with your crash

about expiration time for geocaches. Ok, as first step, I created ability to display and sort caches by last update time. So now you can see which caches aren't updated for a long time. I know you require some automatical mechanism ... I have to think more about it

anyway from first two parts of your list, all is clear? Searching method is as you discovered. You can access it from menu->functions->search of from right panel. It's only on main map screen because as you can see, it do not contain only search for POI, but much more

so, let's look on third part "waypoint action"
- only problem seems to be some missing call to google maps. As you probably discovered, when you tap on waypoint, there is under last bottom button, call to external applications like google nav, navigon (if installed) and some more. Waze can also be called from external application? Have to check ...

next, "cache hunting"
- quick switch from compass to map? Top left Home button. And back? as you discovered, compass button on right panel for example

"maps"
- no in-app navigation? Tap on waypoint and in bottom menu is guiding and compute path function

"on-the-fly"
 - no, why? simple reason ... all that georg do, violate terms of use of groundspeak! You can anyway use addon G4L, which do some online stuff

"nice to have"
 - "Online shared every time"? Don't understand ...
 - "circles" ... I'll think about it

ormoru, please ... I updated version in first post. Try it. There is no chance with vector maps so I suggest there will be still some problem at your phone. May you send me log with crash? Thanks!

Developers / Re: [DEV] - Locus Data API (BETA)
September 09, 2011, 20:13:20
ah I missed this important info .. you're downloading directly GPX files ... hmm ....

so
1) if you want to set callBack on points, then yes. You have to parse these data by your own and then set callback on Point object. This have also one more advantage ... it's then very simple to just display data on map (without need to import). Only display data from GPX file without ability to import is not possible. Reasons is one. When I'll for example import whole PQ only for display, number of information is so big, that it will surely kill application on OutOfMemory. I have to keep as many data as I can on SD card.

2) you may call locus directly I think ... something like
Intent intent = new Intent(menion.android.locus.core/menion.android.locus.core.MainActivity);should work. i do not tested it, but if this should be enough for you, I'll test it and add correct function into API

So it depend on you. If you want to write own parser and fill Point (and other) objects and send them to Locus, it's already in API and it will works fine I think (it's all used and well tested by geocaching4Locus addon). If you still want to send GPX file, I may test method 2) and add it into API but count that as I wrote - only displaying data from GPX without import will not be possible

hmm, sounds good :) ... ok, looks I'll have to test more ... thanks

hmm I really hate these maps ... I already wrote to NOP (owner of maps) few times. Last time he send me list of things I have to fix, which I did and since then, no response. I'll write him later about it ...

nice .. understand ...

so firstly,
every point you send over API can have "callback" method attached in it. Check menion.android.locus.addon.publiclib.geoData.Point.setCallback() method. It's used by almost all 3rd party addons, so you may try anyone. When user display point on map (your point), under last button will be this callback

about calling of addon. Do I need to call startActivityForResult? You may catch intent call, do whatever need and immediately return values to Locus. The import stuff you don't like is optional. If you just want to display data, you don't need to start import (it's optional parameter when you send data to locus)
