this is not about ram, it's about memory that system allow to application use. Hi-end devices allow around 24MB, low-end usually around 16. Locus itself take around 10MB, so there usually do not remain a lot of space for huge operations ... I really suggest separate import to few categories. I unfortunately cannot help here

I just tried to import 10k caches and it works quite good. Anyway I have SGS2 and it's not just more powerful, but mainly it allow to apps to use more memory then your phone. So I really suggest to separate your data to more categories. You'll also find working with more categories more comfortable then current with one big.

About deleting ... go to Categories screen and here you may tap on category and choose delete

when you press "import data" on data manager screen, there is checkbox on bottom "Only display". This is what I mean when i say only display :). Anyway uncheck this button and import data you want to display into some category. With this system there isn't any limit. Locus should handle really a lot of points. When you keep "Only display" checked, I suggest to limit number of displayed points. Here is problem that all data needs to be keep in memory and in case you want to display geocaches, there is really a lot of data.

anyway bongo I really suggest to test by your own. If you have any problem with importing few thousands of pois into category (not "Only display"), send me your problematic file and I'll look at it.

hmm import or direct display? Import should have not be limited ...

direct display is limited  by memory. In case of geocache I do not suggest to directly display more then 500 caches. About displaying points from database ... limit also depend on device, but should be at least around 20k points on low-end devices I think ...

Quote from: "stebu"On the other hand, the possibility to download directly from a web site is great!

Or would be if it worked :!:  :?:
On a 1072 point POI file (ZIP) I had to force close Locus. On a smaller file (40 POIs) Locus emptied the category, but did not add the new POIs.

Both files work when I download the zip files into a folder and then import from local file.

problem fixed now (not in new testing version yet). It's because I do not extract zip files after download. Now it works correctly

don't understand ... you mean map downloading? seems working for me ...

new version for testing ... with one nice feature ;)

hi guys,
seems like this topic, that was at start focused on on-board calibration of maps in the wild, now moved to even more serious topic - globally about map calibration. So let's go for a while back to on-board photo calibration. Work on improve of using calibrated maps in locus will start soon. I've successfully integrated one library that allow me more coordinate conversions then before, so I'm sure, map calibration will be fixed and improved, but not yet

now I need some testing and help with new photo calibration system ;) ... version here viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1250

hmm as my girlfriend told, it's really weird that two people from Czech discuss in English :) .. anyway truth is, that this can be useful information for anyone ...

so, I discovered that text displayed next to "by ...," is not 'owner', but "placedBy' variable, so try this ...

Hi Stebu,
in "center and zoom" action is small mistake. Purpose is to center and zoom to set all imported data visible. Now if you import less then 100 points, it center and zoom to first point only. Will be improved in next version. And yes, I also think it's nice feature. Together with ability to remember old urls and only display data instead of import, it's nice. During yesterday and today I added support for GroundOverlays from KML so some photos over map are now also possible ;)

hmm v tom logu jiná chyba není. To máš originální 1.6 systém nebo jsi so ho přepsal nějakým svým? můžeš se taky podívat jestli máš opravdu aktuální verzi 1.14.4 přímo v locusu? jestli ti to náhodou nenabízí jen nějakou starší aktualizaci
