no directly but you can use function called "Add new route". Run it, and then tap on first point and in popup tap on first + button. same for second point and on screen, you'll see distance

Troubles & Questions / Re: Data path
December 09, 2011, 21:54:36
this is really weird that this do not work. When Locus starts, it firstly check predefined locations, if there isn't locus directory. If find any, then it use it. If not, locus create directory on path that system return as a memory card (which in case of SGS2 is as you wrote - only /sdcard). "/mnt/emmc" is already added into Locus search path so it really should work. Hmm anyway I plan to add selectable directories for maps. I just need to create some "directory picker" first because writing path manually is really very stupid ...

hi,
parameter you changed, do not have influence on what you need. Just take whole locus directory and place it on sd card. This should work

hehe adding points to route during rotation is really funny :))

EDIT: gynta thanks, fixed and published

new test version ... there is a lot of changes, but if all problems will be fixed, I think it's good progress since last release ... feedbacks are of course welcome. About map speed with POI's, also how you like better labels? Labels also have finally priority so they're draw on top of other map items, they're also hiding in low zooms, same with PO (they change to dot's) or tracks (they reduce number of visible points) and more and more that should quite a lot improve user experience .. hope you'll like it ...

[CZ&SK] - diskuze o Locusu / Re: Mapy TAR
December 09, 2011, 19:46:14

Hi Joe,
to go back is usable "back" button on phone. Currently no extra functionality or scripts is allowed in these screens. About quickly switching back to custom screen, there should not be any asking. When you for the first time displayed your custom screen, then every other comeback, should show immediately without asking!

c) this is not possible in locus at all, but interesting idea.

Joe, whole system for custom screens is by my opinion something like "beta". I created this as example what can be done. It's usable but not too much powerful. Currently I have some other tasks that have priority, anyway I plan to support this feature a lot in future. So, for now, don't expect many news here anyway when you'll see that I started work on this again, please bombard me with requests :D

Declined / Re: OSM PBF map format
December 09, 2011, 11:22:20
Hi spukis,
on this is quite simple answer. PBF files are already supported. Firstly, LGPL license is a problem. I cannot use anything with this license. Secondly, Locus already support vector maps generated by tool from MapsForge library. This tool use osmosis as a main stream for data. So everything that osmosis can load, can be exported to MapsForge format. Description is here http://code.google.com/p/mapsforge/wiki ... terOsmosis

just for your info. I'm generating from planet file whole world as separate counties. Side step is generating of PBF files and then MapsForge format ...

not yet, but it's "secret" plan on next year. I already know about DEM data (I used them also in school) so I plan to use them ... it just matter of time. Because I don't know OpenGL, it'll take a lot of time anyway. And yes, whole team ... my girlfriend is helping me last cca two months with web ;). I also think that it's nice program for a guy who never studied anything about programming :)

thanks guys, i'll look at it ...

this cannot be true. Are you sure you are completely back? like you have no pseudo 3D?
