I still keep in mind some tasks for next month, just for your info
- fine-tune (or completely remove if useless) the auto-pause system for track recording
- next two months will be probably in the name of MapsForge vector maps
- and I also keep in mind the request of Joeloc for universal import, just not sure how to simply do it, yet ...

the new auto-pause really pauses a recording, so all indicators that inform about the recording should change.

by "maps page" you mean Locus Store right? This is very old known problem. Also because of the exists mentioned "Home" button  . I'm still unable to solve this and most probably, there will be new Locus Store sooner than this will be fixed ...

hmm so "only" a problem with the refresh of the profile on the app side. The name should be anyway correct in all other places as this is always downloaded fresh from the central database.

Yes, finally 
"New MF" ... it is not something new. Latest MF 0.18 is already in the app for some time and it is used for OAM or other V4+ maps.

Anyway, I'm contributing to the next 0.19 version here. There is already solved one major old problem that probably causes a big complexity of OAM themes and I've also reduced rendering speed to 2/3 . Just some good old hacks from my old customized version.

And more will come. @voldapet is currently very actively rewriting our LoMaps themes from scratch so there will be probably a need for some extra customizations, probably also useful for OAM.

Anyway, I may include this improved version in some of the next Beta if @Tobias or @john_percy or any theme developer will be interested. Let's talk about it rather in some separate topic as this may not be interesting for everyone ...

I've prepared new Beta version 4.12.2.6. If there won't be any serious problems, it is a version for release next week.

I've spent most of last week (or close to two) updating the original MapsForge library so, in one of the next versions, there will be performance improvement for OAM and other MF4-based maps. Later also converted LoMaps ...

I did no changes in the auto-pause system, so consider it as a "Beta" feature that simply needs some testing and time ...

Locus Map for iOS is currently in preparation and will be for sure published during the year 2023. But expect really limited functionality compare to Android version. Well, we are 10 years behind on the iOS so ...

The huge benefit of the new auto-pause system is, that it is independent of the GPS! So the app may turn GPS off and wait till get info that some movement was detected.

hmm, "Presets" and "Dashboards" are included in the "full" backup. Routing profiles are missing, good point (added). What I was thinking, was removing these two dummy manual backup systems and allowing manual & automatic backup to be fully customizable > so where and what to backup...

version name, ah typo, sorry. There was a minor and very quick 4.12.2 version, so it caused a little mess.

Auto-pause: I still do not know what to think about it, cause I also noticed some malfunctions and see no space for some improvements on my side. Will test it, but from my point of view, it is currently not ready to release.

I've not yet looked on memory problems, sorry @balloni55 , but I'm keeping it on my mind.

I would not be so strict with "does not get any new features anymore"  . As visible in the changelog of every version, I still do a lot of modifications also in the Classic version. But to be true, by intent I try not to add bigger new functions to the Classic.

The new version will be published probably at the start of December. Google forces us to do a big update in internal libraries so I need a little more time to test the app and fix a few more problems that appeared (mainly on Android 13).

what I use is called "Activity recognition". "Significant motion sensor" > did not know about it, thanks for the info. It does not give much info, but I'll check how it works, thanks!

yes sorry, this is a really really really old problem without a simple solution for now, already reported a few years ago by @joeloc and never solved. It needs a massive rework of the whole system on background, unfortunately.
