@menion
1. Geotagged photos were taken with phone camera and found by Locus in phone camera DCIM folder. Exactly the same behaviour for Locus quick photo point. It's the jpg icon that's the issue: Locus Pro has a middle sized version as well as a small thumbnail and full size attachment. (Edit: I've just found *one* of my photos works properly.)
2. If the blend mode doesn't work, either mend it or don't offer it! However I'd never had any problems until now. The biggest issue seems to be with Multiply blend though the failure to redraw was happening with SrcOver.
3. The "no base map" and "overlay disabled" messages only appear (sometimes) on first opening the map contents side menu immediately after loading Locus. A timing issue?

You are correct, the set up is incredibly confusing now, due largely to Android security restrictions.
I also now have two folders of profiles. As I understand it:
- in Locus mode Locus can access its own internal Brouter profiles plus the ones in /brouter/profiles2. It then communicates with Brouter via an api and Brouter then writes a copy of the selected profile into _its_ system data folder (Android/data...) under the name of remote.brf and uses this to calculate a route.
- in Brouter mode, Locus relies entirely on Brouter and the settings in Locus cannot be used and are greyed out. Brouter accesses its own system folder directly and uses either its default profile/mode mapping or the one you can set up yourself in the Brouter app. So, this uses the Android/data... folder. As far as I can see this way of doing things has little to commend it now and is largely historic.

I confirm the new Arndt's car profiles do have switches present if the switch defaults within the  profile are changed from false to 0.

In fact I did know it, noticing this issue earlier, when I was playing with generating car variants from Arndt's profiles, or combining my dry/wet bicycle profile variants into a single profile via my Linux/bash script on Android/termux.

But I have completely forgot about that.

There were originally available just 0/1 values for BRouter profile logical expressions. True/false values were implemented later and are currently preferred in newer profiles for explicit clarity. So it would definitely good to support them.

Note that uploaded Trekking-dry does work on BRouter 1.6.1, I use it all the time, exactly the copy I have provided.

Btw. no feedback from anyone on this: now, every profile has own value for parameters, they are not shared across all of them. There was a discussion a long time ago about this, and I finally feel, that this may be more useful, mainly because more and more parameters come into play.

Definitely a reasonable change! As different profiles can have different sets of parameters, saving the settings globally makes no sense (anymore).

@ Menion: leaving the menu route down goes with me. I just didn't know how and tried it wrong. But I think that the problem will come more often (or I'm particularly stupid) Tip: since then you have had an x to leave the menu. That was a visual aid. For swiping down (top, side) you could also do a visual aid. Instead of the x you could make an arrow here.
I will look at the subject of the compass needle again and report if necessary.

apologies to others for cross  posting but @menion your new topic [APP] - version 3.44.+ ( 20. 2. 2020 ) does not allow a reply/ post from an ordinary user, or at least there is no REPLY button at bottom of page. Maybe just for me?

So I will have to fix that.

So finally I fixed that in Version 1.6:  http://brouter.de/brouter/revisions.html

(not yet on Google Play)

regards, Arndt

For me, the mini icons appear in the bottom row if I chose to have five buttons in the bottom row but revert to normal size when I change to four buttons in the bottom row.
