After some break there is an update available for the world overview maps (Settings -> Maps -> Advanced features -> Pre-load global map):

Release notes:

The melting in the Ant-/Arctic makes the research there ever more important. Their list is updated according to current Wikipedia information, now with the Arctic stations, too.

In doing so, I extended the map coverage for ZL 7 to 10 - <a href="#Legend"><b>see here</b></a>. The collapse of memory card prices more than compensates for the increase in map sizes :-)

Settlements, Ferries and Power Plants are based on the 5th of July 2020 OSM database information.

From this data base, hundreds of province capitals have also been added.

For the first time a world map in PNG format is offered; i.e. all information of all zoom levels is rendered in loss free PNG format. That quality comes at a price: nearly 6 GB for ZL 1 to 10. That makes sense (only) for exports or screenshots from high res. devices. (Release 1.1 of PNG only available from Aug. 28th..)

All other world maps up to ZL 10 are compressed to JPEG quality 70 for their highest zoom levels. The regional maps with ZL 11+ are coded with JPEG quality 60.

Hi slarti76,
you can find the LIDAR based DTMs at http://data.opendataportal.at/dataset/dtm-austria
I doubt Asamm would volunteer to host the 25MB/piece data ...
Cheers
Michael

Great news: the latest LM4 test apk (#943) fixes the issue of "... no points ..." if you have more than about 60 POI DBs installed in total (installed, not visited, was the issue). Tested on my S10 - hope that persists on others ... Thank you, Menion !!

Experts and novices alike will always suffer from changes, yet changes are key to improvements and progress.
Hence - AGAIN - my advise to spend energy into a 21st century help and function (*) search capability. Android settings in many new devices deliver that: you type a word about what you want to do and get a number of matching functions/settings at your fingertip.
That does not address the ongoing UI discussion, I know. But the overwhelming (yet USEFUL!!!) settings have been a reported pain since years.
(*) each function and setting needs to have a number of keywords and synonyms associated. In the selected language and always plus English.

I think your approach, luxcalor, and my proposal are not mutually exclusive, but rather could be combined.
Both support scenarios that the other one does not.

I do not know - you should approach the author via github, I think.
Just tried it myself - works at a first glance.

I think the trigger for this series of issues is a choice BRouter DEV made: it enforces a new selection of storage path for the BRouter storage. I saw 3 or 4 options when upgrading to 1.5.x
You make the wrong choce, you are doomed - and to manually repair.

Hallo Rainer,
LG

BetterBatteryStats or a similar tool should tell what is happening behind the scenes.
Comparing old and new Locus version on the same device, screen off is key, and maybe a "virgin" restarted device should make results comparable. And show a smoking gun ...
