Hi, I made a very simple add-on mainly for myself but didn't want to keep it from you.

The add-on allows you to add a button to the main map screen for calling a configured phone number with a single touch.

How to use:



• Install the add-on from Play Store or via the APK file.
• From your apps screen/launcher, start "DirectCall Settings" and configure the desired phone number and additional settings.
• Re-Start Locus Map, tap the "set function panels" button, tap the "+" and then "Add function button". Select "DirectCall" from the category "Add-ons".
• Tap the newly added DirectCall button to start a test call. You may need to confirm the "phone" permission the first time you do this.

Features:

• Call a preconfigured phone number from the Locus Map main screen
• Optionally display a confirmation dialog before calling
• Optionally call with speaker enabled
• Starting "DirectCall" from your apps screen/launcher will also start a call, same way as the button in Locus Map
• DirectCall does not perform a VoIP call, but uses the default phone app on your device to start a regular phone call

Menu > More functions > LoPoints (offline) > triple dots (top right corner) and turn off "show on map".
These can come from the poi database associated with LoMaps or the database associated with OAMaps. The map doesn't need to be active for the database to be used. If you have both LoMaps and OAMaps points will be duplicated!
I believe that currently the symbol set used is the one from the theme selected for Mapsforge V3/LoMaps, even if the active map is a V4/5 map. If changing the symbol set is the issue, you need to have a LoMap installed (delete the .db file if you wish) and select it and your chosen V3 theme (Elevate LE) before switching to your V4/5 map. This only needs to be done once.

ich hab heute LMP deinstalliert und wieder neu installiert und ein Backup mit meinen Einstellungen zurückgespielt.
Die erste Trackaufzeichnung zeigte auch bei mir, dass bei ausgeschaltetem Bildschirm das GPS ausgeschaltet wird und somit diese geraden Verbindungs-Linien bis zum erneuten Einschalten des Bildschirmes entstehen.

Neben dem schon besprochenen  ausschalten der Akku-Optimierung musste ich weiter zwei Einstellungen im  Smartphones vornehmen
- Einstellungen/Apps/Locus Pro/Berechtigungen >Speicher&Standort/Standort > immer zulassen
- Einstellungen/Apps/3-Punkte Button rechts oben/Spezieller Zugriff/Geräteadministrator-Apps > LocusMap Pro einschalten

jetzt läuft die Trackaufzeichnung auch bei ausgeschaltetem Bildschirm weiter

@tapio - thanks - I now have the OAM v4 & OAM v5 maps for my region, and the results are quite interesting/ useful?

4.5.5.3: I have a single ZIP theme. I select the v4 map. I tap the Map Themes button and the list of themes is correctly displayed - internal General theme + single external theme. I then select the v5 map, tap the Map Themes button. The green message is not displayed, instead a blank side panel appears (note I am testing with a tablet in landscape mode).

@menion - useful info? Shall I create a log file?

4.5.6: tap Map Manager > select the v5 map > return to main screen. But I *think* the v5 map isn't selected/ tap has been silently ignored, because when I next tap Map Manager: v4 map is still selected.

All my testing is on an Android v11 tablet, but on the Android v8 phone the v5 map is working fine. I copied v5 .db & .map files to tablet 2nd time in case slightly corrupt, but same behavior as already described.

So anyone has any troubles with existing themes in this latest Beta version or generally any other problem, please let me know. I'll publish tomorrow hopefully the latest bug-fix version to Google Play.

Also for Locus Map Pro, unfortunately without "All files access" > Google declined our request already twice in row . So I'll try to find a method to generate a custom "Pro" version with this access just for Google Drive download. But this later.

But it would be up to Menion to always look at int SD mapsVector for themes, even if the maps are on ext SD.
@Menion: what is your judgement, pls. ?

Sounds reasonable, and I additionally think the theme folder name is just a historical, but ugly thing (mapsVector\_themes). I'd even drag them up one level, so that we may have all extra content on one level...

It's always a pain to set up syncs (e.g. with FolderSync) that sync the themes but not the (big) map files.

Same global map thing in my migration. But easy fix to set it right manually.

Of course, just thinking about newbies or people being unaware, it's after all a setting that you usually set and forget...

@tapio As far as the v5 maps are concerned, data for MTB and cycle networks is now separated. Also the names of hike, bike and MTB networks are now preserved. That's new in v5.
As far as the theme is concerned, it's now able to display any two of the types of network at the same time, with highlights on one on each side of the path or track, and blobs alternating. That's new in this version, largely because of the changes in v5 maps.
Screenshot is of cycling and MTB networks along the same route. If the user selects to show only one of the types of network (or there is only one network) the highlight is displayed on both sides of the route.

@Menion: after rereading carefully I understood that the backup folder can be outside of the private Android/data realms.
I tried and it worked.
From your earlier explanations I do not understand why such would work. And why not for all the other needs.
Can you pls enlighten me?

I think with this function only writing is allowed but not reading.
So it is only usable for backup.

1) hard to say, there should not be check you describe, but seems it will need a special version with some special logs ....
2) for anything other then selected directories? (now backup, all kind of maps, srtm)

Will you add other folders to the int/ext system? My Maps folder is pretty big (3gb because mbtiles, Geonames 1+ Gb).

Do a backup of whole "Locus" folder if you want to be sure.

Anyway, you understand it well. Based on the push in the last few days, I was looking at how to do it and found that it won't be so hard at all. So now, the app offers move of custom directories with new options and it looks like this (check screenshot).

On the A11+, the third option won't be available of course.

I agree with you that it is a dirty trick of Google that you cannot even share (large) osm maps which do not contain any sensitive data to be protected. That app developers can't even stand up to the giant means that the fourth realm already exists. Docile and obediently follow what is imposed, no resistance allowed.
