I was thinking about editing. Perhaps it would be enough to add a small button with a direct link to editing text via the eight or Wiki website. Depending on where the text is taken from.

Since a couple of years now, Locus dies frequently and silently on current Samsung devices. This happens 3 times a day at least for me at the moment (Samsung Galaxy S20FE), mostly while I do other stuff with the phone. For example, when I take a few pictures or videos with the Samsung Camera App, you can almost bet on Locus (and its track recording) either dying or more likely being killed by Samsungs aggressive OS. NONE of the messy Android options on this will help, nor will running Locus as a service change things. Locus simply dies silently and will obviously no longer record any track.

This is a real shame... and it's basically getting worse with every OS update. I run a "watchdog" since a few months that checks for Locus every minute and restarts it when it's gone. That kind of works against losing tracks, but is really an ugly solution.

It happens to me and to a friend as well (Galaxy S20 Ultra), we both have comparatively large databases. Maybe that makes Locus use more memory and Samsung more likely to kill it when running other apps? I have no clue really, and I can't make any suggestions on how to fix this. I just wanted to point out that this long standing problem is far from being solved... and it's a major nuisance if you cannot rely on your track being recorded.

My ticket was eventually resolved via a return of the spent money so that I can get the Gold Sub with it instead, so yay and thanks!

What a stupid idea with re-signing apps?? Not just Locus, but many different apps won't work correctly after this!! Bleee

@Žajdlík Josef
hmm, it will probably need a higher internal ID for Beta versions. I'll keep this in mind.

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.6.+ ( 02/2022 )
February 02, 2022, 14:20:29
I've today published a new version of the Locus Map 4 on Google Play. Today only for 25% of users, rest in next days. If anyone wants to test & play with it (or with the Locus Map Pro version), they are all already available on Google Drive!

Just for your info, why I do not communicate often as usual. Well, winter, some team planning, family require also some more time now, some illness and working on the system for one-time payments that consume most of my (not just) time. So nothing special and unusual, but just informing that app is still in progress   8)

Stay all healthy and don't be too much hidden at home like me, it does not worth it  ;)

Meine Vorgehensweise:
unter Android 11 / LocusMap Pro 3.56.5 mit OAM v5 Karten:

in der app unter Einstellungen zuweisen:
Hauptverzeichnis der app:
intern

Unterverzeichnisse für mapsVector:
intern (d.h. storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus.pro/files/Locus/mapsVector)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

storage/1234-5678/Android/media/menion.android.locus.pro/mapsVector bzw. /maps

- und die themes widerum im internen Ordner (!!):
Android/data/menion.locus.pro/files/Locus/mapsVector/_themes

- srtm Höhendaten extern unter:
storage/1234-5678/Android/data/menion.locus.pro/files/Locus/data/srtm

(wo man will, kann man die broutersegments4 und POIs auf der externen SD Karte ablegen;

Add-ons & Co-apps / DirectCall Add-On
January 10, 2022, 09:18:43
Hi, I made a very simple add-on mainly for myself but didn't want to keep it from you.

The add-on allows you to add a button to the main map screen for calling a configured phone number with a single touch.

    How to use:

    • Install the add-on from Play Store or via the APK file.
    • From your apps screen/launcher, start "DirectCall Settings" and configure the desired phone number and additional settings.
    • Re-Start Locus Map, tap the "set function panels" button, tap the "+" and then "Add function button". Select "DirectCall" from the category "Add-ons".
    • Tap the newly added DirectCall button to start a test call. You may need to confirm the "phone" permission the first time you do this.

    Features:
    • Call a preconfigured phone number from the Locus Map main screen
    • Optionally display a confirmation dialog before calling
    • Optionally call with speaker enabled
    • Starting "DirectCall" from your apps screen/launcher will also start a call, same way as the button in Locus Map
    • DirectCall does not perform a VoIP call, but uses the default phone app on your device to start a regular phone call

    Source code is available on
GitHub.

Menu > More functions > LoPoints (offline) > triple dots (top right corner) and turn off "show on map".
These can come from the poi database associated with LoMaps or the database associated with OAMaps. The map doesn't need to be active for the database to be used. If you have both LoMaps and OAMaps points will be duplicated!
I believe that currently the symbol set used is the one from the theme selected for Mapsforge V3/LoMaps, even if the active map is a V4/5 map. If changing the symbol set is the issue, you need to have a LoMap installed (delete the .db file if you wish) and select it and your chosen V3 theme (Elevate LE) before switching to your V4/5 map. This only needs to be done once.

@peter_mars

- Einstellungen/Apps/Locus Pro/Berechtigungen >Speicher&Standort/Standort > immer zulassen
- Einstellungen/Apps/3-Punkte Button rechts oben/Spezieller Zugriff/Geräteadministrator-Apps > LocusMap Pro einschalten

Does it show the v5 maps info? I think I can be really lucky to still be on Android 10.
Ooh, TAS, on the edge of the flat earth 😁

Merry Christmas to everyone here, great community.
