Oh, this is Locus Free, and I have Pro. I am working in the heli tomorrow and definitely need the Pro features, so I will wait for the Pro release this coming week. Thank you again!!!

OMG that was fast. Will test today and let you know. This will be a big help for what we do here. Altitude of waypoints is critical for helicopter ops :-)

Troubles & Questions / Altitude in exported KMZ
March 22, 2014, 19:11:01
I imported some simple waypoints from KMZ. These waypoints do not have any <description> at all. They show OK including linking to the style and icon etc.

These waypoints have no altitude info - just longitude, latitude in <coordinates>. So I edit these in Locus and Fill Altitude. This works OK. Now the waypoints show their altitude when their box pops up under the X.

Now I export these to back KMZ (without asking to insert the formatted description). The exported KMZ does not have the altitude in <coordinates>. Remember, Description is empty from no <description> in the imported KML. The filled altitude is indeed a permanent part of the waypoint as exiting and restarting Locus shows the filled altitude is still there in its internal data for that waypoint.

If I include the formatted description option in the export, then it puts some HTML into a new <description> element added to the KML. Within this HTML is the altitude.

I believe the altitude, if available (!), should be exported as the third part of the <coordinates> element, and it must be in meters.

Maybe you can say why not run Locus as service? It is possible that you have a concern that is not really a concern? It is wonderful to continue to create a track while the device is in your pocket or backpack.

This is what I see on Tapatalk 4 for the message "hmm in tapatalk is really not any settings for this, as I see. And here on forum is only this ..."

Only a broken image. Yet it does show on the forum in the browser. Did you use the "Add Image to Post" feature so it is on postimg.org? Or is the image somewhere else? For the Add Image to Post, there is a selection of sizing options.

Wishlist / Re: AccuTerra Topo Maps

AcuTerra maps for our area (Central Arizona) are far less detailed and have many errors in roads and road/feature names compared to MyTopo.

@menion -- on #168 (blank settings pages), I noticed that while displaying the satellites, from that menu if you open GPS and Location settings, they show fine! But doing it from the main "gear" Settings icon, all settings pages are blank. It is strange.

HINT: If your newly created map has strange problems, select it in Offline Maps, use the Tools icon, and select Reinitialize Map. You will be asked to designate the provider of the map. I have used this to correct seamless joining of separate but adjacent sqlite maps.

I would prefer something else too  8)

Troubles & Questions / Re: sqliteDB autoload
September 23, 2013, 21:36:25
I made some sub-area maps with MOBAC, and they wouldn't auto-join until I used the "Reinitialize map" function. That is magic!

I was told on JellyBean that 2Gb was the limit. I also am surprised that you succeeded with larger.

Thank you for your work!

I'm sorry to have uncovered a complicated problem. I do appreciate your work!!

I will be going to the Airborne Law Enforcement Association national conference next week. I will be showing Locus Pro as an airborne mapping system and how it completely beats anything else out there!!!

I tried it again and now the problem is only for when you are to the "side"

When in track-up mode,  the course/distance to screen center from present position becomes unreadable unless the screen center is for a position behind you.  If you are 'far'  behind or off to the side of the screen center, the numbers are off screen.

The Locus/data/import folder needs a .nomedia file. I imported several KMZ sets of waypoints with special icons. The icon images were stored by Locus (during import?) in folders below the import folder. They showed up in Gallery as a bunch of albums named "files". Needless to say I wasn't interested in those PNG icons in Gallery :-)
