With today's update of StreetView the Locus interface to it is broken, though the functionality remains

It is a limitation of GraphHopper that it can't compute routes from one map area to another. Have you tried BRouter? That works well for me offline.

A quick test on my Voluntary theme seemed to indicate that you could do this by styling the natural/nosea and natural/land tags. I tried it with both a Locus map and an OAM one.

England and Scotland do have their own flags, while the map of Ireland covers both the Republic of Ireland (Eire) and Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom. But no matter, I mentioned the flags by way of explanation rather than complaint.

1. Tapping on the MapApps graphic button on the info screen from a popup, gives a further MapApps button (why?). Tapping on that again gives some MapApps, and yet another MapApps button! That probably needs some GUI improvement.
2. Also the system bottom buttons replace the Locus ones after the first tap. This bug is not completely fixed.

There is something here I don't get. I have all my vector maps in one folder, named /storage/sdcard1/LocusMaps/mapsVector. Here is the so-called smart display for my maps, with the folders both collapsed and expanded:

It really looks like two different folders, in two different locations, MAPS and MAPSVECTOR, doesn't it? What is gained by that?
Below is an indication of what would work for me:

One folder, with Locus Store maps indicated by  an "L".
Of course I don't see the flags that some of you do as Locus doesn't know anything about flags for the constituent nations of the United Kingdom.  >:(

@menion: When next you update the GraphHopper add-on, could you put the hiking image to the right of the cycling image in the dialogues, for the sake of consistency, please!

All I can say with regard to the most recent posts is that I still think Locus is great and Menion responds well (generally) to comments and requests! I just didn't like what I saw in the new beta and commented accordingly...

Anyway, to move on:
In full screen mode, tapping on a point popup gives the point info screen (first screen shot) with the buttons along the bottom. Tapping on either of the two rightmost buttons makes an option menu slide up and the system buttons replace the Locus buttons (second screenshot). Tapping elsewhere (or returning, where possible) leaves the system buttons.

Looks like I was wrong. Sorry. I have had the recalculation problem before but I can't reproduce it now.

@menion: My point 2 was a response to your point 2 (logical?). A custom icon for the map removes the need to separate the folders and give them custom icons. And all the maps can appear in the same structure.
But I'm not sure what you mean by merging all the Germany maps into a single item. My Locus England and Locus Wales maps still appear as two items. Or is this only for new maps?

As I understand point 1, what is required is a structure like this:
MAPS (folder)
- EUROPE (folder)
- - France (map)
- - GERMANY (folder)
- - - Bavaria (map)
- - - Berlin (map)
The Germany folder is within the Europe folder. The Europe folder also contains single country maps. The Germany folder contains the maps of Germany. The display matches the physical attachment of folders.
For point 2, I had suggested a graphic 'L' beside the name of the map to indicate it is a Locus one, if that's what you want to do. As an alternative or in addition users can rename maps as already suggested.
#867
@menion: you may have sound commercial reasons for separating the Locus Store maps from the others and using folders with a big L but for me as an end user I don't see the point. It looks ugly and confusing. Better, IMHO, would be to flag the maps themselves with an L or similar and respect the actual folder tree arrangement.

You have probably got auto recalculation turned on in the navigation settings. It makes sense to recalculate the route from where you actually are of you deviate from it. However that function messes up preparing routes from somewhere other than your current location.

Themes - Vector maps / Re: dpi independent map/theme
September 04, 2015, 19:06:10
I finally got round to testing this in an emulator. The three screenshots represent the same physical size screen at 120, 240 & 480 dpi respectively.
To cover the same area of land requires different zooms, and the appearance is not totally the same. Roads are wider in the higher dpi display, and more items will "appear" due to the higher zoom.
However, I can imagine that the higher detail of the the higher dpi might mean that one wouldn't need to zoom in so much in any case.

What happens with a scalable theme like my Voluntary UK, where everything is defined in terms of dp?
