Themes - Vector maps / Re: [Theme] Voluntary

@Tapio The "duckless" version was a special request with nature reserves shown differently, without the repeating duck overlay.

Themes - Vector maps / Re: [Theme] Voluntary

The latest version of the Voluntary themes will display Ordnance Survey crag markings on the latest OAM maps of Great Britain, Scotland, Wales, the Lake District and the Shetland Isles.
See first post to download.

If you don't mind digging into XML you could use an offline map and theme from openandromaps and modify the XML of the theme so that admin_level 4 is made thicker.

If you can access the folder with the maps stored in it, rename (eg) england.osm.db to england.osm.dbx or similar.
Be aware that this will affect offline searching for places, and also pop up info on points.
You could rename the .db file associated with your other map as an alternative. Try it and see which suits you best.

I believe OAM maps only include boundaries of admin level 1,2,3,4. I'm not sure about Lomaps but you can experiment with the theme.

Level=1 (supranational) is not rendered.
Levels 2,3,4,5,6 are rendered in this theme if they appear in the map data.

You can try the attached. Use in the same way as the contours files.
(If you are using Tapatalk app, use the link rather than the attachment)

Do you have a map with administrative boundaries that you want to use as an overlay?

Would it be possible to have an alternative extension other than .lnk for the link to the legend for a theme? I have in mind, say, both .lnk and .link working.
Why? Currently it's a pain if you use Windows to prepare the files, as Windows assumes the file is a Windows shortcut, hides the extension and treats it accordingly.

Have you selected Dynamic Scale in the theme's style menu?

Menu > More functions > LoPoints (offline) > triple dots (top right corner) and turn off "show on map".
These can come from the poi database associated with LoMaps or the database associated with OAMaps. The map doesn't need to be active for the database to be used. If you have both LoMaps and OAMaps points will be duplicated!
I believe that currently the symbol set used is the one from the theme selected for Mapsforge V3/LoMaps, even if the active map is a V4/5 map. If changing the symbol set is the issue, you need to have a LoMap installed (delete the .db file if you wish) and select it and your chosen V3 theme (Elevate LE) before switching to your V4/5 map. This only needs to be done once.

The external themes are XML text files and can be edited by any text editor. I use Notepad++ on a PC and Quickedit on Android.
Sadly I don't think there is an overall guide to how to write a theme. I suggest you start with an existing theme and tweak it according to what you want to change.
Locus has its own help here (for its themes for LoMaps): https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:advanced:map_tools:theming
A good reference to the tags for both LoMaps and Mapsforge v4+ maps is here: https://www.openandromaps.org/en/oam-forums/topic/mapsforge-rendertheme-reference#post-2830

Your first picture is themes for LoMaps and version 3 Mapsforge maps, the second one is for version 4 or 5 Mapsforge maps, such as those from OpenAndroMaps. The maps identify themselves as what version they are; Locus offers the corresponding themes, which identify themselves in their header.

@tapio I've turned down the gold tint somewhat, extended the wood rendering to lower zooms, and tweaked the highlight colours for MTB and hiking routes. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/61b34ef373e7e/Voluntary%20V5%20tapio.zip

It's the Simple SVG interpreter that has a limited instruction set. I don't know how to deal with this other than by trial and error but generally open the SVG file Inkscape, ungroup everything, convert all to paths, combine paths as far as possible, simplify paths, clean up the document and save as a simple SVG (not an Inkscape SVG). That seems to work but someone may give a better answer.
