I mentioend this as an idea a long time back...

but the Android Tacical Kit, which is used by paintballers, airsofters, military and emergency responders has a lot of similar functionality with Locus, but there are a lot of things ATAK does that locus doesnt

I was wondering what extra features we could add to locus to make it more usefull as an alternative to ATAK


for example, being able to share the url of a video feed of a camera/drone to a chat group....
using a tasker scene button/locus dashboard button to send PTT voice emssage to chat roup

Updating chat status using tasker

being able to send a locus message that triggers an emergency alert/SOS if member of party in trouble.


sending manual check in requests to a team to check on everyones safety..

Using LORA with locus..

a point in several folders.

The thing about points, for example if I have a folder called castles, and i add photos, descriptions, opening times...with new system its easy to have Castles as a folder within Places to visit etc

but if for exampel wanted to have a collection of points for an upcoming holiday...

what would eb easy is to have a text field in each POI, and we can put in free tags....

and then below the folders we have saved searches, and one of teh search criteria could be tags

this would give the functionality of a point being in multiple folders ( just tag in advance) but also be usefull for people who repeatedly search for things.....

A long time ago you mentioned a trips system

This could be achieved by allowing

1. Folders to have extra properties, description, orl, atatchments, in the same way that POI do...

2 For pois and tracks to e able to be placed in multiple folders ( so folders become tags/labels)


What are the chances for new library to include these?

I sometimes route track with my watch gps, whch also has a compass, in case locus recording fails....


re battery drain, if cellphone signal was getting weak, power drain can spike a lot....

try a test with airplane mode on.....

Gerasim has used locus for years for navigation in teh sherp ATV, this is one of the biggest sherp dedicated youtube channels, anyway he posted a locus video today.....

However, i keep forgetting this forum exists and tend to use the helpdesk....

ive spent too much time on the help forum and not on this forum..

Anyway...i use method 1 with a  regex...i actually have a meta task that then brings up a menu of all my tasks that are locus related....

also i shale the phone as well, and this cycles through my different presets.....

while the locus tasker plugin is excellent, and its great for pulling data,  its a pity that tasker cant react to locus more, and that locus cant show tasker variables in dashboard etc...

another common problem is the android automatic permissions removal if you dont use an app for a while.

This is interesting, I hope this means that POI, PhotoPOI, Lopints will start to merge together
having a photoPOI, that doesnt rely on local media, that can be synced is quite important, 

effectovely a private lopoint.

im running latest locus 4.15 on 2 devices, Samsung with A13, and pco with A12, just checked the Tasker function is working fine and its launching my tasks ( a tasker menu)

but i did notice i had to click on it twice....

what app permissions do you have for the plugin and tasker/locus

That feature isnt there yet
in the mean time, bluestacks emulator, install locus, sync tracks
but also you need to sync the media folder, perhaps with foldersync app or similar....
as that contains the defaut photo POI

Am I just trying to do the wrong thing, and that the planner really doesn't have much of a function at all, and that I'll need to find another desktop programme to do the offline route editing work?

Perhaps try bluestacks android emulator, install full locus, then you can work on route fully, and then sync to tablet....

EDIT: Ah I see, Gold = 2100 per year according to above screenshot.

Paying with LoCoins is a bit more expensive then, I will do it anyway, also to support the team

100 LoCoins > 1,19Euro that makes 24,99 Euro/year vs. GooglePlay 23,99/year

ive just paid with locoins, bought 1060 locoins for £9.63
google play subsctiption is £20.99    with locins the same is £19.07 so locoins is cheaper....
and as i havnet been using the free 600 locoins a year, even cheaper again...
