Information / Re: notifications of old posts

Hmm, unfortunate. Ignore it, please. I'm just re-organizing an older topic and have to do it manually one-by-one. Sorry.

Yes, we are finally official  :-*

I'll re-organize a few categories on the forum and the new topic for LM4 is here: https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=7273.0 .

Well, what to say ... is Thanks enough? Maybe not, but it is probably not important. I believe, you here are mostly satisfied with the changes we did last in almost two years. Weather at least in central Europe starting to be really nice so I wish you mainly: stay healthy (families as well) and enjoy at least a little hike & bike adventures. It is something that connects us right?  ;)

Incorrect translation for "online" search, thanks.

Main menu:
Order of the submenu.
"My subscription" is not often needed. Actually only once. This point could be completely down.
"Settings" are often needed. This point can be completely up.
My subscription is still the pro before. That does not exist anymore. Missed gold or silver.

Good question. Auto-sync is triggered by
a) notification from the web portal that something has changed (new content from the web planner or finished sync of any other device that modified data)
b) change in the local database, so new saved/deleted point/track/group

Track recording itself does not start sync, no matter if you pause etc. Anyway, in the moment you finish recording and save the recorded track, after that, the sync should start (a moment later).

Divide manual sync > all networks, automatic > wi-fi sounds logical. I'm adding this to list of ideas to consideration, thanks.

@balloni55
check my two screenshots below. Do you have the same name in app settings? Then app recognizes that you are the owner.

@GMDD
Do not buy a pig!
Do you have working Locus Map Pro logged into Locus Store with the same account on your device? Please double check it. Thanks.

@Andrew Heard
nope.
- LM Pro never had "inner" Brouter. If you talk about using an external BRouter app from Google Play, it remains possible no matter what version/premium plan you use.
- alternative routes were also not part of the Pro version.

Maybe you used some beta versions where this was enabled? But never in official production.

Family subscription: look, we almost two months computed expected cost on our servers etc. For a very long time we worked with only a single subscription. But it looks that running servers, LoMaps, LoPoints, all these stuff are so expensive, that the price can't be lower to be safe on our side. So increase? Yes it is. On our side, as well, a huge. Because of the price, we decided maybe a month ago, to create also a Silver tier. This is quite a cheap alternative for users without the need for cloud services and also a big risk for us.

Plain/Hill/Mountain makes sense as a triad, and has no rude obscene connotations that I am aware of (an important consideration when using a foreign language).
However, my first thought was actually that the proposed naming appears to tie the Locus tiers rather strongly to the intended usage. If I walk or ride mainly in the plain, do I want the Plain version? Maybe it has no contour lines? Maybe the Hill version stops working above 1000m and the maps disappear in mist?

I totally agree.

I know that free, base, advanced are less fun names, but they better describe the version of locus.
sleeping bag, camping tent, resort, just kidding.  :D

Thanks!

Are there any plans to add also points/geocaches to the online map? Points/geocaches that I have imported in Locus and I have synced them to cloud? Simple name+icon. This would be great to plan geocaching trips as it will be faster to prepare track online and just sync it back to Locus.

QuoteAction in background: I have absoluitely no idea. How long visible was this notification?
these notifications are visible on my device as long as
- i open it once
or
- swipe it out
That's a Google/Android thing. To my knowledge, for every app that you've given full background location access, after a while this notification appears to "remind" you've given those rights to the app. After swiping it off once, it never appears again (in my experience). Since Android 9, I think. Nothing Menion (or any developer) can do about.

Record button color: It is common for the color to be red. That's why it should stay that way.
@freischneider - the track record button is green in LM3/4. It has been for > year or more.

I find it useful to visually scan "state" buttons - satellite, track record, POI, Live Tracking, and see that all green means all on/ all OK.

Hallo zusammen,

@Frivold
... If there will be more people interested in the old behavior, I may create an expert setting for this behavior.

Hi Menion,
expert setting for LM4 is the perfect way. With the search capability in settings, there is no added complexity. And an additional expert setting take more like minutes than hours of work, right ?
Pls. count me as "interested", too :-)
TXs and cheers
Michael
