Quote from: "menion"so I should compare where are main differences in stored format and try to fix map 4. thanks

Hi Menion,

I made 3 Versions, zoomlevel 10-14:

uprocessed
jpeg 50% compression
png 8bit (the smalest file by far, ...if OK)

Permalink: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=48.29 ... 0&layers=M
Zip-File: www.openandromaps.org/files/shade_test.zip

Thanks for all your efforts,
Christian

Hi,

All I can say is that I can confirm this
In addition if you try to reprocess the tiles as png (8/4bit) the screen is black.

The unprocessed version is IMO useless because of the size of the resulting file.
@Menion, is there any way to get a reprocessed (small) offline hillshading sqlite file working in Locus?

Quote from: "jusc"and another question.
I have a shared folder in a virtual box running androVM_vbox86tp_4.1.1_r6.1-20130222-gapps-houdini-flash.
But how can I use this shared folder with Locus? Locus doesn´t see this folder. I want at least to interchange some files from PC to the VM.

Any hints are welcome.

Hi Jusc,

I'm exactly on the same config and use the TotalCommander to copy files back and forth to the shared folder - in fact I have two of them
one for the mapfiles
one for the themes
The shared folder is direct in /mnt so maybe Locus can't see this
(hmm I suppose this area is only visible for root-apps, however I'm no expert with Linux...)

Hello,

Is there any way to use the mousewheel for zooming in Virtual-Box ?
(I know this is a kind of "luxury-problem", however it would be fine if someone have managed this.... ;-) )

Quote from: "menion"...you may also use advantage of SVG support and support for also some special tags, like rescaling icons based on zoom. We use this in internal themes so it should be well tested. Just for your info ;)
Hi Menion,

I'v took a look at these features some times ago an these are exactly the ones that I miss with standard mapsforge. However, actually my timebudget is close to zero so I set a link to Jusc's Voilatile-bundle at this forum. Seriously - his themes are better than mine ;-)

Hi all,

Sorry for late answer, there was a faulty Theme online for some hours, please redownload the latest ones from my site, they are working.
I haven't checked compatibility with locus for some days cause my SD-Card corrupted Locus an I had to replace it and reinstall Locus.

The problem with the themes was a C/P-snippet from the orux theme with a wrong path.
The advantage of the new theme is that the symbol for campsites is rendered for those tagged as attributes to areas too.

Sorry for the faulty theme  :oops:

And yes, the themes included in the downloads of the maps are for Orux only, I include them in every map couse Orux lacks the comfort of a themeswitcher like Locus.
The Themes for Locus are available at the header every Downloadsection.

Quote from: "voldapet"No doubt we have problem with rendering ways with Layer<0.   There is internal logic in Mapsforge that print ways in order of Layer tag. I guess that Christian move all tunnels to the base layer ...maybe we can do the same thing.

The issue with Milton Keynes is little bit different. The last vector UK map contains special blue polygon which is placed under lands polygons (it should solve "white sea" issue).  Unfortunately missing ways are rendered under this sea polygon...strange. For new generation I'll have to change the layer attribute for mentioned sea polygon.

Hi Peter,

You are right, I set land/sea both to level=-5 so there is no problem with other OSM Data.
The tunnel+highway layers are set to +1 ("0" is not enough), however it could be set to +5 because these tunnels are rendered as seperate style in the theme.

<name>Adjust tunnel Layers</name>
<description>Adjust tunnel Layers</description>
<match type="way" mode="or">
<match>
<tag k="highway" v=".*"/>
<tag k="tunnel" v="yes"/>
<!--tag k="layer" v=".*"/-->
</match>
<match>
<tag k="railway" v=".*"/>
<tag k="tunnel" v="yes"/>
<!--tag k="layer" v=".*"/-->
</match>
</match>
<output>
<copy-all/>
<tag k="layer" v="1"/>
</output>
</translation>

Quote from: "jusc"I can confirm this. With older maps the railway is shown. Maybe in the past the railway was tagged in another way?
You are right, it was tagged as narrow_gauge, this tag is included in the openandromaps tagset.
Anyway, I will add the miniature tag from level 15 on in the next updates.

Hi Norbert,

Quote from: "koksch"-- streams
Some streams are covered by areas (wood, meadow, ...). So the Prießnitz in Dresden at N 51°04.588', E 13°45.701'. (After outcommenting the rules for forest, wood, ... one can see these streams on the map.)
Its definitly the Layer-Tag. Looking at the stream in question it seems that this layer tag is correct in wide areas, in the parkarea it may be wrong - however its not clear to be seen on the satimages. This is a term for the local mappers to resolve this problem.
However, I can clear all Layer tags prior to rendering the maps (as I do with highway tunnels) but this is not the way to go because the layer tag is important in many cases.
Tagging streams in tunnels (culverts) is discussed here: http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopi ... =16300&p=1 - so its not that easy.
Maybe Mapnik ignores the layer with streams, for the park its OK, in the SW of the park Mapnik fails with this strategy. Its a fact that streams in culverts are tagged with layer-1, correct or not....
So how ever anyone render these streams ist more than likely he will fail  :mrgreen:

Quote from: "koksch"-- In Dresden the park-area cover underlying areas as wood and meadow at least in the Großer Garten (N51°02.218, E13°46.430').
Either leisure=park should be rendered before landuse=wood and so, or these parks should be changed in OSM.
Moving the rule for leisure=park before the rule for landuse=* helps.
I will take a look at this issue:
Looking at this Multipolygons (nested MP's Grosser Garten http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=51.03 ... 5&layers=M) I would say its an Artwork of its own,.....    :geek:

Edit: I'v tested the changes you suggested and found no side effects so far - so the new themes for openandromaps are ready for download at my site.

Best regards
Christian

Hi Menion

Quote from: "menion"and finally decided, not to wait till they release some new version but completely rewrite part of it to fit Locus needs. I'll of course publish this code if anyone will be intereted, ...

Yes, Mapsforge is sleeping - they announced V4.0 - lets see if the most anoying bugs are resolved with this version (small value bug, land/sea, fragile MP-handling aso..).
However, I'm in doubt that anyone is real interested in your modified code - (no offence!!)  ;)  because:

Honestly,
I, by myself would have never touched mapsforge and invested hundreds of hours if someone would had delivered high quality vectormaps with cycle/hike-routes for !!2Euros!! per GB in spring of 2012  ;)

Peter and you have done a real good job!

Best regards

Quote from: "menion"good work ;)
  hope you like additional parameters, but just for your info, this: scale-font-size="11,0.9", means "Use 100% of define font size at level 11 and scale font size by 0.9 for every next level. So in 12 it will be 100% * 0.9, then at 13 100% * 0.9 * 0.9 etc ... so by this, you have probably really small texts ;)

Hi Menion,

<caption k="ref" font-style="bold" font-size="10" fill="#000000" scale-font-size="11,1.1"
 bg-rect-fill="#FFF004" bg-rect-stroke="#000000" bg-rect-over="3" bg-rect-stroke-width="2" bg-rect-rounded="4" />

 :shock:

This is really great, it gives the map a much more professional design.
Is this your private fork of mapsforge or will we see this in the next official Version?
Hmm... or have I missed something in the documentation  ;)

Anyway,

Best regards
Christian

Quote from: "sebbo"did anybody manage to get this stuff running on a linux (ubuntu server) machine?

All tools are running on Linux too, it should be no problem to set this stuff up on an Ubuntu machine.
In the contrary, it will be easier cause you dont have to hassle with <cr><lf> line endings, the shell scripts are more powerfull than DOS-Batches, compiling the gdal-bindings for Phyton on Windows is a pain - on Linux its straight forward, aso...
