I checked latest Alp.map wit elevate and andromaps_hc and the tiles are OK.
However, I know that these side effects occour at very rare occasions and I never found out why.

Just for information: mid of October the next Evolution of OAM will be released:
zoom-appear of lakes,basins,reservoirs according to the size of the polys
zoom-appear zoom-min zoom-max label-size of lakes,basins,reservoirs according to the size of the underlaying polys

Kompatibility for existing themes is preserved for 100%.

With OpenAndroMaps the color of map-background and nosea areas have to be the same.

Reason: I render Land/Sea areas only where its really necessary. It doesnt make sense to render land-polys in the south of Germany cause there is no sea!
The polys needed for a reliable rendering of Land/Sea consume lots of resources so I skip them in areas I dont really need.

As you probably know the themes for the OpenAndroMaps are maintained by Tobias since 2013. He

• created and constantly improved the Elevate / Elements Themes,
• created variants for different Display resolutions
• added the layer feature which is, thanks to Menion, fully supported by the regular Version of Locus Map
• redesigned all Icons
• maintains map legend and description
• aso..

I kept the Andromaps_## themes up to date as far it was possible.
However my resources are limited and the Elevate/Elements Theme is lightyears ahead of the Themes I started with so its time to announce the EOL of the Andromaps themes.
I encourage all users to switch to the themes of Tobias (in fact I, by myself use the Elevate). As I said - the Quality is far ahead of the old ones.
The Andromaps-Themes will stay part of the ziped maps for compatibility reasons, but - new map features will only be added to the Elevate/Elements.

What is the difference between Elevate and Elements:
- Elevate is designed for usual Maps in urban areas where Details appear in higher zoom levels for better overview
- Elements should be used in wider areas like north of Scandinavia, South America, Australia, Canada, Iceland, Russia, aso where its essential to have all Details in lower zoom levels.

For anyone who prefer the old Andromaps Themes: These will work with future Versions the OpenAndroMaps as long as no essential change in the structure of mapsforge will take place.

The cycle tracks are way too thin and too small.

I strongly recommend to switch to Elevate3 XL-Version, here you can chose :
"Kräftige Fahrradrouten" in the Layer-menu.

This should solve the problem.

I'm thinking about buying a Suunto Ambit3 (currently I use an Ambit1 and I never had such a reliable Sportwatch bevore).
The Ambit3 has the ability to communicte with a smartphone over Bluetooth4, sending GPS-Position. (and heartrate, aso..)

This would be a great battery saver for the Smartphone.

So: can anyone confirm that LocusPro can communicate with an Ambit3, in a reliable way, using the Ambit3 as an external Bluetooth GPS?

Die Datenbasis ist OSM, korrekt.

Dem Mapsforge MapWriter fehlen einige wichtige Eigenschaften, so kann er keine Routen-Relationen Auflösen = keine Rad.- oder Wanderrouten rendern.
Das muss "zu Fuss" gemacht werden bevor die Karte erzeugt wird und ist ein extrem komplexer Prozess den sich nur Peter von Locus und ich mit den OAM antun.

Auch umschiffen die OAM viele Fehler sowohl in den OSM Grunddaten als auch im MapsForgeWriter selbst.

Die mapsforge Karten direkt vom Mapsforge Server enthalten weder Radwege noch Höhenlinien in den Grunddaten. Das können nur die LocusMaps und die Openandromaps.

I know that Locus uses a most advanced Render-Engine.
The bug seems to be common to all APPs based on V3.
Dont know why it appeared since I use mapsforge writer newer than basic V3.0.0

Anyway, its not that anoying in Locus than on standard V3 implementations.

It affects Locus too, while there are no white tiles, the affected Tiles are nearly empty.
Please could you take a look at this issue, it would be fine if you stay compatible with the openandromaps.
The new writer is way faster than the old one and handles complex geometry much better - so i would like to stay with the V5 writer.

Anyway, it seems to be that the scripting works well on other devices so I will add this method for download and install on Openandromaps in the next weeks.

@Menion: Does the scripting work on Android 4.4.2 Devices?

I gave the Locus-Actions a second try and it works in Virtual Tablet, Android 4.
On my XperiaActive, Android 2.3.## it still crashes the App.

Is there any hint you can give, any known problems with android versions, Apps or something like this?
