@tommy62: exactly
@ppiter: see 1st post. details about changes in tag-maping.xml are described there.

hi guys... I am pretty busy these days, so i not able to focus on your wishes right now. But I am pretty sure that with little effort you can build these maps yourselfs. Its not complicated at all if you follow instructions described in 1st post of this thread.

@ PeeKay: not blind, I havent created one. Maybe later ;-)
@ Midyr: havent find an alternative for srtmfill on linux yet. but you have to process the terrain data just once. or.... maybe you can skip this step if you dont mind having some bugs on contourlines.
@ Khaytsus: Please try to read 1st post of this thread (including hyperlinks). I guess it it all mentioned there. If not, feel free to ask questions about where you got stucked.

ahoj.

kod farby vo vektorovej teme (v xml) sa nastavuje bez transparentnosti nasledovne.
RRGGBB

je moznost dosiahnut aby bola farba transparentna a to sa robi takto:
TTRRGGBB

i give up (for some time)... I dont know why, but all that Japan area takes simply too long to process. maybe some kind of "semi-deadlock" or what the hell. For example: Just Hokkaido takes about 4 days to make map. My estimation for Honshu is about 2 weeks of constant procesing. If you are willing to process it by yourself, I can upload all files required, and ready for processing. ;-) There is a possibility to do it with better hardware. ;-) For example I have few servers in my work with really high CPU power and lots of memory (e.g. 144GB), but i am always too busy when i am in work.

ok guys...
it seems that i have finished with generating maps for some time. the current setup of tags seems reasonable. Finally there is also region of scandinavia added + picture of polygons how the regions were processed. I will now focus more on improving hiking theme.

hi kech61,

You were sitting in front of your monitor long enough. Go and loose some weight !!! ;-)
(aka: thanks for your brilliant work and get ready for a robbery. I will steal some ideas from your theme if you dont mind)

hi gynta...

now it is much clearer to me.

alps are combination of sources: dec1 from viewfinderpanoramas and dec3 from nasa. in this case it seems that combining dec1 and dec3 sources is causing a deep (realy deep) and perfectly staight canyon across the land ;-)

at+ch is combination of sources: dec3 from VFP and dec3 from nasa. here it looks like that there is slightly different elevation data. viewfinderpanoramas should me a bit more precise and should not contain "black holes" - thats how I am calling null data areas. but VFP are  available for some regions only.

i guess there is no chance to have totally perfect elevation data at the moment. You can tell mr. McMuffin that they are not providing complete data ;-) and you can still blame nasa too ;-)

btw: similar lines are also near high tatras in SK (dec1/dec3 edge line) and I dont really care. you Austrians are bloody perfectionsts too ... something like German perfectionists

for me its still useful. personally i don't like getsatisfaction thing at all. its also difficult to get used to with it... and i am barely able to browse ideas which interests me the most... sorry...

@ PeeKay: tested ! its OK. If you are still experiencing the "crosses" on the map, you should try to delete cache located here: Locuscachemapvector

@ gynta: please try if the same issue is also on austria_switzerland map or it is only on alps ... ?
@ PeeKay: are you completely sure that you are using latest map of germany from 15th of May ? that one should be OK/much better. (not able to test it by myself right now) I have also say that this has nothing to do with theme itself, i still believe that it is a bug in mapsforge lib.
