Very cleverly hidden! Thank you, that looks exactly like what I was hoping for! I would have never found that on my own lol. I will report back after trying it. What will happen if I set it to beep at 250m, and I am between 2 points that are 1000m apart ? Will it understand that I'm still close to the 'line' ?
Then it will beep like crazy! Proper tracks have the points at 50 to 100 meter distance. About 400 points for a days walk.

And yes , it is a "bit" hidden. I think it was Gynta who helped me find it about half a year ago. Well, that's what the forum is for.

Ah, the "boss"is faster. In screenshot one tap in the red circle, yes in the textlines (was a surprise discovery for me too some time ago) and then you get screen2 where you must activate repeat and set the repeat value (in seconds). Then, turn up the volume, put your phone in your pocket and '''walk ... walk ...

Nono, tracks with more points like the attached one from the internet (and we did walk this one).

How many points offcourse depends on the settings that the "recording person and tool" used.

You can also do a recording yourself in Locus and then try it out for guiding.

Over the last couple of years I did more than 800 km of guiding on gpx tracks with Locus. Excellent feature.

When you saw:  "... it kept trying to guide me to the start of my track.." did you activate guiding after tapping on the track label that is visible when you hover over the track?

I usually select the track in Data/tracks/ with a short tap and then in the popup menu, I select "guiding".

In the guiding settings also select "Automatically select best/next point".

And set the audible notifications. First select on and then tap on the text left from the button. Then you get a menu to set :  distance, repeat and signal.

Troubles & Questions / Re: locus on garmin monterra?

Looks like a pretty complete device, apart from not having the possibility to make calls. It's 669 euro's though.
But I wonder how Locus look like on a this 4" screen, BxH 272 x 480 pixels.
The Forum there does not give any more details.

Thanks.

The colors (grey background) look a tad lighter than the previous Voluntary_hike especially in the village. I like it very much. Thanks a lot. Please, next time add a .nomedia file to the directory's. It "hit" me again and I have a "big" media gallery now.

All works great. "not. sound" means "notification sound". I can toggle it on/off with the Quick Switch .

Well, new in 2.17.4  playstore version. I found that out during a hike two days ago.  :(  But works great and on/off not. sound through quick switch also.
But not really having time to test RC version, maybe later.

Really nobody?  (shameless push)  8)

Locus for sure has wifi/cell tower positioning but:

1. It takes some time
2. Occasionally I have to "kick" it by switching Wifi off and on again.

I do not know how many Wifi poins or cell towers Locus needs for this and how many are available at your office?

Thank you. First impression is GOOOOOD! I checked out our skiing area Alpi di Siusi. Lots of extra info there.

And at home too. Supermarkets show names now etc etc. And lots of tracks I knew allready are visible at zoomlevel 17.

Nice job.

Ah, I should have kept my eyes open but unfortunatley there was no  .nomedia file in the package. So my gallery was cluttered again with all the symbols. Please put it in next time.

Free chat / Anybody using the new MOTO G with Locus?
December 20, 2013, 16:58:36
I am interested in this one and I would like to hear from a Locus user about it.
Specially the readability of the screen outdoors? And offcourse GPS and compass?

@rvheddig: Tap on the text where the arrow is pointing and the "beep" settings menu will open.
