I prefer the new one (looks more familiar for me) but I have a small wish: Please let some space below the minus-buttons to avoid hitting the ok or cancel button by accident.

Idea: Is there a chance to rent a powerful server? I would spent at least 10 EUR for ready to use contour lines of europe. Anyone else?

if you log offline, then fieldnotes are saved in a file. Via the live API you can upload them to groundspeak. Or sent the file/import it there. Afterwards you can create logs from this fieldnotes. See also german post at viewtopic.php?p=12009#p12009 to get more details

Hmmm, ich bin Premium Mitglied und kann leider nicht genau sagen, wie es ohne Premium Mitgliedschaft am Besten geht. Du kannst die Datei gcFieldNotes.txt aus dem Locus Verzeichnis mit allen bisherigen Fieldnotes hochladen oder per Email schicken?... Evtl. kann man dann bei Groundspeak Logs draus machen.
Hab grad nachgelesen, sollte auch ohne Premium gehen, oder?

Hast Du mal beim Speichern von Fieldnotes nur Offline ausgewählt und später hochgeladen über die Live API?

mit der GC Live API, welche in Locus integriert ist, lassen sich offline erstellte Fieldnotes hochladen ("Laden sie Field notes").
Bei Groundspeak kannst Du als Premiummitglied dann in der Fieldnotesverwaltung aus diesen dann Logs erstellen.
Ich hoffe geholfen zu haben.

1. Tell us the coordinates of your sample so we can test in "our Locus".
2. Please explain why it is impossible that it's not the cache/Offlinedata of your Locus (just to let us share the believe).

Kurzer Status von mir (V 2.2.1): Heute beim Geocaching ohne Trackaufzeichnung (nur Guide) keine Abstürze (Zwangsbeendungen). Ich werde mal in dieser Richtung weiter testen (extremes Tasks wechseln ohne Trackaufzeichnung)...

je nach Bedeutung (das geht leider aus den englischen Bezeichnungen nicht genau hervor):

Bewegungsrichtung
Geräteausrichtung
Zielrichtung
(jeweils mit -Linie, falls der Platz dazu vorhanden ist)

P.S: In der Infoanzeige zu einem Track gibt es zwei Spalten, die bezeichnet sind mit "Alles" und "Geschwindigkeit". Letzteres könnte besser bezeichnet werden mit "In Bewegung".

Ich habe Feedback von Menion zu meinen catlogs erhalten. Locus wird bei mir aus SystemResourcengründen zwangsweise geschlossen. Menion möchte deshalb evl. einen Systemdienst in Locus integrieren, der dies verhindert. Ich habe heute wieder die verschiedensten Abstürze gehabt bis hin zum Reboot. Nachher werde ich die catlogs wieder an Menion senden.

I have played arround with the GC tools and find it very useful.
I detected some points that could make it even better for me:
When creating temporary circles or lines, it would be great to see the parametets later. Lenght of a line and radius of a circle could be displayed with the element.

An other useful thing for me would be to load the special GC query of founds with the api (if supported by the api).

Are this features which could be implemented (or should I put it in getsatisfaction)?

I think my mobile is smart enough to handle the use of GPS for itself. At beginning, I allways switched off the GPS if not needed. Now I leave it on and can say:
- the battery seems not to last a shorter time
- the GPS systems status symbol is not on always, but only if I use Apps that need GPS
- if I use Locus, I need GPS all the time it's running and I don't have to switch on or off.

But I can also understand the wish to stop GPS when pausing trackrecord (although I would stop track recording and switch off GPS if it's not available and I like to plan with Locus). Maybe we can find an Idea to combine both habits with a new setting:

"Combine Record/GPS on" = when track recording, switch automaticalls GPS on (if off). When stop or pausing track record, switch GPS off

"Combine Record/GPS off" = when track record, ask as usual to switch on GPS. When pause or stop, keep GPS status as usual.

Would this be ok for all needs?

mir ist das in letzter Zeit auch häufiger vorgekommen (beim Geocachen als auch bei Navigation nach Route sowie Guide zu einem WP) und hatte es auf die Anzahl laufender Tasks sowie die Anzahl dargestellter Geocaches (ca. 3000 in der Homezone) geschoben. Ich habe mir schon vorgenommen, beim nächsten Einsatz mit Ausfall ein CatLog aufzuzeichnen. Evtl. ergibt sich ja was draus...

Conversating in a forum could last longer than simply install the free version of Locus ;-)
