Locus has the best developer and the best support! And the best forum...

They say "... lässt es unterwegs keine Wünsche offen.", but there is no feature of geocaching and they say it's simple. So it can't be as powerful as locus ;-) I don't even want to try. The only interesting thing seems to be budy-tracking.

Other features / Re: Offline POI database

Suggestion about search feature:
1. Works great even with leading wildcard %. Performance of searching "Schleswig-holstein" (DE) is good (even when selecting ALL and searching two letters)! -> Include leading wildcard by default.
2. Sometimes I want to see/search tourism attractions which could be sorted in religious places or natural attractions (just example). So it would be helpful to select more categories for display or search (but not use all categories like firestations, financial services, shopping). Any idea i.e. selecting categories/subcategories with checkboxes?

Worked with Chrome after three attempts (not the best mobile network here in holiday).
Aditionally you need an app that can handle zip files (I use ES fileexplorer). Maybe browser doesn't like downloading unknown fileformats (extenstion zip)?!

Ah! Data is from 17/18.8 - parent foldername is older ;-)  (first post in http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3267.0 ) Now it works.

Updated to 3.2.0 and Offline POIs is not working (empty category-folders with message). Are there new DBs (new format) to download which will work with current Locus version?

I use the German map of whole germany (Locus shop) and couldn't find the corresponding OfflinePOI DB. I prefer complete Germany because (during holiday in the field) I don't want to think about the Bundesland and need to switch when searching the POI DB for a certain type of POI (toilets, castles, ...).
Some lag in display is ok for me at large DB. Could you please provide whole Germany DB?

I'm not really a biker (in my youth, I was :-D ), but I think GPS is enough for most recordings. Aditional bluetooth power consumption should have a real benefit. I suppose acceleration or measurements of distances like centimeters is not very important to most of the bikers.

Hi Joachim, I think you mixed it a bit, see first post of this threat and http://support.locusmap.eu/hc/en-us/articles/200197661-Types-of-navigation . Navigation (computed by an external service):  http://support.locusmap.eu/hc/en-us/articles/200106731-Navigate-To . Guiding to waypoints and notifications about this is something different: http://support.locusmap.eu/hc/en-us/articles/200118982-Notification-view . To see the settings for notification, click in Locus settings "Routenführung (Guiding)" on the word "Benachrichtigung" (in German) left to the switch.

Wishlist / Re: S-Pen support

I support the wise decision not to put any possible feature into locus and keeping an eye on the size and quality of the code. This is for me the story of success of Locus. Even if I would have an S-Pen device, I would not like a 3 MB library for it in Locus.

Ich hätte auch Interesse an e-Ink-Unterstützung für meinen zukünftiges Outdoortablet meetearl.com.

Source was brouter in car mode.
Navigation beta was always in real GPS mode and the speed of 116 km/h is correct (on higway i had the chance to make the screenshot without big danger).
At the next filling station I was back in mobile network, used Mapsforge and real navigation and it was perfect.
I think, the bug is in beta navigation regardless which source. I will test this soon by following a handmate track (without and routing service for computing the track).

Last weekend in deepest bavaria without mobile network, I needed brouter with Navigation beta again and like to show you the curious time to drive 142km...
