i need to open a html page from within a waypoint description. this can e.g. be done by defining an url in the waypoint description within the gpx file.
unfortunately, locus shows a weird behaviour in using the url definition. here's what i found:

if there's no url defined:
locus itself generates an url for it's hotlink: http://<address of geocaching page>/wp=<waypointname>
trying to open the online cache description

if there is an url definition starting with "http://":
locus uses the defined url.

if there is an url definition starting with anything but "http://":
locus does nothing when clicking on the hotlink.

my problem is, that i do not want to open an online url. i need to open a local html file, i.e. my url does not start with "http://" but with "file://", so locus seems to ignore this url

there is also a way to use links within a cache description, as it can be found within groundspeak pocked queries. these links are ignored by locus.

so how can i generat a link to a local file from within locus  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:

i thought that if androzic, which is on a much lower level than locus in many things, is able to support ozi maps, locus should be able to do so too.

it seems to be possible to have references to html files in the gpx file loaded, like
<url>http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=e1fb8389-0a63-43c7-99d3-ecdd42b11731</url>
instead of referencing to an online html page, i would like to load an offline html page from my sdcard.
referencing to this html file from the browser is done using
file://sdcard/html/2Z/GC2Z8J6.htm
therefore i replaced the line above with
<url>file://sdcard/html/2Z/GC2Z8J6.htm</url>
unfortunately, locus does not open the html page referenced.
what am i doing wrong?
does locus need any other way to reference to local html pages?
thanx!

it would be a very nice feature if locus was able to directly use maps in oziexplorer format.
this would save space on the flash, as each map would only be required to be stored in one dataformat.

thanx!
in the mean time, i was able to import 16000 caches, but without logs. looks like importing without logs is less a problem.
now i installed this blade buddy application. it showed a heap limit of 32m. i increased to 64m. hoped this will help...
but when going to the category folder to tick all the waypoints, the work indication turns for a few minutes and then i get the message:
die anwendung locus free wurde beendet
looks like there's still a problem ;-(

hm. how can i find out how much memory a device allows an application to use?
if i buy a new one, how can i know?
#144
so you think that the 512mb ram are not enough to run this?
how much should i have?

i tried to import (not only display) a gpx file with 16000 caches for several times, but it always failed.
so now i try to get rid of the caches it already imported, but i can't manage to do so.
i try to open the pois to select them to delete, but while opening the poi manager (takes several minutes), locus crashes.
how can i get rid of these pois? is there a way to delete the whole category?
thanx for your help!
#146
i tried to do it with the poi import function. is this direct display or import?
what are the 2 ways to show geocaches on the map? (is there a manual that describes how to do this?)
is there only a limit of the number of geocaches, or does it also depend on the file size, i.e. the number of logs included within the gpx?
#147
what is the maximum number of geocaches, locus is able to handle?
import seems to abort after a few thousands...
