really?? Damn, so together with balloni you are fourth person (already two wrote over help desk). It has to be some issue, hmmm weird. I'll disable this manually in update to all Locuses, so users will have to enable it manually once more - which I see as smaller problem then opposite. Thanks @balloni55, good point.
I would prefer Locus behaves like for altitude display at the center cross or at least descriptive error text instead of silent disabling a user selection.

@tommi,
i have had identicaly issue, so just an idea
take a look at menu/more/OpenStreetMap Notes and uncheck both checkboxes if checked
Ah, you're right, it was ticked.
Thanks!

About internet connection: hmm and are you able to see to which url address Locus send request? There should be some network link running on background, online map (as overlay maybe?), WMS map? Locus also use Google Analytics so maybe it should be some data that Google send, but these should be send just rarely usually over wi-fi so it will be probably some feature of Locus itself. But hard to say from my table ... :/
The message pops up every let's say 1-2min. Just as a side-note, WLAN was switched on but no reception, mobile radio was switched off (airplane mode).
I only work with vector map, altitude data I have available as SRTM. I never observed such behaviour of Locus in the past.

Newest beta:
1) Locus requests internet connection w/o obvious reason. I don't know if it happens only during navigation, anyway it shouldn't do so as navigation source is brouter.

2) Nice rework of icons, I like it, though I'm Locus user for more than four years. Just one thing: Please take care for (almost) maximum contrast, the orange navigation arrows might be hard to see in bright sunlight.

@reha73:

Nun, da kommt natürlich Einiges an Bedingungen zusammen.

GPS Auto-Off sagt alle 90sec einschalten.

Hello Peter,
as experienced user of Locus and especially it's "inherited" routing and navigation capabilities I observed few mistakes/obstacles as well.
I could summarize them by my own but there is already a quite accurate description here:

Thanks for this great project!

Hmm this is already possible if you set Locus/mapsVector to SD card and copy whole content from internal storage to SD card, isn't it?
Yes, that's true but doesn't do what I want it to do, I still want to have my Locus folder in the default internal location but want to have all the data Locus only needs to read on the external one, please refer to
http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4036.msg37858#msg37858
Later on in a post where you answered different things you confirmed it doesn't work as suggested.

@john_percy: I don't get what you mean, you argue it works as I request it? Now I also found a post from you in the referenced discussion which goes in the same direction, sorry I didn't see it last time.

Uff, I've just spend almost two days on work with new SD card system on Android 5.x ... and seems that support for SRTM/HGT files on SD card is done. Have to say, that system from Google may be usable for small apps and may work quite well when you (as developer) start work on a new application ... but in case of Locus it is really a nightmare. Nevermind, I'll try to do same for Locus/mapsVector during next days (maybe weeks), hope it will work.
Please don't forget support for .gh files on ext SD card as well.
We should be able to put all bulk data on ext sd card to save precious space on the internal one.

Using Bavaria instead of Germany solved the problem. Thanks!

In 0.1.6 I still see lots of crashes of the addon. I would say roughly every third call to the addon by Locus ends with "problem with service". I can provide log if needed.
Sent mail, service request #7335
Tried the up to 5minutes ago unknown 0.1.7: Same result, the crash with "problem with service" occurs again. I guess no new log needed for the moment.
