If I use the bing maps the street names are larger and much better readable, but OSM has better details (in my area)

this is not an external addon as I see, but this is done buy some guy that have to have access directly into source code of google maps application. This can be done because google maps use Vector maps and not raster maps.

I find this app quite handy to be able to access my different forums.

for my taste on my HTC-Sensation the street names are realy looking tiny in locus.

Google maps has a 3rd party addon (found in google maps  under "Google Labs")

You can the difference easily if you look the google maps by locus and than by google.

Werde das mal in der englischen Section posten, denn ich dachte dass die Schriften sich inder KArte skalieren lassen.

Bei google maps gibt es ein addon welches die Straßennamen größer darstellt.

Locus hat kein eigenes Kartenmaterial. Das ist der Grund, warum es keine Einstellungen für die Schriftgröße eines Textes gibt.

Die Namen werden "etwas" größer aber nicht so wie bei google. Sie sind immer noch schwer zu lesen.
Bei google werden die Straßennamen "stärker" vergrößert es ist dann einfach wesentlich besser lesbar.
Mein Eindruck ist dass bei google die Straßennamen z.T. überproportional vergrößert werden.

Zumindest ist das so auf meinem HTC Sensation.

Verstehe ich nicht.
Straßennamen sind sicherlich abhängig von der Zoomstufe der Karte.
Kartensegmente sind so etwas ähnliches wie Fotos. So wie die Aufnahme, so das Ergebnis.
Loucs kann lediglich die Schriftgröße von POI oder Track ändern, jedoch nicht in Deine Karte eingreifen.
Nimm eine Vektorkarte, Zoom und die Straßennamen werden 'größer'

ich suche wo ich die Schriftgröße für die Strassennamen "richtig" einstellen kann. Bei locus ist das alle sehr sehr klein, egal welche Karte man wählt, OSM, google, etc.

Bei google maps werden die Strassennamen größer dargestellt, das suche ich auch bei locus.

Danke! Das funktioniert prima, aber ich fast meinen dass ein extra Punkt im Menue bzw ggf ein button für diese funktion ganz hilfreich währe.

Wenn Du eine neue/andere Vektor-Karte öffnest, nicht das rote Häkchen setzen, sondern einach irgendwo auf die Zeile der Karte  "klicken".  Dann hast Du die Auswahl "Karte zentrieren" oder "Löschen".

Hmm so einfach ist das bei mir nicht ...

Suchen über Adresse funktioniert.

aber wo ist "Karte zentrieren"?

Hey,

ganz einfach... Benutze die integrierte Suchfunktion und lass dir ne Stadt in Canada anzeigen. Z.B. Toronto.
Oder noch einfacher.. Du klickst in der Übersicht der geladenen Vektorkarten auf die Karte deiner Wahl und wählst dann "Karte zentrieren".

ich habe ein paar Vektor KArten geladen und wollte ein wenig "herumspielen".

Wie komme ich in den Kartenbereich von Canada wenn ich in Österreich sitze? Ich markiere z.B Ontario, da ich aber in Österreich sitze wird natürlich nichts angezeigt. Eine Funktionwie "springe zur aktiven KArte" oder so etwas ähnliches habe ich nicht gefunden.

just using the new vector maps download feature within locus.

A qucik question: For larger countries you have several files for downloading. Are those different files "connected" that way that if I move from one area to another that I see it or do have to manualy switch between those maps.

If this is the case this would be also quite uncomfortable if traveling in a "border" area where you are crossing the border a coupld of time.

I have a problem with the new Vector map addon:

- bought & installed it yesterday
- by pressing the "+" to enter the menue to download maps I just get only a endless "loading" with the running circle.

I was on my wifi at home.

Today in the morning made a quick check without wifi and saw the menue with the maps, but have not downloaded anything over umts.

Now just trying it again - the same problem, both on wifi and umts: endless "loading" and now menue with the maps.

Surfing and doing other stuff over the net is working without any problem, only o get the maps within locus.

PS: My device is HTC sensation, stock rom, but s-off and rooted

Edit: Just tried again aand got an error meassage after a while (while on umts):

something like "interenal server error"

Edit2: Tried again and now I am able to download maps over wifi - strange

Anyway maybe you can add a checking whether the server is avaialble to avoid this "endless" loading screen if there is a problem

just bought locus pro and I would like to say that this is realy a great application!

Came from WM and a HD2 and now I am on Adroid with a HTC Sensation.

For the bluetooth gps I have some wishes to make it a little more comfortale:

For using it in the car I normaly prefer  to use a bluetooth gps to be independent form the phone "loaction"  - in a rental car I put the device normaly not under windchill and have therefore not good gps reception with the built in gps.

Would it be possible to add a function

- if bluetooth is ON
- scan 1st if the bluetooth gps is available
-- if yes: Use it
-- if no: use internal gps

or (even more sofisticated)
- switch on bluetooth
-- scan for the bluetooth device
-- if found: use it
-- if not:
- switch off bluetooth
- use internal gps

- in the gps "screen/menue" have a button within locus to switch on/off bluetooth to make the handling easier.
