Quote from: "menion"in case of any problems, write me for sure!

anyway problems that in-app billing do not work by wi-fi or similar are happen on screen where you pay for data or directly in Locus? If in Locus, then it's mine problem, but otherwise it's again some issue in Google Play application that do main part of this in-app billing

Hi
as far as I remember the problem is not in locus but in google play.

Quote from: "dreamteam"in app buying is working now - the problem happens when I am connected to the internet via wifi - I just tried it now via 3g and now it was working - strange but luckily I am now with 30gig back in the map-junky-game... ;-)
Hopefully map download works in wifi or do you have unlimited data plan with high data rate?
Map download works with wifi - otherwise I would have a new problem...

Hi,

ok, many thanks for the feedback.

I will see whether I can get help for my "old" cooked rom and get Google Play fixed.
I am not quite sure whether I want to do the effort and install the new ICS, because I need to reinstall all the apps and do the configuration and at the moment everything - except the market - is running fine.

>other ways to add credit to your account then just by in-app billing are planned, but it will take >some time
Hopefully it will take not too much time - although my case is a unusual one

Quote from: "menion"Hi,
unfortunately there is no other way to get same maps that are in Locus, by other method then by in-app billing. Anyway if you'll look here on forum, you may find similar vector maps generated by any users that can be directly downloaded and placed to Locus/mapsVector directory

other ways to add credit to your account then just by in-app billing are planned, but it will take some time

Hi,

my account expired today 1st of July to download maps (I think I bought it last year when this concept came out). So I just wanted to use the in app buying from locus.
unfortunatly in my custom rom the market is somehow screwed up and I cannot use it to buy apps. I can update apps which I bought no problem, I can also buy apps via pc, but not directly from the device.

So is there any chance to buy a download package via the pc and not only via the in app buying feature?

Best regards

Hi
many thanks for your feedback.

On my end it is not working as you are describing it.

Once I am pressing the button to select the maps the overview is already there and is blocking the screen.

When I use the return button than I am closing locus and not only the overview screen

A dedicated closing button within the overview screen would be helpful.

Hi

I have a problem that on the locus vector map management site the major screen area is blocked by the information window

How can I disable it to see the different maps I have with their full name?

QuoteIs it possible in the meantime to download the vector maps via PC and install it than on the phone?

I downloaded my map from here: //http://download.mapsforge.org/maps/ and copied it manually to the phone. Works perfectly.

Many thanks for the link which is quite helpfull!

What I am looking for is a program that I can download those maps in a row and do not have to click them one by one.

Do you have also a page for Asia maps and South America?

Hi,

I was not keeping track the very recent developments, so maybe this is just a noob question:

Is it possible in the meantime to download the vector maps via PC and install it than on the phone?
(I have the pro version and if that woudl require a new account with a reasonable amount of money involved would do it)

The reason is that I would like to to have the maps "ready" and than push it to the phone rather than downlaoding several hundereds of MByte via the phone.

I would also be interested to set up a "private" openstreet map server (if this is possible) to be able to adjust the zoom level to my needs and not struggle with download rates.  Maybe this could be a modell that if a number of users are doing that and cross setup accounts to reduce the download traffic?

Edit: I found the thread about the "Data path" but I am still not sure whether locus will use it also as the standard "storage" path.

Hi

I have a new Galaxy Note which has a "internal" sd card and could have also a "external" sd card.

Is locus already prepared to use this external sd card for all storage actions?

The mounting point is "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/"

I do not know whether this is standard for all android devices which are using a internal and external sd .

I know I could set a folder to scan also for maps, but does this mean that locus is using this folder also for the storage of new maps?

Hi,

I have "grouped" my POI in different Categories and not only within Favorites.

But the problem is that if you want to use the function to Navigate from 1 POI to another POI you only could access those POI which are stored with the Favorites and not within other Categories.

I had alos no luch yet to move 1 POI from Category A into another Category - for example into Favorites.

Quote from: "Khaytsus"Uh, what does that iphone app have to do with OSM or Locus?
The iphone app is downloading osm maps and locus is downloading osm maps

Menion is getting trouble because of this because too many locus users are  downloading too much

Have  you read the 1st post?

Best regards

Please find enclosed a information concerning osm map downloading I found today @ heise - sorry it is german.

Allthough they are using osm maps there is a charge for the map downloading:

>Der Download eines Landes kostet als In-App-Kauf 2,39 Euro, ein Kontinent 5,99 Euro und die weltweiten Karten 9,99 Euro. Einmal gekaufte >Karten kann man löschen und erst bei Bedarf wieder installieren, um Platz zu sparen.

I think we all need to make a difference that "Free" does not mean "no cost", because the infrastructure to make downloads available is creating costs.

So I think having at the end of the day we need to consider that there is a difference for those who are willing to pay and getting therefore a dedicated donwload volume or speed and those who don´t want or cannot pay and have to wait than longer.

I do not believe that the app developer at the end of the day is the responsible person for paying that "fee" because than the developer only can average the costs and increase the app price therefore and this would be alos not fair for the users who do not have the need for an ongoing high download demand.

If something does not costs anything it has also no value for most of the people - I am not saying that this is something good, but it is reality. Only if the downloads are costing money people will think more carefully if they need it or not

Skobbler navigiert on- und offline
