I am almost sure the phone was off for much longer than 10 minutes.  I attached the power cord, got it running again and launched locus but can't remember if I had to to start recording again.  That night when I stopped the recording and looked at it there was no gap.  I don't know how this is possible unless the system "guesses" and inserts the most direct point to point track but I doubt that and based on your answer the system will only auto fill a lost part of a track if it's less than 10 minutes.  So this will always be a mystery but all in a good way I guess.

Anybody know a map that can show the outlines of the states well...not hard to see lines.  I'm surprised google is so weak at this.  I did find a way to import tracks that draw the outlines...this worked well except it slows the entire phone down and therefore makes it unusable.  overlay somewhere?

I took a 7k drive recently and ran locus constantly except one day the phone ran out of power and went dead.  I charged it and restarted locus and figured I had lost @200-300 miles.  That night I looked at the track and there is no gap???  How do you do this?

I see that someone actually asked for the same thing a while ago and was told it can't be done.  The URL of Hitta Frilufts is in there and works on cartograph...hmmm.

They were told to use a free map on the locus store that seems to have all the same trails and is very legible and has the osm road color/designations. It is made by https://www.lantmateriet.se so for trails it might be as good as Hitta Frilufts just not as pretty.  If anyone wants to take a crack at the syntax and get Hitta Frilufts working I will but you a coffee.

I'm pretty sure it can be easily done by a power user...not me.

I'm trying to get Hitta Frilufts working as a provider xml or wms???

Anybody know the correct syntax?  yes I have seen the Locus guide on making these but my head boils just trying to read that...I wish there was an easier way to get these working.

Attached is the map in Guru and Cartograph.  In my travels almost anything that runs in Cartograph can run in Locus.

WOW!!!  it works and is very powerful for US locus users...this really should go in the default online map list...JUST WOW.  It is much clearer than Accuterra's layer...MUCH BETTER!!!

This is human error...(ME)!

I did another test and really zoomed in where I clicked down to draw the new inner segment and made sure I was exactly on the road when beginning the new route.  The original errors I got must have been because I was zoomed out and I had not clicked exactly on the road bounds and been slightly off the road causing the extra track points.  Sorry for wasting everyone's time...delete this thread please and put me in the penalty box.

0709...sorry did not see the 2 attachments when replying before on my phone.  When examining the htm it does show both errors still.

Locus can sew them together with a gap or without but the errors I am seeing remain regardless.

In my reply #2 above I meant merge A, new_B , C.

I will try this programs to see the individual track points better... maybe the errors are in the gpx but do not display???

All these were made using the routing tool and were not recorded.

Thanks 0709 for your response.  That is interesting and beyond my understanding by I'm trying.

I do not believe I need anything other than locus to do this surgery on tracks ie remove and insert parts and what I see should be what I get but this error happens with gaps and without.

Does it really bother me... not really but I know the locus team would like to know what it is.  Try it yourself on your own system with 4x I have been able to make it happen twice.

Caltopo and some of the programs you listed can merge tracks clean.

I just made another test just to be sure this was consistently happening
I created a route
then added 2 splits so now we have parts A, B, C
then turned off the middle part B
then drew another track connecting A and C called B_new
then merged A, B_new, C
the same extra trackpoint error happened only on the 2nd merge point???

anyhow...attached are the 4 gpx tracks used in the video.  Maybe you can figure out why it is happening...since it is not a large distance in the 1-3 extra tracepoints it is not bad to deal with.  Maybe there is a rounding filter that can be added when merging to force it to attach the tracks clean?
