Umm max Speed 1753 km/h you are faster than Flash!
I think there are some points on the track recorded with a bad accuracy, take a close look at the points of the track if you find some bad point delete it, I think they are the cause of the crazy max speed and crazy altitude.

Hello,
just some thoughts on recent changes:

Even for Lopoints Locus is not able to read the photos saved in heic format as I suspected, however I saw that by choosing the photos it is possible to access the cloud, in my case in gphoto where the photos are displayed, but Locus is unable to load them reporting the orange boxes with the words "process failed".
When you download photos from gphoto, even if the original was hiec, google transforms them into jpeg and I thought it was a good way to get around the format problem. I also agree with the comment of Patrik in the blog

Share tracks with photos
I don't understand the point of creating a default image based on track activity. If someone wants to share something with an image, sends the map or a photo of the trip as a background, it seems like an unnecessary complication to me which also makes inserting a own photo less intuitive. It would be more useful to be able to choose which data to expose and where, so as to arrange the data in places that do not interfere with the image. In this case the fields could be "suggested" based on the type of activity, for example for hiking the difference in altitude is interesting while for running the pace is more interesting...

I continue to really appreciate the attention you put into reducing consumption to a minimum. If there are particular functions within the app that lead to higher processing and therefore higher consumption, why not create an energy saving mode?
I believe that for example live maps for geocaching, georeferenced photos, shading... are services that are often active without a real need, with a single touch they could be turned off and restarted only when needed.

Thank you in any case for the constant improvement work you do, Lorenzo

Thank you Menion,
Are you perhaps planning to manage LoPoints on the web too?
Insertion, comments, rating ...
For me it would be much more convenient to do it on the PC than on the smartphone.

Hello,
I don't know if I understood correctly but you could use the planner for the parts of the route listed on OSM. Then follow the gpx of your tracks or downloaded ones. You could make the GPXs you are interested in visible on the map, go with the planner to their start then continue on the GPX and so on...

Quote from: Menion on April 24, 2024, 08:22:02And thanks balloni. I also think it will be "this" problem with Geocaching.

Hello Menion,
maybe he's referring to what I wrote here:

Hello,
in the absence of network, the error message on the orange background is intrusive. To avoid seeing it I disabled the geocaching live map. Why not integrate these messages into locus notifications?

Hi,
You could contribute by adding the information to openstreetmap. It will take some time but sooner or later it will be implemented and the transition will occur normally.
In the meantime, you would like Locus to insert a sort of bypass between two points that are not currently connected, temporarily until the grid is definitively updated. In this way not only the recalculation but also future planning would take the change into account.
It could be an interesting feature, but I don't know how many would be interested in it. But in my experience of use I have often found myself in similar situations having to edit the line manually each time.

I agree about the "no countdown", not even as an option there are too many options to get lost in this app  (:o getting lost in an orientation app is paradoxical)

You do it directly in Route planner - picking from the map screen." https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=8743.msg74953#msg74953 - I couldn't quote you because the topic was locked.

A few times while testing the new offline route planner I wished there was the option. For example (even in writing this reply) the route planner now shows bottom panel "+ Select start" & "+ Select destination" > I tap Select start > and here straight way I have no option to select an ad-hoc position on the map? Isn't this sufficient reason, and consistent with other places where "Select from screen" is unhidden?

Yes, as you say in your later post https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=8743.msg74958#msg74958, I can tap the map direct, but once the user has displayed the "Select location" list, for whatever reason, I don't see a reason not to display the method.

I agree, the same for me "A few times while testing the new offline route planner"

Information / Re: [TRANSLATION]

Quote from: Menion on February 02, 2024, 11:42:21Hi lor74cas,

there were some changes on the Crowdin side, but even our main account requires only code from the email. There isn't any alternative option except auth-app? I would expect some "Use another method" button, where your email should be used as an authenticator.

I wrote to crowdin, this is the answer

QuoteHi Lorenzo,

We will gladly help you, so we need to run a quick security check first before disabling the 2fa for your account. Please provide us with the following info:

Confirmation from the project owner, who can verify identity that we should reset the 2fa for your account.
Email + thread from this email.
Stored device cookie cnpf (from the device they were logged in previously)

To do the last one, please open your account sign-in page => open browser dev tools => go to Application tab => Cookies (attached the video recording to guide the process)

Also, we would need to inform you that we will be able to restore your access to the account within 3 working days

Looking forward to your reply,

So I need from Locus the permission from the project owner, I think I have identified the value of the requested cookie.
Of course, this procedure is not at all simple!

Information / Re: [TRANSLATION]
January 29, 2024, 14:31:47
Hi, I was registered for Italian translations as lor74cas, it's been a while since I made any updates and today I wanted to check a translation that doesn't seem correct to me.
Unfortunately, after logging in, I am asked for the verification code with the authentication app, but I don't have any valid code generated by the authentication app.
I have not kept the recovery codes and my email is already registered with the lor74cas login, the magic link also requires the authentication code, so I can no longer log in.
Is there an alternative to creating an account with a different email?

Troubles & Questions / Re: information request

Quote from: papizac on December 24, 2023, 16:31:38Good morning
I would like to connect locus map to my smartwatch, but I couldn't find it in the locus settings.
another question: why does locus turn off when I close my smartphone and I no longer have
information about my journey when I reopen it.
Thank you for your answers
Hello,
for your smartwatch take a look at the locus plugins on app store to connect with garmin or with gear.
If your device kills Locus https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6&s[]=kill

HI,
if the side panel is hidden, when you click on the button to show the map legend nothing happens because the legend is opened in the hidden panel.

I would expect that if the panel is hidden when I click on the legend, it should show up again with the legend info.

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.19.+ ( 9/2023 )
October 19, 2023, 08:36:02
Quote from: michaelbechtold on October 15, 2023, 09:23:17The contour lines mentioned in the news are embedded into the .map files. And display (or not) is controlled by the theme.
The hgt files are optional and allow the dynamic elevation Feature.
Thanks for the reply, but I think that a bit of confusion arises if the map shows more detail than what is calculated for the altimetry. They should always be aligned, whereas now there is a possibility that this will not happen without the user being aware of it. Now for example I had the maps with less visible detail but Sonny's hgts at 1', but I was aware of it.Obviously it's just my opinion as long as I understand the new implementation correctly

Quote from: Menion on September 25, 2023, 09:38:40App (if we will talk about track recording), is prepared to accidentally shutdown of the whole system. So when you restore the power of the device within 10 minutes, the recording should even start again automatically.
Thanks Menion,
it's something that I, like Andrew Heard, have also tested and I confirm that it is truly a great feature of Locus.
I didn't know about the 10 minute limit, if it is exceeded Locus creates two tracks, closes the abruptly interrupted one and opens a new one?
Maybe 10 are few, especially if you don't notice that the battery has abandoned you, the low battery warning on Android has never been very relevant, perhaps you could put in place a proper acoustic warning below a certain charge threshold directly in Locus.
