Since Android's changes to the file system, I'm looking for ways to backup and transfer photos and videos attached to Points. It would be really useful and a simple solution if the auto backup could also include this, I'm not sure why it doesn't, then it would be easy to transfer them to another device. Since this isn't possible how can I manually do this? as I can't access the contents of the folder. This makes me very nervous as it leaves me in the situation of potentially loosing many years of data.

Troubles & Questions / POI photo renaming
May 26, 2016, 16:01:51
I have used locus for many years and still have many photos in the data/photo_poi folder (older versions used this location) and wondering if there is any way to move them to the new location of data/media/photo without moving each photo manually ?

Also, the naming of the photos differs from whether they were taken while creating the point or adding to a point that has been named, eg.  xxxxxxx.jpg vs name_of_my_ point _xxxxxx.jpg it would be great to be able to be able to have them all renamed with the point name.

I realise that there are probably much more pressing features, but I often like to look through the folder to try and find a particular picture, and named by point name would make this easier.. and please my OCD.. 😂

any batch scripting ideas that won't break the database are welcomed😃

Troubles & Questions / QUERY [Tracks time zone]
September 22, 2014, 18:33:25
Question about time zone in recorded tracks..

I normally live in the UK, where it is British Summer Time, (UTC+1)

I have just been to Spain & Portugal:
-using a Spanish sim card and the phone set to automatically use network time zone, phone displays (UTC+2)

when recording multiple tracks:
the time auto filled in the track name displays (UTC+2) time,
browsing the saved points on Locus shows points have time (UTC+1)
exporting to GPX correctly shows (UTC)

When using a Portuguese Sim, time set automatically, Both Track name time and Points time are correctly (UTC +1)

On returning to the UK both track name time and points time both show correctly (UTC +1)

I am confused why the points stored in the Locus database show (UTC +1)  rather than the Spanish Local time of (UTC+2), or is this by design?

I have just gone back to using my own externally created SQliteDB map files after focusing on Vector maps for the last 6 months or so. (I always have 'Auto Load maps of same type (if exist) other type otherwise' selected)

*When selecting a map, or zooming out of bounds, locus will become unresponsive, and will eventually load the map after 1 to 5 mins, or display "Locus Pro isn't responding"  (this relates to having the auto load option checked)

* I used to use this identical set of maps with earlier versions, and the auto load between different maps was almost seemless.

What has happened?

*I have tried version 2.7.1, 2.6.3 both with clean installs and new Locus directory and fresh addition of maps with re-initialization, but always the app hangs for 1 to 5mins before the map is loaded.

* Is it possible to get an earlier version of the app to see if there is a point at which this behaviour happens?

I have checked the option  'Map Auto Load = Same type if exist, other type otherwise' in settings.

If I have selected a personal map eg. Bing OS (layers 1-14):

when I zoom to level 15 where it correctly changes to personal map eg. google Hybrid (layers 1-16), after zooming back out to layers 14 and lower it will still display the google hybrid map, even though the Bing OS is still selected. I have to reselect the map to get it to display again.

I couldn't find this bug/feature mentioned anywhere else.

Also, would it be possible to add the functionality to add more than 3 icon/links to the title bar.
