@Graf Geo when you single click on the track panels title, it should do what you want. The difference to versions before is: when you subsequently clicked on tracks on the map, it stayed in the minimized state.

@Menion, don't you feel it? Longtap pictures should center the map on picture position (detected via position metadata or timestamp).

And the picture view after short click... should have a map icon top right, just like other screens, which leaves the viewer and also centers.

It's screaming for such a functionality 😬

TBH I guess you are aware, and there's 11000 equally important things.

The global search doesn't work. No matter what I search for – for example, a town – nothing happens.

Works for me.

Situation: Library is open, a track panel is shown.

What do you think about that dual behaviour - I think it's useful:

a) Go back (Android): No change. Go back to library.
b) Swipe panel down: Leave library and go into map view - with that last track shown and centered.

Same with points.

@Menion, to unify behaviour and make geotagged photos awesome, you could move the map, just like a click on the graph - if we click a geotagged photo. And if geoposition access is an issue, maybe same file time approach as the  selection of photos itself: use closest track timestamp and center track there.
And picture viewer then would be started by long click.

Just realized that in the trail view the lower menu is gone. Will it come back? Or is it a bug?

@Joska there is no such change so far. The panel is still not configurable. The fight of pictures vs. diagram is ongoing.
What has changed is, when you go from Library into a track, UI now looks the same as in map view.

Ooh, that track panel view when starting from inside the media library is a big change. It's probably good that it's now looking the same, but now we can't see that we're inside the library. Ok Tiny differences, the  two buttons on the map, no trackpoint button.  Interesting.

Menion, it was possible to minimize the track panel to a very small state, so only its title was visible. It was useful. That got lost.

Re 2: For me, the map centres correctly on the point clicked in the chart.

Not if you approach the track by starting the library first. From there, go into a tracks full diagram view and try it.

Same here, the embedded WP don't show up on charts. It's checked in the chart options.

Calling a track from inside the track library, going to the full chart view, a click on the map still does not go to map view at that point.

track list > tap recorded track > tap chart ">" > tap arbitrary point on chart [...]

Good observation, a small bug. Also note that it doesn't jump to the map directly, which it should, but to the prior screen.
Reminder: this is all about approaching the track from inside the media library.

Because usability and I guess finding peaks etc is something we probably do often.
I didn't dare to ask 😁 for a feature, i. e. LM could find extremes and provide shortcuts to such points (in the chart detail screen). Such functionality isn't a strong point of LM.
