Tools / Re: custom live tracking service for Locus

A new version has been released today. An alert message will now be sent to the email of your follower(s) when:
- you have stopped moving
- or your position is no longer received (including when you stoped the tracking in Locus, as there is no "good bye" message)
for longer than 15 to 20 minutes (except if you are back to your starting location, or are around the end of the uploaded planned route).

You can also specify additional email addresses to receive the alert message (these ones won't receive the notification when you start tracking).

More info at https://arkluz.com/trk (including a contact button to contact the developer)

QuoteDo you stoped The Service?
No I did not, but it seems there was a configuration problem on the server. This should be fixed now.
You can also use the following URL, which should work even when there is such a configuration error:

Thanks for the report!

It is now recommended to set the update distance to 0 meters in the Locus Live tracking settings; this will ensure that Locus will still send the location every time interval, even if there is no movement at all.

When viewing tracking information in the web browser, if tracking is still being received but there is no significant movement (less than 50m in more than 2 minutes), the stall time is now displayed in red. And if the tracking is no longer being received (either because it has been stopped or for some other reason), the time it has been stopped is also displayed in red.

There is now the option to refresh the track and the info automatically, by checking the option in the layer panel in the web browser. You can't change the refresh delay however, which is 10 minutes.

Hello everyone,

I have made a thoroughly updated version of Bernard's OutdoorV4 theme, which has been renamed "Hike, Ride & Sight!"

The aim was to add almost all the tags available in OpenAndroMaps maps, especially those related to hiking and MTB, while keeping the map as easy to read as possible. I also fixed a lot of minor problems with the original theme.

I decided not to have theme variations (bike, hike...), which I find impractical, but to have a long list of layers that can be switched individually to focus on your exact needs and keep the map uncluttered.

The hard part was creating a map legend, and I found that plain HTML+SVG was the way to go to keep the legend maintainable.

I hope it will be useful to others; let me know if you find any problems!

Jérôme

No sure what you mean by "local map app".

If you want to view your teammates from the web, use the viewer login at https://arkluz.com/trk, then click the Tracks or Positions button.

If you want to view them from Locus, follow "Creating a Live Tracking service in Locus Map to only receive the tracks of some others people" at at https://arkluz.com/trk, then start the tracking

Quote from: Dekaru on October 05, 2022, 14:17:55It would be amazing if we could upload a GPX track(via the web interface) so the viewer could know the planned route
This has now been implemented! You can also add a textual comment that will be added to the notification email, e.g. the expected time of arrival.

Quote from: Saturo on May 06, 2022, 20:12:07Can i delete the old tracks so than i only see the last one?
Tracks are automatically deleted after 7 days, but you may now delete them immediately from the web interface.
